Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Mynard Dungeon

After Cain entered the dungeon he saw many people moving in groups hunting the beasts here , even few were moving alone . He could also sense some people moving in the shadows using stealth techniques . After moving deeper into level 1 of the dungeon , Cain removed his cover and started to proceed.

In a dungeon it's possible to evade all the creatures of a level and move to the next . But a moment this happens all the creatures will start to attack that person with the beasts of the other level . So it is always better to defeat a boss or leader of that level and move to the next as they won't attack.

The 1st level was the lair of goblins which would be led by a Hobgoblin [E rank] or in rare cases a Berserk Goblin [D rank] when the boss isn't defeated for a long time. The goblins here were of F rank . They would die in a single strike as Cain slashed his sword at them . He then cut their ears and stashed it in a bag , then burned the rest of the goblins .

After an hour of walking inside the dungeon Cain had killed around 70 goblins ,all the goblins now used to run away from Cain . Cain was constantly using his All sight skill to examine the surroundings to see if he might be able to find any remains of previous adventurers. This was the main reason Cain chose the Mynard dungeon as in the 6 th level many strong adventurers ,Mercenaries and soldiers had died , it was like a treasure trove waiting to be looted.

Cain then reached the last part of the first level where there weren't any people as many went past it . A large Goblin only a little shorter that Cain , having spiky red hair , protruding tusks , large bulging muscles , holding 2 large axes as it glared at Cain . This was a Berserk Goblin a D rank . In hand to hand combat Cain can defeat this creature in less than seconds , but he wanted to improve his sword skills so as the goblin rushed towards him he started to defend using his sword.

The Berserk Goblin had great skills wielding dual axes . If one was blocked it used to strike with another , if that to it was followed with a kick then a head smash towards Cain . Though the  Berserk Goblin was slow it helped Cain to improve in areas in he was lacking such as how to simultaneously change from a defensive stance to offensive strike without delay and with clear path. After a few minutes he chopped the head of the Berserk Goblin off .

Cain wasn't expecting much from the goblin too , what his main goal was the levels after the 4th one as he could improve there.

Cain after killing the berserk Goblin pulled out few tusks , it eyeballs and cut the goblin's ears . The as he examined the goblin's body he found it had a chain of rings on both of its arms .

As he saw through those rings , most were made of gold and silver and could fetch good amount at a pawn shop . There was a space ring , when he checked it , this had space as large as a huge warehouse in which had around a thousand gold welks , elixirs , potions , some swords and armor . It also had a few documents of the Polaris duchy  .

Seeing this Cain started to have a large smile on his face . The Polaris Duchy was one of the duchies in the  Wulfruric kingdom , it has a tradition where it's heirs are removed from the house at age of 19 and return only after they feel they are worthy enough . If the heir returns with less achievements he/she would be removed from line of becoming the Duke this is also the case if they receive any sort of support  . Though this causes many of the Heirs to die , the one who becomes the Duke would always be one of the strongest in the kingdom. He asked the system

"Is there any detection or tracking magic on this ring ?"

[No , there is none]

Hearing this Cain became very happy on this find , wore this ring and started to move down to level 2 as he burned the Berserk Goblin's corpse and thus 8 hours had passed as he moved to the next level.

As he was going down he asked the system

"How many stat points do i have now ?"

[8]

"What ! how , i Killed more than 80 goblins and even those bandits . How is it so less?" Cain was a little frustrated but asked ,

[This is because the Host has grown stronger , as the host grows stronger more souls or souls of high essence are required to increase the Host's strength]

"Shit ! so it's like that , do you have anything like a shop or give me items in exchange of souls" Cain disappointed but asked as he remembered about how the system was in various other stories he had read on Earth.

[No , The System can only guide and provide information within it's limit]

"Huh , so shitty . I should just focus on the dungeon now" Cain now disappointed started to move to the next level.

Meanwhile in the Kottar kingdom , the whole upper class was in chaos as a very important guest had arrived .

As that person entered the Royal palace all people bowed to that person without even daring to look up to that person . Even people stronger than that person were bowing to her in fear . Only the king was looking directly looking at this person as he was looking at her as she came towards her throne . Looking at that king that person spoke

"We have come from the Aquonia Empire have come looking for new capable Fire manipulators or Fire mages who started to show great potential in the last three months to recruit them" hearing this the king replied .

"Yes , we will make sure to call them to the capital as offering rewards" the person slightly irritated spoke

"No need , call them to the main hubs of the kingdom .I will personally go and check on them" King nodded in consent , as the person looked at this she left the palace.

Till half an hour there was silence , even after the person had left . The person who broke the silence was a minister , who spoke .

"Lord , they are looking for someone . Mostly related to the Flame Primordial" Listening to this the king spoke

"It isn't necessary for us to know this in detail , as this may do us more harm . The three Empires have never attacked any kingdom unless there was a major incident . In the past some fools thought them being silent as pushovers and did some thing unspeakable" The minister was a little kingdom .

"What lord ?" The minister asked in a little confusion.

"Hmm , you came under me 7 years back right so you might not know ? 15 years ago the very person who came here Aurora Aquis was kidnapped by a kingdom as Primordial blood was highly sought after as a material to increase one's rank . And she is the daughter of Aquis the Fluid Primordial ." The King then looked down on the floor and spoke in dread

"Within 5 days the whole kingdom was submerged in water , the three Empires issued killing order for anyone from that kingdom . No one was spared , all of them were hunted . Those who tried to protect them were even brutally killed . It didn't stop there , for the next year that kingdom had constant irregular floods and droughts . By the end of it the kingdom had become a barren wasteland" The king then looked at the minister and continued

"The Primordials are merciful .Even if i don't follow them ,they  won't care and look after who follow them . But those who cross the line will be eliminated . Everyone here is just scared that they might offend that child . It is also better this way as no need to take chances . This issue wasn't hidden by any sort , but no one spoke of it sue to its severity that's all . It might be because of that you don't know" Hearing this the minister was a little scared , but then went on to do the necessary arrangements.
