Chapter 1: Chapter One : Cultivation World

"Ack!" Ethan shot upright and felt his body in a panic, the memories of being hit flying by a car, over a bridge and into the river below was jarring.

Luckily or maybe even unluckily enough, he hit a rock and promptly died and avoided the fate of drowning in the turbulent raging river. After finding know broken bones or pain anywhere, he looked around and saw a modest room illuminated by a candle.

"I swear, if I'm in some fantasy world, give me a cheat. Who doesn't know that I'd die immediately?" When he worked hard, it was unnaturally rare as he was naturally lazy.

If he had to go out everyday and kill monsters or fight, unless he was feeling energetic, he might as well forget it. Unlike protagonists who were invincible and hot blooded, he was too lazy.

"What about memories?" Although he felt okay, the body he was in wasn't his. The skin was very good, better than his old one, and the hint of muscles was a good change for Ethan. What was better than getting something someone else worked hard for for free?

"So I do have one, but this isn't good. Is this a cultivation world? Ah! No! I will have to face too many brain dead idiots now! Can I go back? Pretty please?" Ethan begged with utmost sincerity.

[Nine Heavens Divine System activated. Generating a system manager now. Generation successful.] A screen appeared in his mind, as opposed to the voice he had heard previously.

"Hello Master, what can I help you with today?" An adorable voice sounded and Ethan felt his lips twitch. If he didn't know it was a system speaking, he'd think it belonged to a peerless beauty, but it belonged to his intangible system.

"Um, can I go back home? Like quickly? What if trouble finds me here?" He had read more than enough novels to know the protagonists never caught a break, and if they did, it was to face even bigger problems.

"Now now Master, returning to your previous world is impossible. If you'd like to file a complaint, I am more than willing to help you in this regard." Hearing the words, Ethan felt his hope vanishing.

"Complaint! I want to complain!" Ethan asserted and the screen in his mind expanded until he could see a text box. Then the system explained to him how to use it.

"Thinking about your words will allow them to be written in the window." Ethan then nodded and began thinking about how best to phrase his problems at the moment.

[My name is Ethan and I seemed to have crossed worlds. I would like to return immediately! Before I die to some random cat or dog, or get slapped into the sky by some old beggar who's secretly a big shot!]

"Complaint filed. You have received an answer, would you like to hear it?" The system asked and Ethan nodded rapidly. Even now in this place, if two cultivators fought overhead, he'd die with regrets!

"To Ethan. Worry not, with the Nine Heavens Divine System, you dying would be truly unjust. I advise you to do your best to get stronger." The system stopped speaking and Ethan cursed whoever gave him that reply.

"In light of your recent disrespect, I'll give you something to be angry about." It wasn't the system's voice this time, but another, just a beautiful if not more but it was filled with anger.

"Did you just curse me?! Why?" Ethan wanted to curse some more but held his tongue. If he got any more curses, wouldn't his situation be worse? The worse it was, the harder he'd have to work!

"Can I see my status?" Ethan asked the system with a helpless tone and looked at the new screen in his mind, showing him a page of data, some of which he just ignored for now.

"Ugh. Even if I am lazy, I don't want to embrace death okay?! I will regret this! How do I transform?" Ethan felt that it would be best to do so now and get stronger rather than wait and do so on a deadline.

"Would the host like to enter your Winter Goddess Form?" The system while being cordial before seemed to be excited which worried Ethan a bit but he nodded despite it.

"Winter Goddess Form is awakening." As the words sounded, Ethan felt a cool sensation traveling through his body and his vision darkened for a moment before returning.

Outside, the clouds in the dark night skies flashed as a bolt of black lightning broke apart space where ever it passed, and those who's Cultivation bases were high enough to perceive it turned pale and hid their auras quickly.

From inside Ethan's soul, which was small and dim, it began to expand and contract endlessly, so many times in a second that it was impossible to even fathom how many times it had done so.

In the end, his soul was a gleaming blue and white universe that was brighter than anything he had seen before. Outside, the black lightning snaked through the skies and an aura of annihilation locked on to Ethan's body.

"F*ck!" When his voice sounded, although it carried fear, it was also so beautiful that he himself was lost in a daze. The lightning flashed down but before it made contact, besides Ethan, a crack opened and a bolt of Nine Colored Lightning flashed and shattered the black lightning and then vanished alongside it.

In the skies, the clouds faded into calm and and the fatal sense of danger that gripped his heart receded. Or maybe, her heart? Ethan looked down and realized not only was his? body vastly different, so were the clothes.

His? clothes, a blue and white robe hugged his? body perfectly, his? pale white skin free of blemishes. His? hands were small and looked boneless, but carried far more strength than even his? old body.

"If I change back, will my talent remain?" Ethan thought of something and his? expression darkened, even though it was angry, if anyone could see his? face, they'd lose themselves in admiration.

"Apologies Host, if you wish to cultivate, you'll have to use your Winter Goddess Form or your path will be unable to progress. System suggests staying in this body and cultivating." The system sounded faintly happy while Ethan's heart bled.
