As he waited for Yoonshin, he skimmed through the documents. There were index stickers everywhere, and judging from that, Yoonshin seemed to be trying to find a way to help despite not being asked directly by his sister. Yoonshin barely rested on the weekends and poured all his energy into his work, so there was no way that he had read through all this overnight. Yoonshin must have read precedents whenever he had some spare time.
Sehun sat with his legs crossed as he hummed out loud and read through the notes that Yoonshin took. Precedents were of utmost importance in divorce lawsuits, more than any other suit. Yoonshin zoned in on the right starting point.
In the meantime, Yoonshin appeared with Sehun’s coffee. The younger man saw that Sehun’s eyes were fixed on the papers he had left out. He froze for a second in bewilderment before he placed the cup on the table. Looking up at Yoonshin, Sehun asked for an explanation. “Is someone getting divorced?”
Yoonshin was conflicted between telling Sehun the truth or glossing over it, then he decided on the latter and averted his eyes. “Well, you know that I help out with the work that the incorporated association does? I do free consultations and sometimes get follow-up requests.”
Sehun didn’t say anything, so Yoonshin continued to rattle on without being aware of it, “So, I voluntarily just… There are a lot of pages, but it’s not too much. And I read them occasionally anyway. It’s not going to be a hindrance to my work at all.”
“You’re saying this is a continuation of your free consultations. Just for a string of divorces? Even if it was for your own divorce, I don’t think you’d need to read this many precedents. Just how many cases are these?”
“I just thought it’d be nice to help out and see things through to the end since I started. I’m not going to represent them in court anyway. The law isn’t always that accessible to normal people, so I thought I might as well keep helping out with consultations if possible.”
He was long-winded but didn’t sound too confident. Eventually, Yoonshin lost his momentum to continue lying and stopped. Sehun made an oddly entertained face and replied, sounding amused, “Let me give you a tip. Normally, lies tend to proliferate from themselves. When you make up a story, say the main point and stop talking. Otherwise, you start to ramble, just like now.”
Yoonshin winced and stared blankly at the older man. Sehun added, “If you understand, come over here.”

“…”
“I won’t press you further, so come here.” Sehun beckoned him over with his hand and Yoonshin gave in, taking one step toward him. Sehun’s crossed legs and crooked posture exuded haughtiness. He acted as if this was his home. The only issue Yoonshin had with that was it felt too natural.
Yoonshin felt sheepish that his innermost thoughts were uncovered by Sehun, who remained casual; Yoonshin wanted to rebel against him, so he stopped walking and asked, “Why?”
“Why? A partner is telling you, and you question it? Do you not know who’s earning your six-figure annual salary and sticking it in your bank account? I’ve been feeding you after working like a dog, but I see that I’ve been raising someone who doesn’t even know what gratitude is,” Sehun shot back.
“Are you here as a lawyer of the firm?” Yoonshin asked.
“I’m here as your boyfriend. I wanted to see you. Are you coming over or not?”
Yoonshin couldn’t say he did it many times, but so far, he was always the one who played the role of the boyfriend. But he didn’t hate this novel feeling from the same word they used.
Slightly dejected yet pleased at the same time, Yoonshin grinned softly and flumped next to Sehun on the couch. He hugged the upper body of the man, who still emanated coldness from the air outside, and buried his face into his shoulder, hiding his expression.
“Your clothes are cold,” Yoonshin mumbled.
“Then rub against me a bit—to create frictional heat.”
