Yoonshin very politely opened the door and poked his head in. When his visitor didn’t say anything, Sehun raised his head from his documents. Then, the partner lawyer leaned back in his chair, making it squeak.

“Great. Just keep hanging on the doorframe. It’s exactly like your life,” Sehun commented snarkily.

“Are you calling me ambiguous?”

“Why? Are you offended?”

“Honestly, yes.”

While the other was laughing hollowly, Yoonshin came into the room and closed the door behind him, then he walked toward Sehun’s desk. With his own documents in his arms, he stood next to Sehun and peeked at the documents Sehun was reading. The older man crossed his arms and legs haughtily and stared intently at Yoonshin.

“If you entered my space, state your business first. Don’t steal anything.”

“Who stole anything?”

“You don’t like stealing things?”

Yoonshin winced at Sehun’s comment, fraught with meaning. His cheeks grew faintly pink. It almost sounded as if Sehun knew that Yoonshin had snuck into this office before. He thought he should come clean, yet he didn’t want to wipe away the gentle expression Sehun had, testing his honesty.

“So, Senior Attorney,” Yoonshin started to say, wanting to confess his wrongdoings after contemplation.

However, Sehun cut off this topic immediately, “What were you going to say? You’ve interrupted me, so you need to tell me something of equivalent importance.”

It was the first time Yoonshin met anyone who was so well-suited for high-handed words. Frankly speaking, Yoonshin got a similar impression from his brother-in-law back in the day. However, if his brother-in-law’s arrogance was from the power he held since the day he was born, Sehun’s was from confidence born from his efforts. Yoonshin couldn’t say there were rights and wrongs to arrogance, but in his eyes, Sehun’s attitude was a lot more justified.

Yoonshin took his eyes off the documents and stared at Sehun. Sehun ended up staring just as intently back, whether from the enjoyment of Yoonshin’s gaze or discomfort. They were exchanging looks wordlessly, but Yoonshin couldn’t understand why he was starting to feel shy. Eventually, Yoonshin raised the white flag first. “I’m going to get off work early to go to the hospital today.”

Once he brought up the main point, dropping all the context, Sehun’s brows creased slightly. “Are you the ill one or someone else?”

“If I’m sick, would you be worried?” Yoonshin answered with another question.

“So, it’s someone else.”

Yoonshin’s shallow attempt was seen through. He leered at the other man. “Why didn’t this work on you?”

“My class is different from yours.”

Yoonshin couldn’t deny that, so the best he could do was change the topic. “Well, you didn’t bring it up first, so I’ll be the one asking again. Do you want to meet me tonight? I’ll buy you coffee.”

“Who do you think you are to ask if I want to meet you?”

Yoonshin carefully reviewed what he said for any problem. He asked again, less certain, “Could you… meet with me, please?”

“I’m busy.” After the terse answer, Sehun resumed concentrating on his work.

Taken aback, Yoonshin placed his documents on the desk and slammed his hands on the desk, bringing the attention back to him.

The man who said he didn’t like gluttons voraciously made out with him last night like a starved person. By virtue of that, Yoonshin felt like he could still feel the other man’s tongue inside his mouth. Numbness filled his mouth. He was left with only a slippery sensation after the bumpy papillae of his tongue were rubbed out by repeatedly being crushed against another.
