Chapter 6: Your ex blind.

As soon as the words fell, the atmosphere became dead silent.

“Laozi haven’t done exercise class for eight hundred years.”

Chi Wang was caught off guard and laughed. “Your bet is the most outrageous thing I’ve heard in so many years, what do you think?”

Su Lian responded indifferently, “That’s because you’re ignorant.”

Gu Anjiu laughed until his body shook when he imagined the appearance of these two people doing radio exercises in all seriousness with everybody watching. “You are too bad, how much standard is required? For example, like this?”

As he spoke, he spread his arms like wings.

Su Lian glanced at him, thinking to himself, you’ve made yourself settled.

“Let’s fight, it’s simple and rude.”

He1T/N: the raws said Chi Wang, however, it doesn’t match with the context and I’m not sure whether the author wants to say Su Lian but got confused and wrote Chi Wang instead, so I will just go with ‘he’. casually rolled up his school uniform sleeves, and layers of fabrics stacked up on top of each other, revealing strong muscle lines.

He hadn’t fought for a long time which made his hands a bit stiff.

However, the other party didn’t accept the bait. Thus, he said provocatively, “Is this the school bully of No.3 Middle School? You don’t dare?”

The amount of excitement was too extreme without any negotiation.

“Hey, no matter which one of us loses, it’s a shame for everyone.”

Chi Wang pondered for a while. After thinking it over, he raised his head with a solemn expression. “Change to another one, why don’t we bet on drinking your health congee for a month, is this sincere enough?”

As soon this was mentioned, his stomach began to churn involuntarily as if it was having a stressful disease.

Su Lian shook his head. “No, you just agreed to the previous one.”

As for the health congee, there was still a chance for the other party to drink after the improved version of it.

He didn’t know what kind of obsession this person had with doing exercise, so Chi Wang thought for a while and asked, “I say, are you not afraid of losing?”

Su Lian leaned against the door with a smile and said unhurriedly, “Afraid, but isn’t this becoming more exciting?”

Since the beginning when they met, this person had always been expressionless and would beat people with his fist ruthlessly. At this moment, when Su Lian suddenly smiled, his lips pursed slightly, the tail of his eyes raised, making Chi Wang see a trace of devilish aura.

He stared at him for a while and nodded. “Then it’s decided.”

Probably being tricked, he thought.

Su Lian replied with a smile. “Let’s wait and see.”

“Alright, since the bet is decided, our grievances are settled as well.” Gu Anjiu came over mysteriously. “Can I ask you about some gossip?”

Su Lian was in a good mood at this time, thus he said generously, “You ask.”

Gu Anjiu pretended to cough, looked around, and lowered his voice. “Rumor has it that you were selected by the five people during that period because you robbed someone’s girlfriend and provoked the big brother, so he came to trouble you, is it true?”

The smile that had just shown disappeared in an instant. Su Lian snorted, “What else did the rumor say?”

“It’s difficult to say.” Gu Anjiu cowardly shrunk his neck. “I’m afraid of being beaten.”

“Say it, I won’t beat you.”

“It’s said you not only robbed someone else’s girlfriend but also made the other party pregnant, and you cheated on four women, who already had boyfriends at the same time. It’s because of this, you were selected by the five people. I’m just conveying this gossip.”

Not daring to breathe, Gu Anjiu finished speaking everything in one breath. He crouched on the ground, covered his head while shivering.

The night wind swept in through the window, sending out a chill. The atmosphere in the room was strangely silent.

Su Lian inadvertently moved his knuckles, making a crisp sound.

Chi Wang lifted his eyes, staring at the face in the opposite door. Tsk, the devil emitting a murderous aura and turned into a killer in a second

He said casually, “We already made a bet, don’t kill.”

Su Lian’s fists loosened as he glanced at the ground coldly. “It’s fake, yet you believe it.”

“The main reason is that the person who spread this news described it with every detail. There is also a saying that one of your girlfriends is the school flower of your No.8 Middle School.”

Gu Anjiu slowly stood up, looking very disappointed, and added, “I saw the photo yesterday, really beautiful.”

Birds of a feather flock together, Su Lian was too lazy to deal with them, he turned around and entered the room.

Standing until his legs were sore, Chi Wang raised his hands, pushed the door and entered the room. “Goodnight brothers, see you tomorrow.”

Looking at the empty room on the opposite side, Su Lian couldn’t help asking, “Is he alone in that room?”

“Yeah.” This time, the little stutter answered quickly, but the next sentence got stuck again, “He is rich, rich, rich…”

“Rich second generation.” Lin Yan kindly helped him connect the words. “Master Wang’s family is very rich. He helped me with all those flashy methods. He indeed likes to make money.”

Su Lian’s movement in changing clothes paused, the Chi Wang he knew was in a poor family, and it didn’t look like he was pretending.

During that period, Chi Wang had just started his own business, there were only two suits to wear and the cuffs had also lost color. Su Lian hadn’t graduated from college at that time, the two of them were poor. Those days could be described as miserable conditions.

The past was too tragic to look back on.

Maybe something happened later that made this person completely change.

Su Lian drooped his eyes, not knowing when the change would happen.

“You seem to be very concerned about Chi Wang.” Lin Yan stared at Su Lian quietly for a moment, his eyes filled with query.

Su Lian returned to his senses, continued his movement just now, and answered indifferently, “No, I’m just asking randomly.”

After saying that, he added, “I go to bed at eleven o’clock, everyone should rest early.”

The indirect statement was obvious, don’t mess around at night.

Gu Anjiu, who was secretly threatened, shook his chubby hand that was pressing the keyboard, and cleverly lowered the scene brightness.

There was no other choice, the other party’s fists were powerful, they could only be forced to bow to the devil in the room.

Su Lian hadn’t experienced four people sleeping together for a long time and he was currently feeling a splitting headache.

A few roommates were disturbing enough. One slept unsteadily as his foot knocked against the bedstead, one snored continuously, and the other one was stammering, talking in his sleep. There were many various ways of doing things.

The symphony orchestra all f*cking got themselves together in the room at night.

After tossing from side to side for several hours, Su Lian stared at the white ceiling, his mind filled with the Great Compassion Mantra.

In a trance, he somehow missed staying with Chi Wang that day. The man slept motionlessly, didn’t have any strange hobbies, and he could sleep until dawn.

It’s just that their current relationship wasn’t suitable for them to sleep together.

Thinking about the embarrassment when waking up in the morning that day was comparable to social death, he’d rather not.

Su Lian lifted the quilt, got out of the bed quietly, turned on the small lamp on the desk, and quickly looked through the exercise book that he had noted during the evening self-study.

At 6:50, the three got up one after another, making the room become lively.

Gu Anjiu climbed down the ladder, staring blankly at the small lamp. “No way, you’re so serious about the bet? You read all night with the lamp on.”

“The alarm clock rang all night and I couldn’t sleep.”

“Really, why didn’t I hear it?”

Because you are the alarm clock.

For the sake of the friendship between roommates, he endured it without saying anything.

Su Lian closed the exercise book full of notes, went to the bathroom to wash his face with cold water, and brushed his teeth emotionlessly.

The pale face was reflected in the mirror and the eyes were pitch-black.

After washing, he casually threw the toothbrush into the cup, pointing to the six o’clock direction.

Today’s divination was between quadrant three and four, which meant it wasn’t so bad, barely made do with it.

When it came to exams, the atmosphere in the school was always filled with tension. The students who were clasping their hands and praying passed by in a hurry, the sound of rapid footsteps could be heard from distant and nearby. Su Lian looked up at the sky and discovered the simple school life that he hadn’t seen for a long time.

It seemed like the feeling of travelling back wasn’t bad.

Entering the exam room, Su Lian found his seat. Not surprisingly, it was the last one while several seats in front were empty.

In addition to the other three seats that were vacant, his eyes slowly swept aside, Chi Wang’s seat was actually in the front.

However, there wasn’t anything to be happy about, his heart didn’t even fluctuate.

Is there any difference between the last and the front? No.

When the bell rang, Chi Wang happened to turn his head and look over, caught a certain someone’s peeking gazes. The two of them were a few rows apart, thus their eyes met.

Su Lian didn’t hide, he just lifted his eyebrows in goading, then tapped his finger on the test paper, reminding the other party about last night’s bet.

“Come on.” Chi Wang propped his chin and mouthed the words at him.

This was the kind of respect toward the opponent.

“Don’t whisper during the exam.”

The invigilator was a young female teacher. She stared at the room that was full of slackers without much confidence. “Don’t look around and cheat. You can’t escape the eyes of the surveillance.”

There was laughter in the classroom as if it was a provocation.

The invigilator frowned, she smacked the desk twice. “Quiet and do your questions.”

Su Lian thought to himself, Chi Wang shouldn’t be cheap enough to the point of cheating during exams. He still believed in the other party.

Returning to the exam room after a few years, the unexpected feeling wasn’t particularly strange.

The tip of the pen was moving speedily. There were still twenty minutes before the end of the exam. Su Lian’s mind was calm as he clipped the exam paper.

He leaned back against the chair and glanced around. Some people were immersed in sleeping, scratching their ears, and doing things sneakily.

Only Chi Wang’s back was straight, and the pen in his hand moved rapidly.

The corner of Su Lian’s mouth arched up, this man was quite eager to win.

The exam time passed quickly. When the bell rang, everyone got up weakly and handed over the exam papers.

As soon as the exam rooms opened, a group of people rushed out like bees, went to the cafeteria to have lunch, making the corridor crowded in an instant.

Chi Wang came over from behind, hooking Su Lian’s shoulder excitedly. “How is the test?”

“It’s alright.” Su Lian shook off the other party’s hand.

Chi Wang nodded slightly and patted him sympathetically. “I feel extremely good at this time. Sorry, you might need to practice the exercise in advance.”

Unrestrained and arrogant, just like his name.

Su Lian: “…”

He suspected that there was no word modest in Chi Wang’s dictionary.

“Hey, let me ask you, what did you select in the last multiple-choice question?” Gu Anjiu came over and said in annoyance, “I don’t understand what the question is about.”

Chi Wang: “B.”

Lin Yan: “A.”

Su Lian: “C.”

“F*ck, I chose D, and all the options have been selected.” Gu Anjiu touched his chest and let out a long sigh. “Ah, as expected of us.”

Su Lian: “…”

Out of the three people, none of them could get right. Besides, the possibility of winning the double color ball lottery was estimated to be greater than this.

“A group of slackers still have the face to compare the answers.” A boy wearing glasses muttered as he passed by them, bumping into Su Lian’s shoulders fiercely.

Chi Wang clicked his tongue and opened his mouth to stop the person. “Ai Xuexi, don’t you apologize when bumping into someone?”

“You’re blocking the way, slacker.” Ai Xuexi pushed his glasses, he glanced at those few people with disgust showing on his face.

Su Lian shoved his hands in his pockets and said indifferently, “The mouth is used to talk. Don’t you know whether the path is blocked or you just want to look for trouble?”

Although he knew that these people weren’t easy to provoke, Ai Xuexi was an arrogant person and in his heart, he looked down on those trashes whose grades were counting from the bottom.

Relying on his good grades, and always getting special treatment from the teachers, his mouth didn’t show any mercy at all. “Slackers are slackers, you’re blocking the way and you still think you’re right?”

“Your mouth is full of slackers. Listening to your tone, your grade is pretty good?” Su Lian asked lightly.

Gu Anjiu quickly distinguished the enemy and his camp. He then whispered about the current situation to Su Lian’s ear, “Brother Lian, he is the first in our class.”

Ai Xuexi raised his chin and said proudly, “It’s only tenth rank.”

“It’s kind of interesting.” Su Lian had once experienced this, so he said with some regret, “It still needs to make great efforts.”

Ai Xuexi laughed angrily. “You have more than two characters compared to me when counting from the bottom. Right, I haven’t counted from the bottom to the tenth rank yet, you are…”

“The last one…”

Like a primary school chicken2T/N: Primary school chicken: 小学鸡 (xiǎoxuéjī) it is also frequently used to describe people who are immature, petty, and go out of their way to pick fights, so this is one insult that can be applied to anyone, regardless of their age., his deliberately loud and extended tone was full of sarcasm.

Su Lian raised his eyelids. “Do you want to make a bet?”

Chi Wang was surprised, looking at him sideways. “Are you addicted to betting?”

He didn’t know what this wolf was fighting for when the game was surely lost.

There was a small group of busybodies around, they were eavesdropping on their conversation.

Watching the fun wasn’t a big problem, someone jeered, “Don’t be a coward. Just bet, whoever loses will shout Grandpa.”

“I don’t have any plans to accept a grandson for the time being.” Su Lian’s expression remained unmoved, he said lightly, “Bet who ranks higher in this exam, the loser will go do the radio room and say I’m rubbish. Bet or not?”

“Brother Lian, are you crazy?” Gu Anjiu tugged the corner of his jacket frantically and placated him, “Don’t be impulsive, don’t be impulsive, we can play on our own so as to not lose face.”

“It’s decided, everyone heard it. Don’t go back on your words.” Ai Xuexi snorted coldly, holding the book in his hands, and turned around arrogantly.

Before he could take two steps, Chi Wang stretched out his hand and grabbed the other party’s back collar. “You haven’t apologized to Su Lian yet.”

“I’m sorry, this should be enough.” Ai Xuexi was sure to win, he raised his chin in provocation “Classmate Su Lian, waiting for your good news.”

Staring at the other party’s arrogant back, Lin Yan said disdainfully, “This idiot is looking for a beating.”

“Is it too late for me to give him a laxative tonight? At least, he takes fewer exams and I think Brother Lian might have a chance to win.” Gu Anjiu touched his chin and thought seriously, “What type of laxative is more effective?”

Lin Yan took out his phone and solemnly said, “How about I search for it?”

After such a commotion, Su Lian was inexplicably in a good mood. “Let’s go, treat you to a meal.”

Chi Wang didn’t know what was wrong with this new deskmate. Could it be that he had become stupid during the Chinese exam?

Making such a bet that would lose, he began to worry about Su Lian’s future.

After entering the cafeteria, the aroma of the food was drifting around. Su Lian felt like he had been thinking all morning, and he was hungry right now. He just said treating them, so after paying the meal generously for four people, the meal card that wasn’t prosperous enough became even worse.

Su Lian held the plate and sank into deep thoughts. Perhaps, he should join the share of the Internet cafe and make money with them.

“What are you thinking?” Chi Wang sat on the right side, his long legs stretching restlessly.

He took a pair of chopsticks and put the red braised pork in Su Lian’s bowl and said, “This is the signature dish of the No.3 Middle School. I haven’t touched it yet, have a try?”

Su Lian was stunned for a second, then he suddenly lifted his eyes, looking at the other person, wanting to say something but hesitated.

It’s strange that this man happened to pick his favorite food.

“You don’t have to look at me so emotionally, it’s just a piece of red braised pork.”

He didn’t know if the sun was too strong, but Chi Wang’s smile was dazzling.

Su Lian pursed his lips, putting the food in his mouth, and said a few words, “En, it’s delicious. Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” His smile was even more attractive.

The three people next to him were chatting and joking. However, Su Lian didn’t talk much since he couldn’t find a place to insert his words, hence he simply immersed himself in eating.

Gu Anjiu knew a lot of gossips. He talked about his school to other schools, about the first year of high school to the third year of high school, and somehow turned back to Su Lian.

“I take the liberty to ask, why did you transfer school?” Gu Anjiu couldn’t hold back and looked at him with curiosity.

Su Lian drank the soup unhurriedly. “Just want to change the place and the mood.”

As soon as these words were spoken, the three people quickly exchanged glances and blurted out all kinds of guesses.

Lin Yan: “Break up.”

Gu Anjiu: “To pursue love.”

After listening to the two versions of guessing, Chi Wang added slowly, “Because of love, it’s not worth it.”

Su Lian answered for the first time, “Why?”

“It’s true? Because of love?” Chu Wang looked at him with a lost expression, slightly surprised.

Su Lian said vaguely, “Yeah, I guess.”

Gu Anjiu got first-hand gossip, he wished he could use the cafeteria radio to broadcast. “Heaven! The school bully of No.8 Middle School transferred school because he is heartbroken. A shocking gossip!”

“Keep your voice down.” Lin Yan covered his mouth with wet tissue paper. “Even the meatball can’t stop you.”

Su Lian was absent-minded. So, it wasn’t worth traveling back.

He still didn’t have the answer to this question.

After the other party disclosed his feeling, the atmosphere was silent, no one dared to continue this topic.

Chi Wang held his chin, staring at Su Lian for a while. The cool brother’s tone was at a loss when mentioning his ex, his long eyelashes droop while his beautiful eyes filled with sadness.

Looking left and right, he felt this person was quite pathetic, and he had to enlighten the other person.

“Although you look cold, you aren’t bad. You even know how to bring me health congee.”

Chi Wang felt pity, thus he patiently comforted, “It’s fine, breakup is breakup, the next one should be nicer. Your ex isn’t good at first glance, she is blind, she is heartless and without a sense of shame.”

Su Lian lowered his eyes. Alright, I’ll give you a chance to scold yourself a few more words.

He moved the pointer back and listened three times. The more he listened, the more amused he was.

While holding back his smile, he heard Chi Wang say, “To sum it up, the one who broke up with you is an idiot.”

Su Lian stared at him sideways and nodded thoughtfully, “That’s true.”

The author has something to say:
