The darkness that once was trying to devour was being pushed back by the light. The darkness tried to push back, but suddenly, the pure light became fire, and Brimstone was finally created.
"Cultivators gather Life energy to break through and reach the higher levels of body cultivation. But the problem is, while Life energy flows within a cultivator, he still has a body of death. I see. So this is what Strafe didn't tell me. Death in Life and Life in Death. But a real saint's body... one that can perform Bodily severing needs to have no death in life!" Dyne was enlightened.
With this understanding, Dyne began to control the excess death energy that Brimstone was converting. Dyne began to circulate it around Dyne's body and was slowly improving his Pseudo-Saint Body.
Dyne's efforts in building up his body in Legaia had allowed him to convert a minuscule amount. But now, the changes happening could now be quantified in numbers. Of the entire Death energy that made up every cell in Dyne's body, 0.01% became Life Energy. And while this would have caused a grave in balance and harmed a person's body, the method that Dyne did this miraculously maintained a balance.
Dyne broke through Martial Advent level 6 and reached level 7.
The Brimstone began to eat the energy, and the darkness was slowly purged and made into light. The more the Brimstone ate, the more light appeared.
Strafe finally sighed in relief.
“Slime God, your recklessness paid off. Tsk. I wish I had your decisiveness. I am too soft. I care too much of Dyne’s well-being…” Strafe sighed. While he was called a cheapskate by Dyne, the truth was, Strafe was too soft. The Slime God saw this and showed Strafe the extremity of what he should be doing. Dyne was a monster and deserved such treatment.
The method he showed Strafe was far too reckless and crazy. And yet, it paid off. The darkness that the Slime God sent was only designed to attack and not retreat. It had some form of sentience, but now that Dyne had managed to awaken the Brimstone, the darkness did not retreat or fight back but allowed itself to become food for the devouring Brimstone.
“Great pain that gives great rewards. He’s reaching it. Soul Gathering level 1! His skill in Soul power is now like a Ra-Seru! And on top of that, he has finally started in changing the Death Essence of his body!” Strafe smiled as he saw the Elemental Spirit Seed grow.
A thick pool of dark ooze was being sent out of Dyne's body. The fire that was rushing all around his body was burning it. Dyne’s skin was also undergoing a rebirth.
The black ooze that was burned fell like ashes to the ground.
The Ra-Seru Egg was also glowing. Soon, the shards of the egg were crumbling into dust.
Rena had already released a powerful bright light to hide Dyne from plain sight. She knew full well what the Ra-Seru egg was. Dyne had already stated that it was his Soul artifact and decided to use this magic to hide Dyne’s appearance under the pretense of healing him.
Rena didn’t stop but released as much as she can to hide the appearance of these items.
“Rena?” Lucas asked.
“Please close the door, father! And the windows too!” She shouted, making Lucas and Trina jolt and act immediately.
“Tell the villagers that this is Dyne’s secret cultivation method, and those who peak will be killed!” Rena added.
Lucas and Trina did the same thing. Lucas was even more adamant as he howled like a madman to the villagers and shouted at them.
While other villagers weren’t at the entrance when Dyne made a scene, seeing that even Boaz didn’t make a move, the uninformed ones hesitated and wondered just how strong this Dyne was.
Grim had also moved and released a holy light which was now aiding Dyne. When Dyne was attacked, the soul link between the two was cut, and Grim didn’t know what to do. Now that Dyne had recovered and his soul had awakened, Grim immediately acted according to Dyne’s orders.
The Ra-Seru egg crumbled, and a small purple object, the size of a small stone, broke free from the chrysalis. The purple stone suddenly moved and attached itself to Dyne’s right arm. Just like Songi, the Ra-Seru Jedo had connected itself on Dyne’s wrist.
The Ra-Seru Jedo has awakened.
Jedo did not hesitate but immediately began to absorb the powerful dark energy the Brimstone was consuming.
Gyoro and Ururun stood on the middle part of Dyne’s arm. Gyoro extended its head towards the heart and kept gathering the Brimstone energy. At the same time, Ururun stuck his head towards the wrist of Dyne’s arm where Jedo was.
The energy around Dyne continued to circulate the energy. His clothes began to burn up, and Gyoro suddenly took a deep breath that absorbed the fire.
Dyne had reached a state of euphoria as he felt a nourishing sensation. His soul was growing larger and larger.
“Hm? Jedo?” Dyne called out as he meditated.
“What happened to you? Who attacked you?” Jedo immediately asked.
“Well, hello to you too! I wasn’t attacked. Another being at the same strength and power as Strafe or Tieg attacked me. And boy, that slime is a sadist.”
“What?” Jedo was confused.
“That’s what it is. He wanted to help me grow stronger, and so he sent this dark thing. So I’m assuming that you broke out of your shell because of his dark power?”
“… His powers were far beyond mine. Is this the world that you spoke of?”
“Erm… Can we talk later? I’m sort of right in the middle of something.” Dyne laughed.
“Fine. Hm? You’ve reached Level 1 already?! Damn you! Don’t think you’ve beaten me yet!” Jedo rudely scoffed and went silent.
Dyne could feel that his connection with Jedo was hindered.
“What’s his problem?” Dyne frowned.
Dyne cast all questions to the side and continued cultivating. While the heat and fire around his body had long died out, he was still in the process of rebuilding his soul.
Back at the house, Rena wasn’t casting her magic anymore. Her parents had convinced the villagers to move away, and the doors were shut. But glancing back at Dyne’s naked body, they couldn’t help but marvel. The brimstone area had spread and covered most of his chest region.
“What’s that purple bracelet on Master Dyne’s arm?” Lucas asked.
“Why is his scythe moving?!” Trina asked.
“Those are powerful Soul Weapons. But according to Little brother, the purple bracelet is far stronger than the scythe.”

“So-Soul Weapon?!”
“That’s why I made you close the door, Father. We cannot leak anything out! That small serpent in Dyne’s body is also strong! The Kong Apes are afraid of it! It’s also very strong!”
Lucas and Trina looked at each other with a worried expressions.
“Rena… This little brother of yours… He is something that is very far beyond us!”
“He is.” Rena nodded.
“And right now, he needs our help. Father. He saved my life. I know what you two are thinking. Helping this little brother of mine will draw more troubles.”
“No! You misunderstand. I want you to go with him! Forget about us and this village and go! Forget about the promises you’ve made! Dyne can help you go elsewhere and be free from all of this!”
“I won’t leave you. And I don’t think, Little brother would want me to…”
“Rena. This village is doomed! You have to escape! You know that we are not your parents! Your real parents, maybe someone whose identity won’t lose to Dyne!”
“Little Brother promised that he could save this village,” Rena answered again.
“This village is doomed! But with the gold that he has, even if he gave you just a quarter of it, you’d be set for life! You could even live in a Sanctuary! But here, the war that is approaching will drive this village to desolation!”
“Not if I can help it.” Dyne opened his eyes.
“Little Brother!”
“Master Dyne!”
“I’m fine…” Dyne answered weakly. And then his face grew red.
“Erm… Can you guys spare a pair of pants or something?” Dyne laughed with an embarrassed expression.
“Younger Brother, what happened?”
Dyne looked at his hand and realized that the book he held was already burnt.
“Sorry, I burned your book. I’ll have to make up with your friend when we see each other.” Dyne laughed with an embarrassed expression.
“Little Brother! Don’t scare me like that! You nearly died!”
“Yeah. I really did.” Dyne had a sour expression on his face.
“Are all gods maniacs? One is a cheapskate, and the other is a sadist. Going by this trend, I should meet a perverted goddess who could be a shotacon or something…” Dyne calculated his fate.
“What?” Rena asked.
“Never mind. Is that everything?” Dyne noticed a pile of food, herbs, weapons, and pills by the side.
“Master Dyne! I have a-”
“I heard what you were talking about. The answer is no. I won’t take Rena. I’ve already promised to save her and this village. And I can do it.”
“Master Dyne. I know that you are strong. But against a Mid-Level city, it’s not enough! They have warriors and soldiers that make Boaz look like some weak child! They have Martial Formation stage masters there! That is the equal of the Kong Ape Primes!”
“Relax! Cultivators fight against the heavens. What hope do you have to ascend if you are already afraid of the Martial Formation cultivators? We just take things one step at a time and fight them.” Dyne explained.
Lucas and Trina were shocked at his words.
“Besides. I command a village. And I have a feeling that they will soon have the strength to defeat a Mid-Level village.” Dyne smirked as he looked at Jedo.
“Hmph. You’re dreaming. While I have awakened, I don’t have enough energy to cast those spells! I am not like those other Ra-Seru! I am a Ra-Seru of Death! And right now, I am unstable!” Jedo snubbed.
Dyne’s raised his eyebrow at hearing Jedo’s words.
“Unstable?” Dyne asked.
“That voice? Who was that voice?” Rena asked in confusion.
“You heard that?” Dyne was stunned.
“What? Rena? What’s going on?” Trina asked worriedly.
“Don’t worry, Mam. It looks like Rena has the potential to be a Soul Cultivator! Rena, that’s my Soul Weapon you’re hearing.” Dyne laughed as he pointed to Jedo.
“The Soul Weapon? It can talk?” Rena was startled.
“For now… Let me rest a bit. I’m quite tired. I think we should spend one more night here before moving out.” Dyne explained.
“Including it seems I will have to explain a lot and discuss our plans in the forest.” Dyne smiled.
