Dyne watched at the man who was in his last moments and trembled with great excitement.
“You’re death… will be avenged.” Dyne offered a quick prayer.
“Now, to save your life!” Dyne immediately shoved a combination of berries down the mouth of the man. Dyne infused it with a thick layer of Life energy, which increased the fruit's potency.
The man was shocked as Dyne shoved a berry down his throat. But upon entry to his mouth, the medicinal properties of the berries began to work.
The wound began to heal, and the blood he had lost began to recover and heal him.
Strafe saw it and could not help but feel nostalgic.
The first time he met Dyne, he offered him medicine which helped in recovering his blood. And now, he was doing it to another man.
Dyne kept feeding the man, and the man kept chewing.
“There are three more who are still alive. I’ll try to save them. Rest here and pretend to be dead. Grim, help me out here.” Dyne ordered.
As the apes were still busy with the battle, Grim’s appearance didn’t draw any attention.
Grim followed Dyne’s mental orders and began to pile up the body in a way that hid the surviving humans.
Dyne rotated in feeding them the various herbs and even the more potent medicine he acquired from the group. Dyne had left a small portion of items to the group but carried most herbs, pills, and potions with him in the Monster Hive.
But even then, Dyne was impressed with the healing items in Legaia, which were extremely powerful. In fact, Dyne’s combination of herbs was designed to imitate the Healing leaf!
While Dyne was helping the group recover, Strafe continued to talk with Dyne.
“It looks like the fate that is set before you is to play more games. I never would imagine such a coincidence! The Basileus Basileon sure is amazing…” Strafe praised.
“I know, right?! Diablo’s scenario popped up? Going by this, it seems we can already guess what’s down there!”
“We- We can?” Strafe was curious.
“Yes. It should be similar to Diablo! The lost prince was sent inside to contain the power of the meteor's core. I figured that Rena’s childhood friend would follow the same fate in Star Ocean 2’s first boss!”
“Right. In the game, a green stone was the cause of making Rena’s childhood friend act crazy. You mean to say that a similar stone is down there?”
“Yes. Because of that greenstone, Alex, Rena’s friend, became a monster! Something similar should be happening here. It seems that this dungeon has become a very important element and component in the game! I mean… in this place. It should be linked with Merkley and even Trithefert!”
“How sure are you about this?” Strafe asked.
“It should be related to the preparations and the plans of my God! If he can make Diablo appear here, you can bet that it's going to be a rewarding game experience! Recall the many quests in Diablo! Many of them should make an appearance here. And in the game, some quests will result in rewards that I can get in the city.”
Soon the people that Dyne saved were no longer in a critical state. They continued to lie down, and Dyne had to crouch down and care for them. Apart from the first knight that Dyne rescued, Dyne was able to save a dark woman in robes who appeared to be a mage of some sort. The third person rescued is a burly, bald warrior who did not have heavy armor like the knight but wore fur and leather armor. The last person that Dyne rescued was a woman who wore light armor. She had no sword sheaths or shields, and Dyne concluded she was an archer.
“Hmm… It looks like my God’s quite detailed. And I thought the devil is into the details! I remember that Diablo had an add-on game in the PC release that featured a new character. So, all in all, I have a knight, an archer, a mage, and a monk. These are the four protagonists of Diablo!” Dyne looked at the group he had just saved.
“How is this possible?” Jedo couldn’t help but wonder.
“It's all because of the God in my world. He must have arranged destiny to get me here. And his timing is quite impressive. If I arrived any later, these four would be dead.”
“That God… It makes Tieg look weak.” Jedo marveled.
“Strafe thinks that a thousand of him couldn’t match this God who they call Basileus Basileon. It's as if the fates of gods like Tieg are but toys to Him.
“But why is the Sorcerer a girl?” Jedo wondered.
“Hmm… I remember that Diablo 2 used a sorceress instead of a sorcerer. Maybe he did that? Ugh. Diablo 2… I wish I played that…” Dyne lamented and cursed his lack of access to computers. The only time he managed to briefly play Diablo 2 was when he infiltrated the Kremlin and found a computer that had the game. Sadly, for the sake of clarifying that Russia was not colluding with a certain world terrorist, Dyne had to find the Russian traitor and escape before he got spotted. He only played long enough to clear the Den of Evil before he moved to save the world from nuclear holocaust.
“Thank you… for saving us.” The knight muttered as he recovered.
“Can you guys walk?” Dyne asked immediately.
The group nodded as they looked at each other. They were surprised how the medicine managed to mend most of their wounds.
“The wounds haven’t fully healed… But moving and fighting shouldn’t be a problem.”
“Our priority isn’t to fight. But to escape.” Dyne shook his head.
“First of all… I hope that I can trust you…” Dyne gave them a strange look.
“Young friend… We are bound to honor. Even if we have to die to save you and get you out of here, we will do so! Only please relay what happened here to the Kingdom of Sork!”
“Kingdom? So you’re from a Sanctuary?”
“No. Our Kingdom’s strength as a Sanctuary has waned since the last decade. We hold the power of a Mid-Level City.”
“Hm… As expected. May I know your names?”
“I am Jaden.” The Knight answered.

“Ishreth.” The female sorcerer answered.
“Amorien. But just call me Raven, young hero.” The archer answered.
“Chad.” The Monk answered.
“Chad?” Dyne repeated.
The Monk nodded.
Dyne gave him a suspicious look.
“Why Chad?” Dyne mumbled.
“I’m sorry?” The Monk asked.
“Ne-Nevermind.” Dyne ignored and began to mix more herbs that were magically appearing on his hands.
The four warriors were amazed.
“Dimensional Storage…” Ishreth muttered.
But while the group was marveling, Dyne was talking to Strafe to discuss an important and relevant question that he couldn’t get out of his mind.
“Jaden is close to Aidan. The canonical name of the knight in Diablo, who becomes Diablo or the Dark Wanderer in Diablo 2. Ishreth is pretty close to Jazreth. The sorcerer in Diablo, who I read, became an evil summoner in Diablo 2. And Amorien is an anagram of Moreina. The Rogue archer in Diablo who becomes Blood Raven in Diablo 2.” Dyne recalled the many pages he online about Diablo 2.
“But Chad…” Dyne wondered.
“The Sovereign is just having fun with you! Forget it and move on!” Strafe was exasperated at Dyne’s eccentric worries.
“I know… it’s just… Never mind.” Dyne shook his head.
“Alright, gang. We’ll be moving you out of here. I can’t leave you here now.”
“I understand. We will fight to the death if we have to!”
“Um… No. We will be running like little girls rushing for their favorite KPOP star.”
“What?”
“Grim. I’m counting on you. Show them the might of a Level 2 Gimard!” Dyne smiled as he held Grim, who became a scythe once more.
“Soul Weapon!” Ishreth marveled.
Dyne took Grim and threw it with all his might. His throw contained Spirit and Grim flew towards the thick trees in the forest. The apes could not see the flying scythe who flew further to reach a greater distance.
“Alright. Two at a time. Two of you, follow me. Sir Jaden. Help me. A few moments from now, Grim will attack and distract the Apes. We will attack that Kong Ape over there. I want you to grab his head and smash it into the ground with all your might. Later, it will be Chad’s turn to do that. Lady Ishreth, you follow us. I have an artifact that can shroud us with a cloak and another to allow us to flee from an enemy. Just do as I say, and you will get out of here, unharmed. Am I clear?”
The knight and the sorceress had a peculiar expression on their face, but they nodded anyway.
“Great! Get ready. I am communicating with my Soul weapon, who should be attacking… now.”
ROAR!
A cry of a Kong Ape shouted again as Grim viciously stabbed it. Dyne hadn’t allowed Grim to fight with the Kong Apes before since he was trying to impress Rena. But now, Grim fought a Kong Ape all by itself.
The Kong Apes heard the cry and began to move towards the source of the sound. Only one Kong Ape was left who guarded the fence.
Dyne urged the group and ran. The Golden Compass shrouded them, and while the group was shocked at its effect, they kept running.
Jaden readied his might. He jumped up and grabbed the Kong Ape by the head and smashed it into the ground.
BANG!
Dyne followed up by delivering a powerful stomp. Then, borrowing from the Monster Hive's Earth energy and using his own Brimstone power, Dyne sent the head of the Kong Ape deeper and hardened the earth below.
Dyne immediately ran. Jaden and Ishreth followed, and then a powerful force affected them, causing them to run with great speed.
The trio managed to run deep into the forest unnoticed.
Grim followed Dyne’s orders and, after killing one ape, would assume his scythe form and remain stabbed to the dead Kong Ape. The rest who arrived would scream in anger and search for the attacker. Grim would then follow another Kong Ape, kill it, and revert back to being a scythe.
While Grim was doing this, Dyne had led the group into an area where there were thick shrubs of Eucalyptus Saint bushes.
“Hide here and don’t make a sound. I’ll be going back to get the others.” Dyne smiled and rushed back towards the cave entrance.
Dyne disappeared, and soon, a howling sound was heard as Dyne attacked one of the Kong Apes and absorbed Grim back to Jedo’s soul space. With the added speed, Dyne managed to quickly go back to the cave entrance and make another stomp at the Kong Ape trying to get his head off the ground.
After meeting with Chad and Amorien, Dyne ran back, stomping the poor Kong Ape to activate the Chicken King again.
