The group quickly began to work on Dyne’s design, and soon, the device was completed.

A small stone platform with arching pillars and numerous runes was being crafted on the pillars. Strafe eventually agreed to help make the portal more effective and even taught Dyne the basics of Rune Enchantment.

Soon, the stone platform was set up, and only the last runes were engraved.

“Finally, stoic and cheap little Strafe is agreeing to give me something!” Dyne laughed.

“It’s sort of cheating. I feared this might make you create weapons and make your journey here in Legaia easier. But your obsession with the game and your desire to fulfill every dream will pit you with more terrifying impossibilities. So I’ll help you out with this.” Strafe answered.

“I think I understand now. You want to play the game and have a few cheats but aren’t cheats. In this case, you want to play Legaia with as many Ra-Seru eggs to start and level with…” Jedo spoke.

“Correct. It just doesn’t feel right that all the Ra-Serus get an unfair amount of Genesis Tree. And sadder still is the fact that you never get the chance to awaken the other Ra-Serus. So this time, I want a team with new optional characters. I’m actually counting on Fate to make things hard for me so I’d have a fun game!”

“But people will die!” Jedo argued.

“So? Aerith died. Playable characters die in the Suikoden game if the player doesn’t know how to play the game well. And, of course, Fire Emblem deaths are annoying. And let’s not forget Hardcore mode in Diablo 2! Perma-deaths are even common handicaps that players do in their games. I will aim for a perfect game, but this is a game. It’s even scary since I’m dealing with real lives.”

Jedo was shocked. Strafe simply sighed.

“This is Dark Brimstone. He has a twisted form of thinking. It’s even scarier than wicked men like your greedy nature, Jedo. For in his case, it transcends greed. He just wants to have fun at the expense of others. He sees everyone in this cultivation world as game characters. Unless someone who isn’t from this world is here, I doubt he’ll think any more of them. Especially since his allies imitate the game characters he is playing.” Strafe explained.

Dyne ignored the two talks and observed the measurements one more time.

“This looks about right. Time to bring out the source to create the portal even when we are away! Thank goodness we found and even empowered one!” Dyne laughed and brought it out.

Finally, Dyne revealed something that amazed the Gobu Gobus. It was the Evil God Totem.

“Eh? What's going on?” The Evil God wondered as he saw the fire seed and the strange platform with several pillars created.

“These runes… They look like the one in Uru Mais!” The Evil God realized.

“Oh… Interesting!” Dyne smiled.

“Another side-quest, Strafe?” Dyne asked.

“I did that to get you started with Rune words which will be used in Brigandine. That world uses Rune Words a lot. Think about it! Even the very spells they have, like the Nightmare’s Dimension spell, are something that people on the planet you are on can't do! Brigandine was designed to be another high-difficulty, high-reward world. Completing it should give you a terrifying advantage in the Cultivation World. But…”

“There were more troubles in the first world I came into that even Merkley have creatures using Rune words…” Dyne chuckled.

“Is this a portal? It’s like it follows the same power that I used to get to Legaia!” The Evil God asked Dyne.

“Yes, it is. Evil God. You must have recovered quite a bit from all those Serus you absorbed.”

“Sure did. And those were plenty of Serus! So I could access a bit of my power. You want me to create a portal, right?”

“As expected of a God! Yes. The runes I created will help you absorb energy from the Fire Seed, allowing you to keep a portal open for a long time. I’ve instructed the Monks and Hunters to hunt and offer you creatures. With their team, they should easily give you enough energy that you would be recovering more than what you will spend.”

“I’m down with that. It seems you will be going back to the world of Tieg.”

“Only for a bit. I need to get more allies for the impossible trip ahead.”

“I know. I’ve felt it. Fate is restless. And my connection to the monster kings can feel the changes. You are crazy to go against Fate, Dyne.”

“It’s a necessary step,” Dyne said as he placed the Evil God near the altar where the Wizard Ore was.

“This stone is amazing!” The Evil God praised.

“It even has the power of Jedo in it!”

“It was used as a device to transfer worlds. So it’s natural that it has it. Jedo will cast the first spell, but try to see if you can maintain it.”

“Who do you think you’re talking to? I’m the Evil God. Jedo and Yami were taken from my likeness.” The Evil God chuckled.

Everyone gathered as the final steps were being done.

“Everyone, I’ll open the portal now. Don’t be afraid to step inside. But, as discussed, give the first person several seconds to recover before walking in.” Dyne reminded. He then touched the Wizard Stone with the Evil God Totem next to it and used Jedo and the Imaginarium Bond.

A bright portal was opened. But somehow, the portal that was created was familiar.

“Jedo…! You shouldn’t have!” Dyne was in tears. Jedo harnessed his power and created a Town Portal similar to Diablo 1.

“Evil God?” Dyne asked.

“Don’t worry. This is easier than I thought. Do I have to synch with this strange power that Jedo is releasing? It’s like he’s tapping onto the world itself!”

“Well, he is. It’s hard to explain.” Dyne turned around and glanced at everyone.

The Ra-Seru heroes, the Monks, and the Hunters could see the other end of the portal as it began to show a clearer picture.

Rena saw her parents and a priestly man.

“That’s…! Bishop Chrone!” Rena recognized him.

“Oh, right! I forgot that you served the Temple of Light. You would know him. That’s right. Let’s go!”

The group took a step out and moved back to the Cultivation world.

The Ra-Seru heroes glanced at each other and nodded as they stepped inside.

Unlike the previous teleportation attempt, there were now two affixed places. Dyne stepped out of the portal and was brought to where Rena’s parents stood guard. But now, there were certain changes as the couple had more help fortifying the place.

“Lord Dyne! You’re back!” Chrone called out.

“Bishop Chrone.” Rena bowed as she emerged.

“You! I know you! You served at the Temple of Light! You were being urged to be the next Saintess!”

“My town needed me.”

“You’re from Merkley? I never investigated.”

“How is Merkley?” Dyne asked.

“It’s safe for now. But there are three armies here. We found out that the Afarit’s brothers are here.”

“Hmm. Mephisto and Baal, huh?” Dyne guessed.

“Actually, Master… It’s Mephistopheles and Baalzebub.” Ifrit spoke.

Chrone heard it and turned to Dyne’s gun. He felt strange darkness and wickedness in the gun.

“Lord Dyne! What is that?”

“I managed to tame half of the soul of the Afarit. Long story. Anyway, is there any trouble? I brought a team here. Although they are weak in terms of cultivation, they practice Spirit arts. So a good way to estimate is to consider everyone at least two or three levels higher than what you see their cultivation is. Of course, I doubt they can help fight in a war, but with the right tactics, they can help. ” Dyne explained.

“If Lord Dyne says so, who am I to argue? There are several problems. The armies have sent their scouts deep within the region. They are trying to corner Lord Jaden and King Leoric’s team, which have been waging war in the woods.”

“I see. Have they found this fort yet?”

“No. King Leoric and the rest began to set up small fortresses around the area to hide this one. They also needed it as the forces were more powerful, and siege weapons had appeared. Merkley will fall if they manage to attack. If not for Emera, who acts as a scout, we would have been all conquered long ago.”

“Alright. We’ll be on the offensive soon. I have weapons that you all can use. This should push back the enemy.” Dyne smiled.

“Weapons?”

“Soul Weapons. The Serus. This will allow Martial Novice experts to cast spells that could injure Martial Formation experts! And there are a lot of them!”

“Soul Weapons?!”

“Yes. Theeders, to be exact. Born in a cave as pure Serus, and can survive outside of the Mist. You shall see their power soon! The chocobos and Piuras will soon start the delivery. Right now, I need to get my team.”

“I’m rather intrigued by this. Here is a map of where our teams created those forts. But if you can wait, Emera should be headed here for another report soon.”

“Alright. I still have to help these people settle here.”

“It worked!” A young man laughed. Dyne turned around, and this man tried to wear a Seru. It was a Gimard.

All of a sudden, the young man’s strength rose to another level.

Chrone was amazed at sight.

“Amazing!”

“Hey! Can someone get this man a Vera?” Dyne called out.
