The mage led Dyne into the center of the magic runic formation that powered the entire fort.

At the center of it, all was a gem of the terrifying fire element.

The magic in the gem was causing the gem to produce and create energy continuously.

Dyne had already known what this was from the books that he had absorbed. But seeing it with his own eyes still caused him to marvel.

“A Magic Generating Fire Gem. Looking at it closely, it’s like that Fire Seed in Legaia! But this gem needs runic formations, unlike the Fire Seed, which seemed to have a natural ability to draw energy from the geothermal heat and amplify it.”

“The Fire Seed is a god-tiered artifact. So you could say that all Magic Generating Gems are based on the power and ability of the Fire Seed and other seeds of similar power.”

“So basically, this is like a power plant. But the runic words it’s using are too weak… Perfect! I’ll destroy this and take it away with me!” Dyne decided.

“This is the Magic Generating Fire Gem.” The mage was introduced.

“The entire fort is powered by this gem. With magic stones that Are used to ignite the power of the gem.”

“How do you recharge the magic stones? Do you guys pour your magic into it?”

“Yes! It takes three mages of at least the first level of Martial Formation to be drained of all their mana to recharge the magic stones. And it will keep functioning for three days.” The mage explained.

“I see. What is this Gem made of?”

“Crystallized Magic Essence. It looks like it's made of glass, but it’s as hard as a diamond!” The mage bragged.

“Oh. Those things are hard! I guess I have to use Trance to destroy it.” Dyne nodded.

“What?” The Mage was surprised, but as he turned, Dyne had already been glowing with a strange pinkish light that reflected like a rainbow.

SMASH!

Dyne punched the mage and sent him flying toward a few mages guarding the area.

“Kill him!” The other mages reacted instantly and began to shoot fireballs at it.

But suddenly, a massive figure appeared out of nowhere. It was like a large hand, and it charged and tackled the mages at the back.

BOOM!

The Zenoir had emerged and attacked the mages, and the speedy Choco also began to rush to the side and attack them.

The mages at the front recovered and roared angrily. The mage that flew towards them was dead as his face was caved inside.

They began to channel magic energy to attack, but Dyne was a step ahead of them.

Dyne had absorbed the Mist and spurred his emotions to reveal the power of the Berserker. It was another fold stronger than the time that Dyne used it in Merkley.

The power of Brimstone gathered, and Dyne used the second Trance attack that Zidane learned in Final Fantasy IX.

“Tidal Flame!” Dyne shouted, and a thick amount of Brimstone shot out like a massive fire wave that crashed toward the entire defenses.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Explosions occurred as the attack caused the gem to turn unstable. Magic devices went wild all over the fort, and some other devices simply blew up.

As the attack of Dyne settled, there was a large hole in the Magic Generating Fire Gem, and very hot energy began to burn out of it.

“You… idiot… You will blow up that gem! You’re going to die with us!” One of the mages who survived used his last strength to taunt Dyne.

But Dyne ignored the mage.

“I’ve been looking for such potent hot energy. Jedo. Create a shield to contain the fire. Envelop the Digi-Egg with a shield. I will throw it in so it can absorb this energy.” Dyne smiled as he took out the Digi Egg.

“Let’s go, Kokmatorimon! Time to heat you and hatch you!” Dyne laughed as he threw the Digi Egg into the hole of the Fire gem.

The Digi-Egg began to spur and absorb the torrential heat upon touching the flames.

Dyne used Jedo’s power to seal the hole and add a shield to protect the egg from being damaged by the flames.

The Digi-Egg began to absorb the fire around it and was slowly becoming brighter. The egg began to condense and create form from its crystal-like form that imitated what Ra-Seru eggs looked like in Legend of Legaia. The fire energy was causing the being inside to take form finally.

Back outside, the Zenoir and Choco continued to attack the group.

“Enemy attack! The enemies have destroyed the Magic Generating Fire Gem!” One of the mages that fought the Zenoir ran to the back to inform the rest of the team.

The commotion of the sudden loss of power caused the mages on the top floor to be alert and rush toward Dyne’s location.

The Zenoir made the Vertical Hammer attack and blew up another group of mages.

BOOM! BOOM!

The tremendous booms at the top floors caused the mages to rush to the top.

But the Zenoir was unstoppable. It took in the fireballs and firebolts.

“It’s immune to fire! Water and Ice mages!” One of the stronger mages realized how the Zenoir managed to resist the attack.

The Ice and Water mages arrived, and the Zenoir and Choco began to retreat.

But as the Zenoir began to retreat, Vahn had seen the massive shield grow dimmer and dimmer outside the fort. So he rode his Chocobo as he began to channel the energy to summon Viguro.

The lightning energy gathered above the skies and drew the attention of the mages in the fort. The Viguro had appeared!

It gathered the terrifying lightning energy that appeared and drew the attention of the mages.

A plasma storm was launched at the center of the fortress, and terrifying lightning attacks began to explode all over the fortress.

Jaden and his team charged with Vahn, and Ishreth was amazed at the power of the Viguro.

“Amazing…” Ishreth marveled. It was an attack that surpassed her own.

“Those Serus look powerful. I can’t wait to wear mine!” Amorien smiled.

“Let’s go! Let’s not let these children do the heavy lifting!” Jaden began to gather his martial power and made a powerful charge that made him even faster than the Chocobo that Vahn was riding!

Chad did the same thing, and his body began to glow and rush at the same speed Jaden had.

Vahn and Noa were amazed at the sight.

“We still have a long way to go, Vahn.” Meta laughed.

“Yes. This is amazing! This world is amazing!” Vahn began to laugh.

“Serving Master Dyne is amazing. Let’s enjoy this world! Master Dyne’s Brimstone is starting to rub on us!” Meta laughed.

Ishreth and Amorien were running at the back.

Ishreth aimed and began to cast the spells that Dyne bestowed on her.

“Missiles of Magic!” Eight small fireballs arced around and flew toward the fort! Her control over the magic was several times stronger than Dyne, and she easily created several fireballs and could control them to fly toward their target.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The fireballs moved and evaded the barricades and walls and moved into the small opening, and surprised the mages behind the wall.

“Impressive! Master Dyne sure has given you great gifts.” Amorien was amazed.

“He loves me!” Ishreth smiled.

“I guess I have to work hard so that he will give me something amazing as well!” Amorien laughed and began to shoot arrows that flew and struck the mages behind it.

Because of the ongoing plasma storm and the sniping attacks of Amorien and Ishreth, only a small percentage of the guarding mages were able to attack Jaden. But even then, there were over twenty mages that managed to launch an attack.

“Chad!” Jaden ordered as the magic approached.

Chad stood behind Jaden, and the two combined their martial power to create a shield.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The shield withstood the attacks of the bombardment.

“It’s Jaden! It’s the Steel Knight!” The mage recognized the powerful defense and alerted the rest.

Everyone was so focused on the attacks up front that they didn’t realize that on the side where the Plasma Storm was strongest, Arya, Emera, and Noa were racing toward the side of the fort.

The two chocobos had the power of wind, and they ran as fast as they could. And as they approached, they began to run up the wall and reached the top.

Emera charged forward and transformed into a hideous wraith that clawed and slashed the enemies. Arya began to shoot with her bow to clear out the enemies nearby.

Noa completed her channeling and raised Terra.

Terrifyingly cold energy gathered at the center, and a strange turtle-like creature broke through the ice that formed on the floor.

The Gizam had emerged once more, and it channeled the cold energy and launched its Bubble Crush attack that spread all over the entrance of the fort.

The enemy's ranks at the gates were cleared out as the exploding cold and poisonous energy erupted.

With the mages at the gates being bombarded by these attacks, Jaden and Chad managed to run closer toward the gate.

“It’s still closed!” Chad frowned.

“Not for long. Our little boy genius is preparing another round of magic.” Jaden smirked.

Sure enough, Vahn had eaten a magic leaf and summoned a Zenoir that came punching on the gates.

BOOM!
