The team continued to travel toward the town.
The slime monsters that several were riding on top of had transformed into a browning shade from their bright green form.
The power of the slimes had grown to the point that it could easily charge and ram over the monsters it met.
“Master Dyne! These Slimes!” Esto called out.
“It’s an Oak Slime now. Finally, they grew stronger. This should help us fight through the enemies!” Dyne laughed.
“What about you, Choco? Gain any powers? Can you easily scale mountains, cross rivers and lakes?” Dyne asked.
“Kweh?” Choco asked in confusion.
“Never mind. I guess it’s too early for you to have those powers.” Dyne chuckled.
Agumon had also begun to devour a bit of the monster that the slimes picked up on the way.
The power of Agumon was growing, but as he devoured these fallen creatures, he could feel a strange power growing within him.
“Master… What is this strange power in me? I feel like I can change form?” Agumon asked.
“Well, my little Digimon friend, you seem to be based on Digimon World 3! Unlike the Evil God who plans to be born as Digimon World 1.” Dyne chuckled.
“I’m guessing that consuming more monsters will awaken the power that the Evil God has instilled in you. He created you by pouring out the knowledge of all the monsters he created, and with your desire, all of these could happen. But you will need the required power, element, and other qualities to actually digivolve into those beasts.” Dyne explained.
“In any case, Evil God. When do you plan to evolve?” Dyne asked.
“I’ll need a stronger shell to create my body. Jedo told me the details of the games that you played and more about your particular identity. If what he said is true, destroy a Mist Generator. I plan to use the bodies of those dead Ra-Serus to recreate myself.”
“Oh? Interesting. We’ll do that then!” Dyne chuckled.
The group continued, and with the empowered slime, the rest were able to recover from their battles. Everyone kept talking about strategies when fighting and used their recent experiences to grow.
The Diablo team was particularly focused on Spirit. Chad had begun to explain how his training in the order of Monks was related to Spirit and began to teach the principle to the rest.
Soon, the town of Jeremi was finally within sight.
Everybody watched the valley that opened to the town of Jeremi. Standing higher than the mountains around it was a tall tower.
Dyne couldn’t help but ponder.
“If Jeremi is this big, how tall is Sol?” Dyne wondered.
The Mist was still thick and managed to cross the mountain and rise all the way to the tall tower of Jeremi. And there, the Mist remained.
Dyne and his team were curious as to what enemy they would find.
“Are you sure about this, Dyne?” Strafe suddenly asked.
“Worried?” Dyne chuckled.
“A little. I gave an interesting side quest here. But I’m worried that Calamitus did something that will utterly change the enemies you face.”
“I’m expecting that. Truthfully, I know that we won’t be able to face whatever is here. But the rewards are just too insane. Besides, what is cultivation if not fighting against the impossible odds?” Dyne answered.
Soon, the team reached the entrance to the valley, and the massive city could be seen inside.
“Interesting. Jeremi is more technologically advanced than all of Drake continents. Even the structures here are bigger here." Dyne observed.
“Jeremi Kingdom. I thought I’d never get back here.”
“Jeremi Kingdom?” Dyne asked. He was surprised that the city would be a kingdom. But as Dyne observed the structure, he saw that Jeremi was indeed a fortress.
“Jeremi, Octam, and Ratayu are the three kingdoms in this place. I heard that Jeremi was erected in the citizen's attempt to imitate Sol of Karisto. But since Jeremi built their city on top of the mountain range, the stone pillars made to bear soil allowed the Sky Gardens to be built.” Tetsu added.
“Master Dyne… Something’s off.” Amorien spoke. The previous terrors they surpassed caused her to worry. For in this place, there were no terrors that awaited them.
“The valley and the uphill walk to the various plateaus could be a trap for us,” Amorien explained.
“I agree with Lady Amorien’s explanation, Lord Dyne. We might get trapped in a pincer.” Arya added.
“Indeed. I am expecting something like that. Let me tell you what we could face.” Dyne spoke.
Dyne told the enemy they would involve all the previous monsters they encountered. The Hell’s Trigger ostrich, the Ogres, the Kabuki Rats, and the Death Wings.

“Other than that are skeletons like the ones in Drake Continent. The skeleton is probably equal to a level 5 martial advent warrior but will have Spirit. So it’s their numbers that will be an issue.” Dyne explained. He recalled that since this was a town, the appearance of these skeletons would be expected.
“But in this place are also powerful knight wraiths.” Dyne then went to the first new monsters they would face in Jeremi.
“Knight Wraiths?” Jaden was intrigued by Dyne’s term.
“Yes. It’s a floating ghost that bears the upper torso of a knight. He has a sword and can create spirit attacks by harnessing the wind to make a ranged cut.”
“What an interesting creature. Can you command it, Lord Dyne?” Jaden asked.
“I normally should be able to do that. But Fate might try something to foil my attacks. I don’t think using my powers to control the undead will be helpful here.”
“How so? Your powers of Brimstone are quite terrifying.” Jedo asked.
Dyne smiled.
“Because of the great depression in this land,” Dyne revealed.
“Depression?”
“I can feel it.” Dyne sensed it.
Jedo then recalled that Jeremi would have a bar where all the people who lost their loved ones gather in the game. It was the first time that the game players would encounter such sad scenes after liberating a town from the Mist.
“In any case, there is a power here that creates such sadness. And it will nullify the powers of my Brimstone. I could overpower it, but I would waste a lot of mana to do that… So we will be fighting these undead creatures here. Aside from that is a large pufferfish known as the Spikefish.”
“A pufferfish?”
“Yes. It's poisonous, and it floats! Oh! So that’s what’s causing the sadness!” Dyne could sense it, and as he talked about the Spikefish, he realized something. There was a rich water supply below the rocky plateaus, and Dyne could sense much life in the waters. Unfortunately, the town of Jeremi had no known sources of water. But yet, the Spikefish enemy could be encountered in town and only inside the town.”
“Does Jeremi have a reservoir under it?” Dyne asked Tetsu.
“Yes. That’s their source of water.”
“Ah… So those Spikefishes might have multiplied and mutated through the Mist…”
“Are these fish really important or strong?” Serge asked curiously.
“Errm… Not really. Sorry, I’m getting ahead of myself. Although we should target these spikefishes and steal an important item that we can use to get ourselves to Ratayu.” Dyne laughed. He was so invested in trying to reconcile how game-world Jeremi could exist in Legaia and how Strafe orchestrated events so that they followed the events.
“An important item?” Chrone asked.
“A Spikefish Flute. It's a magical flute that allows us to call on a Spikefish monster and use its blowfish traits to explode and create a powerful blinding light to help us escape. That will be a useful tool for us to go through these islands and escape monster hordes.”
“That is an incredible item!”
“Yeah. Bertugo! Brod! You need to steal as much as you can.”
“Yes, Master.” The two Gomboo’s answered.
“Anyway, there are several Serus that we can fight here. We will probably see a stronger version of Nightos. So get ready for that… And then we have the Seru that Noa, Amorien, and Arya should acquire. The Swordie. A small powerful seru with powerful wind magic.” Dyne revealed.
“A Swordie? What an interesting name!”
“Yes. It’ll be even better if we can catch one and turn it to our Zenoir, Godhand, or like Grim here. Hmm? Speaking of them! It looks like they are the first to attack.” Dyne pointed at the distance.
Out of the Mist, several creatures could now be seen.
It looked like an insect-like creature with the face and ligaments of a mantis. It had an impish body that seemed to be barely capable of carrying the two large blades it had as its arms.
A number of them stood and formed ranks.
“Oh, great. These serus know how to assume a formation!” Dyne complained.
“Master Dyne…” Jaden called out.
"They appeared out of the Mist!" Amorien called out.
From the back, Dyne saw several large round blowfishes floating in the air. Along with them were floating torsos of men wearing blue armor.
"Not really. We are on a slope. These guys were from the higher parts of Jeremi. This place has a lot of plateaus. So they floated down. Prepare to fight off an attack from all sides. We're surrounded. Things are about to get wild. Everyone! Assume the formation we talked about!” Dyne ordered.
