"80-20."

I widened my eyes.

Not only was I shocked that this jerk was so brave as to talk about illegal deals in prison, but I was also shocked by his unfair offer. "What? So-sorry, sir. I understand what you're trying to do, but don't you think it might make one of us feel unfair"

Shane made a grunt. "It's distribution uses one hundred per cent of my resources."

I nodded. "Sure. But I'm taking care of 100% of the production. Since our work is the same, how about we divide it more fairly? 50-50?"

Shane laughed again and then pounded hard on the table.

When I looked at him again, I realized those eyes were ready to kill.

"I have to remind you that it's because of my kindness that you're still sitting here."

I coughed.

Even though I had been in many situations where life or death was at stake, this still drive me crazy.

"70-30. This is as much as I will ever give," Shane said in more dangerous tone.

But I didn't let that stop me. Not at this point. "This is great, isn't it?" I said this in a quiet voice at the time.

"What?"

"The things I gave are so good that when they hit the market, they will blow up. Because of this, you insist on making as much money as you can." At that moment, my whole body was shaking and my heart was beating fast. Even though I shouldn't do this, I had to. If I don't do it, who else will? I don't want to keep hoping for something that might not happen. "Sir, you and I both know that killing me now will help no one."

There was a long, thrilling pause.

In retrospect, it seemed like a bunch of nonsense and desperation. But I never say something without a reason.

Shane made another smiley face. Wide. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

That didn't seem like a good thing to me. He laughed like a maniac!

"This damn little jackass." When his laughter was over, his mouth bent down again. However, Shane's tone was both chilling and witty. "When we first met, I thought you were a gutless piece of trash, but I didn't think you'd go this far."

I gulped again. Is this a good sign?

"60-40. with an advanced payment of 50%. Take it or leave it."

It wasn't quite what I had in mind. But, an advance payment? "When will I get the advance payment?"

*#*

Things have changed in the week since then.

Carl never came back to Jason's group. I guess they wouldn't want to be friends with someone who was hummiliated by the class's biggest loser.

Shane Wilder was let out of prison not long after we finished our deal. He said that his sentence had been changed, but he didn't know why. Now, he only has to do community service.

That's not a big surprise for someone with that much power and reputation.

Anyway, what was most important was that our business was going well.

I've also been looking into some things and doing research on the System.

Especially the [STORE] menu.

[Gold] and something called [Charisma] were listed as ways to buy the item in there.

I always got them along with other mission rewards, but I never knew what they were for.

I thought it meant literally and was part of the [Status Attributes] I didn't know about.

But it turned out to be something else that could be traded in the shop. There were still 700 Gold and 140 Charisma.

Should I buy something new now? Something that might help in other ways?

As usual, Mr. Henderson walked into the classroom with angry steps and a frown.

A blonde girl was right behind him.

Mr. Henderson didn't want to waste his energy, so he started banging on the blackboard right away to get everyone's attention.

People went back to their seats and the class went back to being quiet.

Mr. Henderson nodded in approval and told the blonde girl. "Go ahead, Ms. Hudson".

She took a step forward. Even the way she talked about herself seemed ha. "Hello, it's nice to meet you or something. The name is Evangeline Hudson. I don't have any hobbies or skills that I'm especially proud of. So... um... what should I say at this point, huh. Well, I hope we'll get along."

When Hudson looked at me, my heart skipped a beat.

Being a sensible person, I knew it wasn't love. My gut told me something was wrong. And the Mission that popped up was the proof.

[STAY LOW-PROFILE]

The new student will ask about the System, but it's best not to tell her.
