"Were they scared of me? How weird."

Quinn thought they acted strange, but could not understand the reason behind it.

"Ah, whatever."

There was no point in thinking about that, anyway.

It was still early in the morning, so Quinn guessed no new clients would come, at least not in a few hours.

For that reason, he went to his couch, sat, and turned on the TV.

The news mostly covered recent murders, arrests, and talked about the upcoming days of rain.

"I probably won't get that many costumers when it rains…"

Quinn kept chilling, watching his TV.

~~~~
In an alley, a red-haired woman fought against a group of people.
She wielded a spear with thunders coming out of it, and they were lightning around her body as well.
The woman dashed so fast that the eyes of her opponents couldn't keep up. A spear pierced through the first enemy, then the second, and so on.
Within a few seconds, lots of bodies lied in the alley.
"Is he still chasing me?" She thought.
She needed a placed to hide for the time being, and when she glanced at the nearby street, there was one store that was already open.
"Wasn't that the store Sebastian talked about?"
Ding, ding. The bell of Quinn's store rang, and another customer went inside.
It surprised Quinn, who was chilling watching his TV.
"A new costumer? That soon? This way I'll work till I'm dead."
Quinn got up from his couch and welcomed the client.
"Welcome, welcome."
The moment he saw how pretty the girl was, he was surprised. One thing he regretted was not enjoying his life, but this time, he would not make the same mistake.
"You're the owner?" she asked, scanning the place.
It was just a humble store, which made the girl wonder why did Sebastian say it was a home of a powerful being.
She glanced at Quinn and tried to guess his level of power. There was no mana.
"Is he even a mage?"
"Yes, I'm the owner. Would you like some tea? Or coffee?" Quinn said.
He wanted to make a good impression.
"Tea, please. Can I sit here?" She said, while pointing to the chair near the table where Quinn worked.
"Of course. Wait here while I get the tea."
Quinn went upstairs and made a tea as fast as he could, then he returned to sit with the lady.
"Sebastian was the one that told me about this place. He seems to really like you."
"Really? He told me something about advertising my store, but I did not think the results would come so quickly." Quinn said.
Quinn put on two cups and filled them with hot tea. It smelled nice, and the mysterious woman had a smile on her face.
She gave it a sip, and said, "this tea is amazing."
"Thanks. I'm Quinn, you?"
"Paige, nice to meet you."
They chatted about mundane stuff, which made Paige wonder if Quinn was indeed a mage.
After the tea was finished, Quinn asked if she wanted his services.
"Card reading? What is that?" Paige said, curious about it.
"I can answer one doubt you have, and the cards will show you the best way to deal with it." Quinn said.
There was someone chasing Paige, so the card reading stuff instantly got her attention. If Quinn could truly find a way for her to surpass that obstacle, then she wouldn't doubt he was truly a powerful mage.
"How much is it?"
"For a pretty girl like you, 300 White Dinars." Quinn said.
The technique he used was to compliment the costumer, and make her think that the price was special only for her, when he always raised the price after each client.
"All right. I want the card reading stuff."
Paige thought it was cheap, as mages earned a lot of money by offering their services to other people. 300 White Dinars was nothing to her.
Quinn took the cups and put them back in his kitchen. He returned with a deck of cards in hand.
"What do you want to know?" Quinn said.
"A problem keeps following me. How can I escape from it?"
"A toxic ex boyfriend? Another relationship problem, it seems." Quinn thought as he took out his deck of cards.
It was the same movement as always. Quinn placed all the cards facing down, and moved his hands above it, sensing the energy.
The first card had the drawing of a lady running away with an unknown object in hands.
"Perhaps the problem keeps following you because of something you stole. Something that may be physical, or not."
Quinn was referring to the internal damage breakups caused, but Paige thought of something else.
Paige now understood why Sebastian had told her Quinn was someone mysterious and powerful.
She was being chased after stealing a treasure from a ruin, and it turned out something guarded that said treasure.
The strangest part was that this treasure was both physical, yet ethereal at the same time. Which meant Quinn knew all of it within seconds.
Quinn did not stop there and grabbed another card. The card had the drawing of a skeleton creature.
"The only way to overcome the problem is to kill it, bury it deep. Yet sometimes you may feel the problem is unlikable, as if it was already dead.
Paige was shaking, as she was indeed running from an old and powerful Lich, who was not happy that she stole his treasure.
Quinn took out another card, which was the answer to all of her problems.
It had the drawing of a humble store, with a youth in it.
"Sometimes, if the problem is too hard for you to face alone, you can always look for external help. That is not a sign of weakness, but an understanding of one's capability."
Quinn was trying to make her look for help, such as the police, or even a phycologist.
Paige sighed in relief.
"It turned out all I have to do is come here when the Lich is close, and Mr. Quinn will deal with it." Paige thought.
"Thank you, Quinn. Here."
Paige gave him over 300 White Dinars. She gave 1000, already paying for the protection beforehand.
"I'll come back." Paige said, as she left the store.
Quinn was thinking only crazy people went to his store.
"Ah, it doesn't matter as long as they give me money."
