Quinn was in a deep sleep upstairs. A mysterious person wearing a hood break in inside his store.
That person was not an ordinary robber, but a 4th circle mage. It was a simple task for him to get inside such a place that had no defensive measures.
“This young man will find pain.”
The man looked toward the stairs, and he sensed someone was up there, sleeping. It would be like a piece of cake for him to grab that person and torture it for answers, but as he was preparing to go up the staircase, he was there.
A young man with pure black eyes gazed at the robber and smirked.
“Are you really trespassing inside my store?”
It was a no brainer that a fight would occur, so the man moved his hands, drawing the symbols of a spell. He was trying to use an Acid Shot, a spell that he was familiar with, yet did nothing.
Quinn waved his hands, and the surrounding shadows moved towards the symbols, destroying them in an instant. These shadows did not stop there, but formed hands that grabbed the masked man, immobilizing it.
“Don’t be sad. You’ll be the first one I absorb.”
A black mouth formed where Quinn’s torso was. It opened up wide enough to eat a living person and devoured the man.
The news of that mage disappearing after entering Quinn’s store spread throughout the magic world. For them it was something incredible, as no one near the area sensed the mana fluctuations, and the man disappeared without a trace.
Now, for Quinn, it was all but a mere dream.
“I should install some locks in my store, or else that dream may come true one day.”
Early in the morning the men Sebastian sent arrived, and they had total respect towards Quinn, which made him wonder what did Sebastian told them for that to happen.
He was a meager small store owner. Now that he thought of, Sebastian was acting strange when talking with him.
“Does he see me as his son? Or even grandson?”
These were just thoughts, as Quinn explained to them what he wanted to do, and they started the renovations quickly after.
Quinn needed to buy a new TV to put inside his bedroom, so he left and let the people there work in peace.
The moment he walked out, he stumbled with the red-haired woman he met before in his store.
It was just a quick bump, but that made Paige’s heart race, afraid she had angered the supreme being.
“Paige? Are you here for a session again?” Quinn said.
“No, I- I was just passing by and thought of saying hi.”
“So sweet. Hey Paige, would you like to come with me to buy a new TV?”
Paige did not mutter a word, and thought about those words deeply.
“What does he mean?”
For her, he had an interior motive, and of course she wouldn’t refuse.
“That would be lovely.”

They went to a nearby electronic store looking for a new TV. The salesmen showed them all the new TVs, and Quinn saw a few that fit perfectly on his bedroom’s wall.
A few rumors had spread through the magical world, and the new hot topic was Quinn. An anonymous font posted on the web that the supreme being loved to store money, so the font guessed he hated to spend it.
Paige wasn’t dumb and used her card to pay for the new TV Quinn had just bought.
“No, no. This is too expensive”

“This is when he tries to refuse it, and I have to make everything in my power for him to accept, or else I’m dead.”
“Mr. Quinn, take this as a gift for your help back then in the session.”
“But you paid me.”
“Then take this as a gift of a friend. How does it sound?”
“Well, if you insist…”
“I’m alive, I’m alive.”
The salesmen watched all of that without understanding a single thing, but he was still happy to sell something.
Paige noticed they came by foot to the store, and a supreme being like Quinn could not return walking with a TV on hands, so before she could finish the payment, Paige had already called her personal driver.
A black sedan car waited for them outside the store, and Paige explained to Quinn who it was.
“You have a personal driver? My clients are all rich. Sebastian owns a company. Are you like him?” Quinn said.
They were both inside the car, and Paige froze the moment she heard what Quinn said.
“Sebastian is my boss. Is he saying that in his eyes, me or Sebastian are all equal, equally weak?”
“I, in fact, work for Sebastian.” Paige said.
“Really? If you see him, tell him I’m excited about the dinner with the ‘strongest’. Ha, strongest, what a funny guy.”
“I-I’ll pass the message.”
“Did he just make fun of all the mages there? Mr. Quinn is scary…”
Paige’s personal driver stopped right in front of Quinn’s store. He said goodbyes to Paige and went inside.
The men Sebastian brought to do the job were indeed fast, as Quinn spent only 2 hours away from home, yet it was already over.
Quinn now had a separated room for his card and palm reading. He went upstairs and installed the TV on the wall, lied down, and relaxed.
A quiet morning without clients. He needed the money, but it was also nice to have a time to chill.
“Maybe I should put the ‘closed’ sign on and take a nap? That would be good.”
That idea came, but quickly vanished as the store’s bell rang, and someone walked in. Quinn used his hands to fix his hair and went downstairs to speak with the client.
It was an old man with a face filled with wrinkles. Quinn was sure the man was at least 70 years old.
“Hello, welcome. How can I help you?”
“Are you Mr. Quinn?”
“Yes, that is me. How do you know my name?”
“Sebastian told me about you. I’m here to make you an offer.”
“An offer?”
“Yes.”
The old man took out his hat and said, “Mr. Quinn, would you like to teach occultism in my school?”
