The old man, Lewis Spinster, leveled a gaze at everyone sitting on the ground, relaxing. It was blasphemous and hilarious at the same time.
And for the first time in his life, he had seen the crown prince with something other than coldness on his face. What an interesting development. How would his sister react once she would see him like this?
Then his gaze rested on the girl who was sitting beside his nephew. The kid who was not fond of other human beings, was sitting with a female over there. He had had a glimpse of them talking from the back earlier when he interrupted the whole gathering.
And look at that, his nephew was even standing in front of that little girl in a protective stance. Nothing could go past Lewis's eagle sharp eyes. He looked at his nephew questioningly but no one was talking.
On the top of that, this fool of a duke was yelling at this daughter in front of the crowd, humiliating her. Did he even know how to raise kids?
Kim Su Won was not listening to anything duke Harold was saying. It did not matter. He must have thought it would make sense disciplining her first rather than anyone blaming him later for not teaching his kids properly.
Unfortunately, for the duke, he did not understand that yelling at his own children in front of others was not good for his own image. Her parents back in her original life were the same. They were always ready to scold her even if the fault was not hers. For them, she was the only one wrong.
However, her gaze was on the old man here. He was another important character in the story, one who would make the third prince the new crown prince later in the novel. Why would the queen's own brother help a concubine's son to become the crown prince?
Well, if the plot flows the same as the novel, he would become too disappointed in the disciple he taught his whole life. His plans and ambitions for Prince Aaron would be shattered by one and only his own sister. Thus, he would decide in the future to go against his sister, the queen and do what she would hate the most.
Kim Su Won was going to make sure that the crown prince Aaron would make out of the drama safe and sound before she was going to leave this world.
This old man belonging to the only clan with stark purple hair and eyes, the clan shunned by others but embraced by the royal family in the previous generation, the Morades clan. The people of this clan, in ancient times, were rumored to have magical powers in the novel. This point was never expanded in the story but she could now see why people were so afraid of the clans people.
"Uncle, what are you doing here?" Prince Aaron questioned his uncle as he stepped towards him, completely disregarding the duke and his temper.
"That's what I would like to ask you, your highness! You came to accompany lady Richmond but I don't even see her anywhere near you," Lewis Spinster pointed his chin towards Emmeline while asking the prince about the lady he was originally here with.
"Ah! I would like to make introductions. This is Lady Emmeline Whittemore, the youngest daughter of the Whittemore household. You already know young lord Ivan Whittemore and Alexander Laurent," the prince interestingly introduced the whole group, as if he was talking about his friends, much to surprise of Lewis.
"It is a great pleasure to meet you, Lord Spinster," Kim Su Won curtsied. She impressed Lewis with her knowledge. There were not a lot of people who knew of him, even with his blatant display of Morades clan's attributes. Furthermore, this girl was not looking at him with fear or disgust. And one had to admit, she was a cute kid.
"Nice to make your acquaintance as well, lady Whittemore. I have heard a lot about you," Lewis smiled softly.
Kim Su Won tilted her head again in confusion. Why did royal family people know about her so much? It was okay for the queen to know about her because she was a crown princess candidate since birth. But it did not make sense that the crown prince and even his uncle knew 'a lot' about her.
She was going to ask this question again from the crown prince. She was just happy to get another important person not against her, at least for now.
"Your highness, I think it is time to go home. You have been out long enough. Your mother is worried," Lewis asserted going back to his stern teacher-like aura.
Seeing that no one was saying anything to Emmeline, duke Harold calmed down as well. Katherine and Cecilia were snickering at the side.
Prince Aaron looked at his uncle, and then looked at the table. They were quite deep into the game. Leaving it now would be such a waste. Although he could not show how sad he was, his face fell. Then he looked at Emmeline.
Kim Su Won smiled. She knew he had gotten hooked on these games. "Your royal highness, I will gift these to you. I have more sets prepared for myself. So, whenever you need companions to play, why don't you call us to the palace? Of course, you are welcome here too, any time you desire," she said.
Immediately, prince Aaron's face lit up. Kim Su Won chuckled, this prince could really not hide his own feelings. Anna brought a fresh set of all the games they had played today and handed them to Kim Su Won.
"Prince, here you go. Oh, by the way, if I want to make them popular, would you help me out? I would like to establish a business out of these games," she whispered in his ears as she put them in his arms.
Prince Aaron blinked at her for some time. Her crystal clear aqua eyes were filled with some kind of ambition. If she wanted to make a business out of the games, she could ask her own family. Why ask him? Did she need money? Business acumen? What was she looking for? Well, as long as it was giving him a chance to meet her again.
He nodded, with a blush.. "I will send you an invite for palace visit soon," he said as he departed.
