Chapter 35: Chapter 34 – Sorting out Information from Eterna

Robin: “Wait! I have two more questions!”

When they were about to return Robin stopped and held up her hand and Eterna waited. Robin looked Eterna in the eyes.

Robin: “Since the fated women are given a choice to transfer as soon as we reach the maximum capacity, why is it they have to leave right away and what happens if we don’t reach it before we die?”

Eterna: “Those are two questions.”

Robin: “Then I had three left, one after this one too.”

Eterna: “I will only open a channel to each universe you reincarnate into just once. Transmigration can only go from lower worlds to higher worlds. The 7^th world is the highest world so moving them there is easy. Being fated, their body has special compatibility with you both as well as the 7^th world. Since I can only visit once, I may only speak to them once and they must make their decision at that time and transfer instantly or I will not be able to open the channel and move them. Reincarnation is different from transmigration since their actual physical body is moving.”

Robin: “Fine… okay… then the last question is that I was given the understanding that I won’t be able to have children and you can’t tell me what it means for Nuri being pregnant? Can you tell me if this will happen again? At least let me know so I know what to expect.”

Eterna glanced at Robin.

Eterna: “It will only happen once, and for Kevin too. There will be one woman he will be forced to impregnate though it will not result in a new child. It is something you will both understand in the 7^th world.”

Kevin: “Wait? Me too? You mean one of my intended blanks won’t be a blank?”

Eterna: “You can still have intentional children, but one of your blanks will impregnate one of the fated.”

Kevin: “I see… then if we meet the quota and have a child… but then you know the future.. Will our children have a chance to transmigrate?”

Eterna: “Only fated can choose to go. If you have a child then it will be left behind. Unless the pregnancy was special like what Nuri did, a pregnancy will result in the fetus left behind while the mother moves on if she chooses. If you want to get that special pregnancy you will have to intend not to impregnate and it will happen on its own. If you fail to use a blank when nearing the full quota on the right fated woman, it will only make thing more difficult for you in the final world.”

Kevin: “But that pregnancy won’t result in my child?”

Eterna: “No, and that is all I can say. Are you both satisfied?”

Kevin: “Are there going to be any surprise new rules we haven’t heard about beyond this?”

Eterna: “No. Nothing else will be new in your case. These are final. As I said before, information was withheld so you can experience this first hand. Otherwise you may have worried.”

Kevin: “What happens if we don’t fill the quota in a world before we both die?”

Eterna: “Then you will die without reincarnating and it will be the end.”

The two said nothing more and both Robin and Kevin sighed realizing there was more to it than before. Neither could now think of anymore questions, and that Robin and Kevin returned from the time freeze where Robin was alone in the room.  She still wore the suit on looking over where Nuri should have been on top of her. Where Cecelia was under the blankets was now just a blanket on its own. The entire room felt lonely now that they were gone and Robin put on a blanket and huddled on the mattress near the fire place. She noticed that Kevin was getting closer by car and missed him more than she did before Nuri and Cecelia left.

While it was true that they never once asked about the rules and it was only stated that Robin couldn’t have children, it was still normal to assume that children and pregnancy go hand in hand.

Kevin: “Robin, are you alright?”

Robin: “I’m… I’m not… I’m not alright…”

Kevin: “It’s the pregnancy of Nuri isn’t it?”

Robin: “Yes. I still don’t understand it at all.”

Kevin: “Let it go. We’ll deal with it when it happens. There is no point worrying about the seventh world when we’re only on the first. There is still along way to go and everything will be revealed in time. I learned a lot in this world… and while there were surprises we’re a team… I just hope that I get to have more sex than you next world otherwise it really wouldn’t be fair.”

Robin: “You know I use a suit right? It’s not even a real dick!”

Kevin: “You can still feel it so it counts. Don’t try to play victim when you were pounding Nuri every night. I’m going to be more aggressive next life. Also, since I’ll be delayed for one year I’m going to hang back and have sex while you go out to work.”

Robin: “I guess that’s fair. You got a pretty raw deal this time around. So the thirty days… the information on the aliens… you really want to go after them?”

Kevin: “On day thirty. We can plan everything and hit them at the end of the month. We can enjoy our time until then.”

Robin: “Why about the other survivors who are struggling? Isn’t that what you would normally say?”

Kevin: “If they don’t have a month’s supply of food where they are at then they probably wouldn’t survive when the zombies are gone either. They’re people who only know how to get food at the grocery store, do you think they’ll be able to farm and survive?”

Robin: “I see… drive safely and come back. I’m not going to meet the other survivors. Let’s leave as soon as you get back. Let’s have some fun… let’s have some fun…”

Kevin: “I’ll be there soon. I’ll show them the place and what they need to survive then we can leave. I’ll start explaining it to them on the way.”

Robin: “Yes… please… I’ll get a vehicle. Bicycles and we’ll leave. Let’s go to New York. We’ll go to my house and stay there for a few days then we’ll use my dad’s long distance jet to go to the South Pole… we’ll play it by ear…”

Robin’s emotions was clearly read through the telepathy. She wasn’t happy with the sudden change of events and it was a time where she felt vulnerable.

Kevin: “I’m coming so wait for me...”

I was speeding down the road with Valeria next to me who was awake and watching the roads we drove down. I didn’t talk to her much while I was telepathically communicating with Robin. There was so much to unpack about our second meeting with Eterna. To summarize all the information and the new rules:

1. It turns out we will only have a maximum of thirty days in the current world once we fulfill the quota of getting to the maximum amount of spirit energy.  This meant all of our thoughts of living to old age and watching children grow up in each world were for naught. We really have to think carefully about having children at least until the 7^th world since we might not stay until his or her adulthood unless we remain celibate.

2. Even if I don’t send out my swimmers there will be one pregnancy. It might not be a child but there will be one that can only be kept if the fated woman decides to transmigrate. I have no idea what it is but… there will be one like that. At least we won’t have to worry about it happening again to Robin.

This basically means that we have to be very careful about children. It’s really not I imagined it would be… but there is a task. We still have to interact with the fated women and move forward. That part won’t change.

3. We will die if we don’t reach the quota in any of the next worlds. Good thing we reached it in this world before we knew. 

4. Oh… and Robin’s suit apparently got an upgrade and I will be able to carry over all my perception abilities. Still seems a bit unfair but the compatibility issue seems to be part of the nature of the reincarnation and multiverse that I can’t do much about.

Valeria: “You seem deep in thought, something on your mind?”

Kevin: “When we get there I’ll show you all the facilities and them I’ll probably be leaving.”

Valeria: “To find more survivors?”

Kevin: “No. I think we can end the zombies. We can’t bring people back but we can end the zombies.”

Valeria: “You said ‘we.’  Who is ‘we’?”

Kevin: “Me and someone none of you are going to meet because she doesn’t want to be met. We’ll be leaving shortly and you can take the campus. Just make sure to keep the barricades up. If one day the zombie stragglers start having their heads suddenly explode then you’ll know we’re successful.”

Valeria: “Heads explode?”

Kevin: “We have an hour if you want to hear the story but you probably won’t believe it.”

Valeria: “I have nothing better to do.”

The two males were sleeping in the back as I relayed the events and things to Valeria about the aliens at the south pole as well as some details of how I reincarnated She was quiet throughout the ride and didn’t say much about it until I finished talking about Eterna. I didn’t mention Robin’s name, who she was or how I got power through sex… or Robin having sex with that artificial futa suit.

At the end Valeria had some difficulty believing everything that I said. I could tell by her heartbeat and the way she stared. It’s amazing how sharp my perception had become.

Valeria: “Everything you just told me you claim is true?”

Kevin: “Every word.”

Valeria: “I have no way of verifying so I’ll say that I believe you. If the zombie heads start exploding like what you claim then I’ll really believe you. Lots of strange things happened so quickly so I don’t want to be disbelieving so quickly. I hope you and your partner are able to survive.”

I didn’t tell her about the thirty days. The car soon arrived and I awakened the two in the back as everyone else. I showed them around the campus and where everything is. They looked at the barricades as well as the materials that were available. The emergency supply closet was still full of food. When it came time I said my goodbye because I could sense Robin was resting and waiting in a vehicle about a mile away from campus. Valeria was the one who said goodbye to me.

Valeria: “Take care of her.”

Kevin: “Of who?”

Valeria: “The girl.”

Kevin: “How do you know my partner is a girl?”

Valeria: “Woman’s intuition, plus I’ve been in the military. I’ll take care of things here if you ever want to return, if the heads explode I’ll assume you’re successful.”

Kevin: “Yeah…”

Valeria nodded and walked away. That was her quick goodbye. I went to gather a few emergency supplies and watched the survivors going around campus and checking the resources they had. The only one who had survival training was Valeria and it seemed the others were willing to listen to her direction so I didn’t think their situation was too difficult.

Before I started walking away Valeria had turned around.

Valeria: “For what it’s worth I was actually a slut in the military and you were still the best I’ve had. I hoped you would have stayed but guy like you must really be in love with someone. I won’t ask why you wanted to shag me but I don’t think the circumstances are what your girl would hate. Take care of yourself Kevin.”

I was a little stunned because I could tell she was telling me the truth. Valeria winked and walked back towards the campus where the others were following her lead.

Kevin: “You too.”

I headed over to the vehicle where Robin was waiting.
