Chapter 5: Chapter 5 – Telepathic Conversation

I, Kevin Chang… yes my last name changed but in this life my first name was the same as my last life… was born to a family in Chinatown Los Angeles and ran a small run down restaurant. Unlike Robin who was born to rich parents in New York, I was born here to toil away serving tables to the aunties and uncles who frequented our business.

Robin: ‘Oh come on, it’s not that bad. Look, you still got good grades and I even got my father to make a scholarship in the university to take you in so you can go to an Ivy League school with me.’

Robin continued to talk to me via telepathy everyday. She made a lot of friends and I did not. I just focused on work, school and getting ahead in life. The financials of this life with my parents here were worse than my last life. My father was tougher on me but began to relax when I gave him my mature side who did everything.

I had no other siblings. I was an only child just like in my last life. When I got accepted into an Ivy League with a full scholarship, both my parents in this life were incredibly proud. The story isn’t about them. I was filial to them and helped build up their small restaurant into a successful one with many workers. I still worked the tables to make sure everything was in order.

Robin: “Are you ignoring me now? I’m going to sleep soon so come on, give me a few minutes.”

I was busy cleaning tables for the people at night. I had to concentrate so I didn’t make a mistake as I served the tables. Calling each person I knew by Auntie and Uncle and their names was a sign of respect in Asian Culture.

Kevin: ‘I’m sorry Robin, I’m buys serving tables right now.”

Robin: ‘Oh come on, you’ve already made them into a 3 star restaurant for whatever that company was that was founded in 1904 to guide restauranteurs. Even my parents in this life want to go to your restaurant one day but just never had the time off work to leave manhattan.’

Kevin: ‘Probably better this way since I’m not even sure if we’ll get married in this life.’

Robin: ‘Oh Kevin, come on… we both know what has to come next. You want me to take your virginity in this life as well? Okay, when we get to college we’ll do it with each other first then we’ll start to gather energy. We both haven’t gained any power since we breast fed… I even pretended to want to keep breast feeding from my mom until I was five but she put a stop to it no matter how much I whined.’

Kevin: ‘That’s a you problem, not a me problem.’

Robin… Robin… Robin…

Robin: ‘Well, you’ll be turning eighteen soon. You can thank me when that happens and you feel the power boost. I haven’t had access to the suit yet because of the age limit… I don’t know what it is with inter-dimensional spirits and having sex under the age of eighteen.’

To be honest, I had no idea either. I serve a few more tables, collect the tips and I continue to clean up as my dad comes out to help me close down the restaurant for the night. The last guests leave and it was another day of good profit. Who would have known watching all those Top Chef reality TV shows would help me run a restaurant in this life.

Father: “Son, thank you for your work. You make me and your mother so proud. I only had one child but god blessed me with a great son.”

I smile at him. Robin can’t see what I’m doing even though she can communicate with me. There is still a certain sense of privacy when doing things.

Kevin: “Will you and mom be able to handle this when I leave for college?”

Father: “Yes, we should be able too, and if we can’t we’ll sell it since you said you didn’t want to run this when you graduate. You going to a good school in Carvard University. Make good connections and then get a good job. Your mother and I can then retire in peace… oh and give us some grand children.”

Kevin: “Sure dad.”

I can’t have children with Robin in this life so it’s kind of a dilemma but she keeps telling me I can have a baby with someone else. She’ll have me again in the next life. Robin seems more excited about plowing women than me though… if I didn’t know her since she was born I might have considered that a red flag.

I give him a smile and retire to the house where I shower and get into bed. It’s not too late yet.

Kevin: “I’m done with everything, you still awake?”

Robin: “Took you long enough. Anyway, I can’t wait till we meet. I’ve got lots of girl friends so you’ll get plenty of time with them.”

Kevin: “Um, can we do it with each other first? I miss you.”

Robin: “Awww… you just want to make me think about how cute you are don’t you? Sure, sure… we’ll find the time right after the ceremony. I’ll book a hotel nearby and we’ll get it done, then you have to focus on the girls in my group. Some of them might be bisexual so we can do a threesome with them. Robin: “You haven’t gotten the power boost yet so you don’t know what it’s like. There is a large increase in perception and I’m stronger than I should be. My body feels really light when I go around and if I played sports I’d get bored because of how easy it is. Just think about it. When we get to Carvard, just go join some sports teams. You’ll turn eighteen in August before the school year starts anyway.”

Robin still thinks about me and gets excited over things like this. I should just be happy as this moves forward. There isn’t any need to be jealous of her doing it with girls if she’s that loyal to me. No… I have to just get used to it.

Kevin: “Alright, I’ll join a Fall Sport if I feel different and we’ll just go from there.”

Robin: “Great. Stick with me too. My father has a lot of pull at Carvard as a Legacy Graduate. I promise it will be smooth and easy. You chose to do the same major again so none of it should be hard.”

Kevin: “I see… well Robin… I need to tell you something.”

Robin: “Yes Kevin?”

Kevin: “I really miss you and I can’t wait to see you again. I love you.”

There was a bit of silence as I adjusted my sheets. I’m sure Robin was fumbling over herself in bed as those words always made her a bit embarrassed. I really loved her, honestly… I wish we could have just had our quiet life and if she wanted to do it with girls in our previous life… well honestly I don’t think I’d have a problem with it when I consider the fact we could suffer a life altering accident at any time.

Robin eventually broke her silence.

Robin: “Way to make me blush in bed… Good night!”

Kevin: “Good night Robin.”

I turned over in bed and went to sleep.

Robin’s face was red after hearing those words. She managed to say good night but in her bedroom with many stuffed animals where she slept alone she curled up even more into her blanket. She talked to him everyday but how long had it been since she saw him? How long since she had physically touched him?

While she could have emailed him and could have called him with her phone, she never did so because she didn’t want her father or mother to suspect anything. Instead they were supposed to meet in college and fall in love there. All the other sexual activity would be done quietly and discretely. The plan was perfect… but… despite her excitement with the prospect of other girls there was something warm and reliable about Kevin that Robin could never let go of.
