Dark, flickering shadows cascade into the corners of a long, desolate hallway

From a pulsating dim light at the end, the silhouette of a man trembles; a sharp glare flashes from a shard of glass in his hand.

“How long has it been? How many times—”

Sounds of feet on metal vibrate the air, steady and rhythmic, like that of a metronome.

The man backs up into the light, steadying the blade at the figure with both his hands. An exhausted face, half covered by unkempt hair reveals itself.

A figure slowly emerges from the shadow, stopping ere it came into the light.

The footsteps cease.

“I understand how you feel… I really do, but—” The man spoke in a shaky voice, slowly, however, it began to turn tranquil.

“Did you really think it would be without end?” He flashed a wry smile at the motionless shadow.

“I know you’ve heard this countless times, I’ll say it again.” The temperament of the man was now one of composure.

“It’s not authentic.” The target of the man’s blade shifted; he aimed it at his own neck.

“I won’t be the last.”

The smell of blood quickly filled the space following the sound of a heavy thud. A dark red puddle forms in front of the figure.

The dark form recedes, the light fades as the footsteps accumulate.

Shadows cover the corpse, quickly consuming it.
