Prologue [6] - "Cleaning" in the Clearing

The atmosphere was silent for a second, every one had flabbergasted looks on their faces as they looked at the grisly state of their superiors.

Their chest was heaving up and down signifying them breathing but everyone knew that their time is near, nothing could save them now. No miracle would ever happen...

And as the leaders were crushed, the army crumbled into pieces. With no one to blister their mindset and make them believe that they will win, the marines scattered like marbles.

"Aaagggghhhh!!!!!"

"Run! Run for your life!"

"Ah, save me, someone, please!"

"We are done. We will just die. Why did this have to happen now!!!?!??!!"

Many frustrations and anger spread onto the field affecting other people who remained calm when the two lieutenant commanders died, as well.

It was chaos.

Many at the backlines started running, running to save their life. Running with tears streaming down their face as they dropped their weapons on their floor.

However, many would think that these were the weak-hearted ones as they were running instead of fighting but instead, there were weak-willed ones than them as well.

Some marines just stood in their place as people around them tried to charge out of there as soon as they can. They were absolutely still with shock cementing their face. Their vision turning glassy as they look at the scene around them flabbergasted.

These were the ones whose survival instincts were overshadowed by their fear due to Kaiser. Weak, they were the ones who made up the absolute weak of this world.

Utterly useless...

Kaiser stabbed the sword in his right hand in the stone ground. He brought up his hand to wipe the blood that stained his face. The blood of the people he mercilessly killed was dripping from his chin. The blood on his eyelashes and near his eyes obstructed his vision and made everything seem redder than it really was.

It was smudged on his lips as well, he could almost taste it. Just by opening his mouth a bit, the blood will roll in his mouth, making him remember the taste he had been tasting for the past few years.

Nauseating... Truly Nauseating...

The smell of blood overpowered all the other smells, threatening to imprint it in his mind until he dies.

Removing all unnecessary thoughts from his mind, he picked up the grimy sword back and jumped toward the marines in front of him.

He didn't mind the people who were frozen like a statue but focused on the ones who were trying to run. Due to his past experiences, Kaiser learned that people don't overcome their fear easily. There needs to be some kind of motivation for them to overcome the feeling of dread they are facing.

So, most of the scared people weren't a threat at all, Kaiser could easily kill them off leisurely after the other lively ones died.

Slash!

"Agh!"

Smash!

"Ple-"

Cut!

"Fuc-"

Wham!

"Sav-"

Boom!

"Hel-"

Like an emotionless doll, Kaiser fought. Cutting their body parts, stabbing them through their heart, smashing their head against the ground with brute force, and giving them fatal injuries with deadly kicks.

Most died instantly, just a quick second of extreme pain and then nothing... Done.

They are done.

They are dead now.

They do not exist.

It was a quick process. Just a fast, deadly move to an important part of the body, some blood staining the attacker or the surroundings and another dead body joined the piles.

Tens...

Twenties...

Fifties...

Hundreds...

Kaiser had started to increase the intensity of his attacks, increasing his pace, it was done so easily, it looked like since the start Kaiser wasn't fighting at his full power. He was increasing his powers steadily, for some unknown reason.

In a single second, possibly half a dozen died constantly. Sometimes more than a dozen when some of them were gathered in a group.

It was horrifying, the dead bodies were dropping on the floor with some extremely wounded bodies twitching in their painful state while they had pale faces.

However, soon the clearing was devoid of any other fleeing marines, they had entered the three huge towers. Some were hiding in it and hoping they would survive, some fleeing to the other side of the island where the docks were present.

It was an attempt to escape from this island to some other place, they just wanted to put some distance from that demon.

Kaiser stopped in front of the middle towers where most had gone into and glanced it up to down several times.

He threw the swords he held on the ground, their blade had turned a lot blunter. It had several cracks appearing on it and could break easily at any time.

Kaiser dashed back to the tunnel in a second instantly by kicking the ground several times in the blink of an eye, it seemed to have been a technique.

He grabbed the metal gate with his bare hands and pulled it with a ton of force out of the hinges.

The gate was around 4 times the height of Kaiser and looked huge when compared to him.

Kaiser flipped the gate and grabbed it by its corner, he looked straight ahead at his target - the middle tower.

He pulled back his arm in a throwing stance and threw the metal gate in such a way that it was approaching the tower while rotating around its vertical axis.

Boom!

It lodged itself in the middle tower, messing up the foundation of the tower which resulted in its downfall.

The tower tilted to the front where there was almost no support, threatening to crumble and collapse onto the ground.

Krrk...

Khwack...

Whump...

And it did collapse. Killing hundreds of people in the process, the tower contained all the other parts of the marine base - the research laboratories, the kitchens, the chore boys dormitories, the mess hall, and many offices and working places for the marines.

The rubble fell onto them, smashing some beyond recognition, trapping them under the heavy rocks, restricting them from any passage of air as they cruelly die due to asphyxiation, blood loss...

Some debris off it fell onto the other two slightly smaller towers beside it as well.

As the tower shattered onto the ground, dust clouded the battlefield.

Kaiser picked up another two swords off the ground and walked straight towards the dustcloud.

Clang!

Someone just sneak-attacked Kaiser with amazing accuracy as it was aimed at his neck, if not for the timely defence, Kaiser may have been wounded a bit.

Another attack came at his legs, intending to make him stumble and weaken his balance.

Bang!

Clang!

Clash!

For a few moments in the dust, someone kept attacking Kaiser continuously. Kaiser seemed to be in trouble as he was only parrying while his opponent kept attacking him.

As the dust settled, Kaiser could now see his opponent, it was Rear Admiral Zaga.

Zaga had a cutlass in his hand as he glared threateningly at his enemy, he said with malice dripping from his tongue, "You criminal scum! Justice will be executed by me on you. You don't even deserve to live and go to Impel Down, you deserve to be sliced and fed with your own innards for all eternity as you burn in hell. Come on, Marua! Let's defeat him!"

No response...

"Marua?", asked Zaga questioningly when his junior didn't reply to him. He didn't want to turn his neck due to the danger of Kaiser attacking him.

Zaga had come to fight Kaiser along with his junior, Captain Marua. Zaga had left Marua behind and instructed him to come and fight when the dust settled down.

Zaga could manoeuvre his sword easily as he had Observation Haki. This was an incredible thing for a Rear-Admiral to possess, this signified his talent in Observation Haki among common people but it signified nothing in front of the true monsters in this world.

He looked behind as a feeling of unfortunate dread settled down in his mind.

And what he didn't want to believe came true.

There lied Captain Marua in pieces...

He had been thoroughly shredded into blocks as his body had become a big bloody pile of gooey mess.

Beside it laid his bloodied marine coat with 'JUSTICE' written on it.

Zaga turned back at Kaiser and shouted at him, his rage radiating out of his voice, "You bastard!!!!!"
