Chapter 82: The Pantheon I

.................

Yovan knows that Limitless is nothing but a test he didn't choose to take, and he's planning to fuck it over, and put it through misfortune!!

Yovan seems to have an affinity for accidentally destroying places, but almost never on purpose. He just forgets that some places can't handle him.

"Antarisa, you've gotten very fat." Yovan murmured with annoyance apparent on his face, "The price of laziness." Followed by a kick that sent Antarisa rumbling through the trees.

Afterward, he position his leg to block a kick from Hancock, followed by a kick of his. It was almost like a slow dance between the two as they fought with Armament Haki.

Yovan, however, has to take a breather somehow, so he ends up accidentally kicking away Antarisa.

It got to the point that rage filled the white panther as she started trying to attack as well, looking for opportunities.

"Why are you holding back?" Yovan wondered with curiosity.

"Why are you holding back?" Hancock asked him the same question as she came down with a kick directly to his face which he narrowly avoided.

"I'm not, not when it comes to Haki at least," Yovan responded as he followed up with a kick of his own, blocking an attack from her with his hand at the same time.

"I will not be using Conqueror Haki. It might hur... Because I don't want to." Hancock responded with a flush only to get sent rolling through the trees like Antarisa.

"You will only grow if you do your best, and push beyond. All you're doing now is annoying me, so allow me to force you to use your best." Yovan stated with annoyance as he hardened both his legs with Haki.

"Oh, then try your best!" It annoyed her how rough he always was with her. Like, couldn't he just kneel before her already?

Well, what she got was dark lines traveling through Yovan's body along with golden fiery lines. His Hardened legs lit up with golden flames completely under his control.

And then he tapped the ground beneath them, releasing an immense shockwave that acted like Soru to send him into a blur only to appear above Hancock.

Hancock was forced to do her best in the first attack. She sensed the burning heat coming from the golden fire. She felt the sheer danger of his attack.

So Hancock infused her Conqueror Haki with her Armament Haki, a technique she actually learned in her first battle against Yovan.

Infusion is an advanced technique of Conqueror Haki, incredibly rare. The users infuse their bodies and weapons with this Haki in a way that is very similar to Busoshoku Haki, greatly augmenting the power of their attacks.

And the sheer power of the Infusion created something akin to pink lightning around Hancock's legs as she fought back.

"Ah, feels good," Yovan remarked as he felt his leg almost getting broken by the impact, by the sheer destructive nature of her Conqueror Haki.

But the battle continued, Yovan was even instructing her on how to be more destructive, and how to use her powers better.

At the same time, he was training his Armament Haki and the powers of his Devil Fruit. Strangely though, he has yet to awaken his Conqueror Haki. It made him wonder if he just doesn't have the mindset for it.

His purpose in life wasn't to be a king nor rule or dominate, it was simply to do things that are interesting.

This type of Haki cannot be attained through training and only one in several million people are born with this ability, so Yovan had to wonder if he just didn't fit in that category.

However, he was certain that he would be able to awaken it nonetheless. Limitless shouldn't have such limits after all, but forcefully awakening it seems to be a Chore.

Hours went by before they stopped, Hancock seeming exhausted while Yovan seemed largely unbothered, "Antarisa, go get us some food, and by food, I mean meat."

And Antarisa did as she stumbled her steps into the depths of the woods, still too exhausted due to Yovan accidentally beating her up from time to time.

She was, however, facing a problem because there were no longer any more pigs to get as Yovan got rid of them all, she will have to hunt the true danger in the Island, the monstrosities that inhabit it.

"How did you do that? The fire?" It was something Hancock noticed since Yovan arrived, just a day ago, his golden eye, seeming like flames dancing within it, it made her curious.

"I Awakened my Devil Fruit." Yovan shrugged, lying without missing a beat.

"Huh?" His words left Hancock speechless. She assumed his scattering was actually his Awakening, but that doesn't seem to be the case, "Your Devil Fruit is a Mythical Zoan?" She wondered.

Yovan nodded, but he wasn't interested in expanding on that as he sat down to start training Kami-e, one of the Rokushiki techniques. It was the only technique he was focusing on.

The three-legged or tripedal crow is a creature found in various mythologies. It's said to be a small dark crow with golden eyes and three legs

It is also believed to inhabit and represent the Sun, basically the embodiment of the sun. His already broken Devil Fruit became even more so.

He closed his eye, relying entirely on his Observation Haki as he controlled numerous needle-like feathers, nailing them on his skin. It got to the point that he looked like a needle magnet.

Kami-e is one of the six techniques of Rokushiki that allows superhuman flexibility, and its method of learning is quite odd.

It has two stages, one where you basically dislocate all of your bones times and times again until your limbs become capable of moving in a way that shouldn't be possible.

Yovan found that oddly easy. Perhaps because all of his bones were very much comfortable with getting broken. All the suffering he went through seems to be paying off.

He finished the first stage in less than a day. Well, more like a few hours. The things his body went through made it very adaptable.

The next stage consists of nailing needles in one's skin, as much as one can handle, and allowing them to slip out simply by relaxing their body.

Yovan felt like Survivor's instinct was helping him in this regard, like it was contributing to his immaculate control of his body.

So he progressed very quickly through the stage as one has to nail the needles deeper and deeper, rinse and repeat until the bones are reached.

The process is supposed to be repeated thousands of times with bigger needles and make sure every area has been trained, but Yovan basically skipped most of the process.

Almost every part of his body was nailed with relatively large needles, and they were slowly but surely slipping out. The process is supposed to transform the user's muscle to become inhumanly flexible.

However, that wasn't Yovan's end goal. Kami-e is merely the start because his true purpose is Seimei Kikan, also known as Life Return, a technique that grants the user complete control over all of their body parts and bodily functions.

Hours passed before Yovan could finally release a deep breath as he finished the process.

"You're such a weirdo." Remarked Hancock with a frown as she elegantly fell from the sky right beside Yovan. The thing she focused on learning was Geppo, something that would surely help her abilities.

"Hm? Why?" Yovan wondered with confusion.

"Do you not feel any pain?" Hancock asked, almost seeming concerned.

"I think I do? I don't know?" Yovan shrugged, "Anyway, have I told you about the Pantheon?"

Changing the subject made Hancock frown, but she knew she can't change someone like him, so she could only let out a sigh of resignation, "No, what is that?"

"An organization of mine. You'll really want to join it considering your circumstances, so I make an offer, will you join the Pantheon under the Alias of the Goddess of Beauty And Love, Aphrodite."

His memory must've certainly gotten better considering he remembered the slave mark on her back, but perhaps his offer was just that important that it was something he couldn't forget.

Hancock frowned. Somehow, that doesn't sound like good news to her, "Why haven't I heard of such a goddess?" She questioned.

"I made it up." Yovan smiled as he waited for her response.

"Tell me more," Hancock said. She to a certain extent knows that her title as a Warlord of the Sea won't last forever.

There will come a time when she becomes disposable, and that means the death of her people, so she wasn't resistant to hearing what the Pantheon is all about.
