Chapter 93: A Tale Of A Bubble I

.................

However, something changed recently due to the World Noble's Death, a few individuals visited Fish-Man Island, seemingly expecting someone, and they were so strong that Vander saw no chance of victory.

Vander was interrogated for a long time, letting the Strangers know of everything he knows about the Fish-Man Island.

He even told them about his Devil Fruit powers, but afterward, he and his crew mysteriously vanished, never to be seen again.

The Island is part of the Ryugu Kingdom, the country that King Neptune rules over. It includes all of Fish-Man Island as well as the surrounding areas.

And soon, the Fish-Man Island was within their view. They seemingly left the Deep Sea because it was no longer dark. In fact, the area was very bright.

It was all due to the Sunlight Tree Eve, a colossal tree that absorbs sunlight and transfers it to its roots, which also supply air to the ocean floor through respiration.

It's a colossal tree that's miles high, extending from the Deep Sea to the surface. It is through this tree's roots that Fish-Man Island is able to have light 10,000 meters below the surface of the ocean.

The bright light allowed them to clearly see the beauty of the depths, and the colorfulness of the Ryugu Kingdom with numerous Corals, and some stunning underwater plants and creatures.

But the most dazzling of all is the Fish-Man Island. It is an underwater island which dwells 10,000 meters below sea level in a giant hole that goes under the Red Line at the bottom of a deep trench.

So it was naturally something special as it resides in a giant double-layered bubble floating above the sea floor, seemingly filled with about half water and reef and half air.

The radiant glow from the Sunlight Tree Eve makes it even more breathtaking than it already is, emphasizing the colorful Corals and the Island's complex infrastructure.

The Ship dove directly towards the Island, moving mostly through Kalifa's control of the bubble and the advanced engines of the ship.

The Strangers weren't about to enter discreetly. That was certainly not in their DNA as they broke through the bubble without damaging it, Seizon No Hono landing safely in a vast square.

It was a very vast place, seemingly one of the only places that can house a giant because not far from them was an unconscious giant.

It was an enormous fish-man, equal in size to the Angler Fish. His round head and chest are quite big in comparison to his arms and legs, and his hands were webbed. He has a big, round face, with a large mouth full of massive, round teeth quite distant from one another.

Seated on the Giant's chest were two individuals, seeming tiny in comparison but one of them was kind of a giant himself, reaching 500 cm in height, but nowhere near the enormous fish-man's 80 meters form.

He was a big, very muscular, broad-chested, heavily-armored, and dark-skinned man, and he was eyeing Yovan specifically with narrow eyes.

The other individual was a tall, muscular, broad-chested, tanned man with a curly, black mustache, a dark blue top hat, and an earring in each ear.

He was wearing a semi-open dark blue shirt along with white gloves, and light blue pants with a belt that holds two sword sheaths, one on each side.

"Kalifa, you'll come with me. Laffitte and Kaku, do whatever you want." Yovan said as he landed before the two along with Kalifa.

"Jozu." The giant heavily armored man introduced himself.

"Vista." And the Swordman did as well.

"Yovan." As per courtesies, Yovan introduced himself as well.

"The Fish-Man Island is under the Whitebeard Pirates' protection... We're Division Commanders here to make sure it stays safe." That's all they had to say to make things clear for Yovan.

Whitebeard predicted the Stranger would visit Fish-Man Island after his recent sighting in the Archipelago, and he must've heard of his accidental destructive tendencies, so here they are.

"Hm? I'm of course not looking for trouble. Do you think otherwise?" Yovan arched his brows with curiosity.

"Of course not... We totally believe you." Vista stated with a gentle smile, "We're here for individuals like this Giant, the ones out for trouble."

"Yahahahaha, don't worry. I won't destroy anything on the Island." Yovan smiled before starting to walk away along with a curious Kalifa.

"So what is it exactly that you're trying to destroy?" She questioned after walking far away.

To make sure he wasn't forgetting his goal here, he opened his notebook before, "Hehehe," Whatever Yovan said afterward remained unheard as they walked quite far away, towards the town.

It was clear by this point that Yovan didn't have any care for the original story, or how things are supposed to go. All he cared about was himself before the Strangers, his goal here says as much.

While Laffitte vanished somewhere, Kaku stayed along with the Ship, eyeing Vista with curiosity, specifically the two sword sheats on his person.

Kaku tapped the ground and vanished only to appear right before Vista much to the latter's surprise. His speed was something special even in Vista's eyes, one of the Whitebeard Pirates' commanders.

"How about a duel?" Kaku asked with hope.

"Oh? Against me?" Vista wanted to make sure the kid before him knows what he getting into.

"Yes, swordsmanship is my second forte, so I want to test myself." Kaku nodded as he unsheathed his two Katanas himself.

"Those swords..." Vista narrowed his eyes as he stood up.

"A gift from my Captain! They're amazing, no? The best ever!" Kaku's seriousness instantly melted away, turning into a child playing with new his favorite toys.

Those swords were one of the best in the World! They were one of the Artifacts that were exchanged for the Blueprints of Pluton by the Underworld Emperors, and Yovan handed them to him.

"Hvahahahahaha!" Vista laughed loudly as he unsheathed his swords, "Hah, Youth, I miss it."

Jozu, on the other hand, eyed the direction Laffitte vanished to with a frown. He had a bad premonition about that kid, 'He's definitely a psychopath, a serial killer perhaps?'

Whatever Laffitte was, Jozu followed after him just in case, and Yovan was left alone with Kalifa as they went shopping amidst fishmen.

"Pffft hehe, you look funny," Kalifa couldn't help but point out as she eyed Yovan trying out different shirts, trying to fit in.

"Huh? It looks good though, no?" Yovan asked in confusion.

"It would look good on a child." Kalifa corrected because he was trying all kinds of rainbow-like shirts with numerous colors, colors they didn't even know existed.

"Yahahaha, that sounds like a compliment, I'm a child at heart." Yovan shrugged as tried on a pale purple shirt, complementing it with purple pants, "Just wanna try something different."

His black cape was nowhere to be seen because he saw this more so as a small vacation.

"Mmm, I don't know how but it suits you?" Kalifa noted as she discreetly bit her lips. He was basically modeling for her, constantly having to deal with his half-naked muscular form.

It was a bit much to handle, but she hid it well, but what she couldn't handle was her face flinching whenever she eyed the numerous scars all over his body.

Eyeing his missing left arm and closed eye especially irked her, but at least she could see it. It was a wonder but she could see his arm slowly but surely regrowing.

The scars, however, seem to be eternal, a perpetual sign of all that he went true. It somewhat made her feel conflicted, feeling bleak for not being there for him when he needed her most but also proud that he survived it all.

Then again, he needed her to be there, but he didn't want her there because, in his heart, he knows that only he can survive such impossible situations.

"Let me... Hmm, yes, perfect." Kalifa approached Yovan and opened all of his purple shirt buttons, leaving his muscular form for all to see, "There is something atrac... Cool about the scars. They tell a story."

"Sure," Yovan smiled before eyeing the women's section, "It's your turn."

"Huh? No... sure." Kalifa released a sigh, knowing that he will get what he wants one way or another.

Yovan let out a chuckle of amusement before helping Kalifa shop for new colorful clothes, basically just having fun.

No one interrupted them despite being humans, and a significant portion of fishmen hate and loathe humans because of the things they made them go through.

Everyone kept their distance from him. Yovan could even sense the intense fear accumulating throughout the Island. They all know who he is, and they're afraid of him.

Even the guards kept their distance from him, and it likely has something to do with the Whitebeard Pirates. They were obviously wary of him, and his danger... 1.5 Billion Bounry is quite rare after all.

But not everyone could avoid him, especially as he made his way to a certain Cafe, a very special Cafe, one of his goals after getting enough information out of Vander.
