Chapter 7: Takeaway and New Plans

We sat in front of each other, and then I remembered something. "Oh yeah! Now that that's over, I remembered what I was wanting." I was less freaking out and at this point, and I was under much less stress, even with some new... expectations? from Captain.

"Oh? What could you mean by that?"

"I mean that I came to find you or Rayleigh so I could ask if you could maybe teach me Haki." I said in a hopeful voice.

"HAHAHA! Already starting on becoming the best Buggy you can, huh? I can't do it, but Rayleigh can!"

Rayleigh opened the door and stared at Captain, only to ask "What is it you want me to do Roger?"

'Um, he didn't use his observation Haki to spy on the conversation? Weird, I thought he would've, but okay.'

"Ah, Rayleigh! What perfect timing! I want you to teach Buggy here Haki! He's gotta be strong to fulfill a promise he made to me, so it would be great if you helped him out!"

Rayleigh was taken aback for less than half a second, before stating: "If it's you asking, I can do that." He turned to me, smiling a little. "Buggy, go rest for the rest of the day, you must be tired after your 'workout' and everything captain here talked to you about. We start tomorrow after you're done with your workout."

"Okay, Rayleigh, I'll find you tomorrow after my workout and we can start then." I got up, and headed towards the door, walking past Rayleigh, and then turned my head to Captain, to say "Gotta relax a little before trying to become comparable to you, Captain." And walked to relax on the deck.

"So, Roger, what'd you learn about him after I left?"

"While he isn't actually Buggy, Rayleigh, he's gonna take control of Buggy's legacy, and use his name to create a legacy. He's going to become the best Buggy, so he can make sure the name is remembered! That was what I made him promise. To become the best Buggy he can, which will make his name remembered." And Roger smiled. They both walked outside to the nearest railing, and stared into the distance at a seemingly random direction.

Rayleigh closed his eyes and smirked, with his head hanging ever so slightly. "I see, so that's how it is then. I have no choice but to help the current Buggy with creating a legacy, but I shall only be a pillar in what is to come. Hopefully he uses my training wisely." And they both stared in that direction, standing next to each other, knowing very well that a lot will happen thanks to the new Buggy.

It was night, and I finally decided to think over everything. 'So those two know my secret, I can trust them both though, Captain will probably bring it to the grave, and Rayleigh wouldn't just tell everyone without a word from Captain. But out of all that, I promised to basically make Buggy a legend, and I get to learn Haki from Rayleigh, so that's good.'

I was laying on a hammock on deck, with my hands behind my head, staring at the night sky, and continued to think. 'Today, I also learned how fast I can train with the physique from this world, yesterday I learned that I was physically as strong as probably like an average pirate near the end of Paradise, and although that is a little strong, the slow decline of growth may be because of the workout limit I set. So since I already have the limit of strength at a hundred pushups, situps, squats, and a distance that I have no idea, I should probably double it, make it a bit more challenging. But to actually do Haki training, I said I'd do it after my workout, so I should probably start earlier in the morning if I want to have time to actually try to use Haki.'

I blinked, and stared at the sky, noticing the beautiful colors and the millions of stars. 'I shouldn't slack on my devil fruit though, I've had a lot of time to think and increase my stamina, so I should be able to at least begin to Speedrun my own power. Starting with the amount of pieces I can split into would work best, and I could eventually turn to sand, and go on from there to create some of the craziest things ever seen. I bet most people with a devil fruit wouldn't expect some things I hope I can do.' I smiled evilly and chuckled a little.

And then I relaxed my face, and closed my eyes for several minutes. Until I heard someone above me, obviously looking at me. I opened my right eye to see Shanks staring at me.

I casually asked "Hi Shanks, whatcha need?"

He stared at me for another few seconds before saying "You really did go through a lot, didn't you?"

I opened my other eye and turned my head to fully look at him. 'Did they really just willy-nilly tell Shanks that I wasn't Buggy? Seriously?' My heart beat increased just a little. "Whatcha mean by that?"

"What I meant is, we never fight anymore. I try to have some fun and make you mad, but it barely phases you, you either say something that makes me think about it, or just don't answer. And although we did used to fight a lot, I miss those times."

'It was only a like, a month, maybe a month and a half ago, and he already misses our banter? Maybe we should still have some rivalry between us. I remember the perfect thing.' I smirked again. "Well, if that's all you gotta say, then I'll just tell you that the North Pole is colder."

And then we argued, well I asked him how the South Pole was colder, and just used his own words against him. While he was fuming, I was a little angry while trying to keep my head. And it continued until Captain himself had to hit us both on the head, telling us to go to sleep.

As I thought the night before, I got up early, and started my workout. It was only a bit hard because of waking up earlier, but I did the first entire set in only a couple hours, being a while before midday. And then I started the second set, and almost immediately, it was worse, since I only worked on one set, I wasn't entirely ready for the second, but it didn't get hard to do until around a third of the way through. And then I just pushed as hard as I could, like on the first day I even started the workout. And I somehow ended up finishing without much thought at a couple hours after noon. I stopped for a second, forgetting what else I was supposed to do, and then went to find Rayleigh.

He was near the front of the ship, talking to one of our crew members, who I still didn't remember, but waited for a second, and then Rayleigh saw me, finished talking to the crew member, and turned towards me. 

"Ah, Buggy, are you finally done with your workout for the day?" While still overexcentuating some of his movements. 'Thats really gonna continue, guess I just have to hope it doesn't follow me everywhere.'

"Yeah, I did twice as much as before, but still got it done, so I should be ready to start learning Haki whenever you want to start."

"Okay then, let's just walk, and I'll explain Haki to you, although I don't think you'll exactly need an explanation, but I'll still go over it to make sure you know." And we started walking around the ship. 'Okay, why did I agree to walk around the ship? I'm still almost dead tired, so I don't know if I should be doing this. BUT without doing this, I can't grow stronger. Guess I need to deal with it.'

And Raleigh spoke "I'm gonna start with teaching you Observation, since it may be easier to work on until you get stronger. Observation Haki is a spiritual sense, in a way, it allows you to sense the presence of others, even if you can't see them or you can sense them from far away with enough training."

"I knew that all, but in a way, it's like a sixth sense, if I know correctly?"

"Yes, you very much know about it, but can you use it? We should probably stop somewhere to see if you can even start to use it." And we walked for a few seconds until stopping on the main deck in an area with very few people, if any around.

"Okay, Buggy, can you sit down on the floor and close your eyes?"

I complied without a word, completely focused on everything a master of Haki could say. And with my eyes closed, I heard him say: "Try to sense the world around you. And I want you to try and sense exactly where I am. Until you can do that, we will be doing this training, and we will eventually work on your ability to act on whatever you sense, but just focus on this for now."

He spoke as he walked around me. All I could think about was visualization, since it worked with my devil fruit, it should work with Haki, right? I visualized what I remembered seeing before I sat down, and it was a scene of an empty ship, having a bunch of detail, being the stairs, the railings, the rope holding the masts, and one of the masts itself. I also remembered the position of the clouds in the sky, adding that into my mind. And I noticed the slight rocking of the ship, taking into consideration of the cloud placement. And using my hearing, I tracked some very light footsteps over the sound of waves around us. And when I was tracking that sound, taking everything into account, I saw where I thought Rayleigh was moving, and followed up by trying to grab Rayleigh while he was walking around me.

And what surprised me most was that I grabbed Rayleigh's leg. On the first try. 'Um... Was that supposed to happen? Was it Haki? Or just my senses?'

I opened my eyes to end up looking at Rayleigh's somewhat shocked face.
