As far as the see thru nightgown it was the best was to use a woman's figure to force a man to slip or get distracted at times or go easy on Maya.  In ether case she was using herself as a weapon.

An unlikely pair of a woman and a dog who both looked like they don't belong as the rest were ether rich and plush noble looking people or ragged and deathly looking slaves. Maya with a huge hammer over her shoulder and an ugly dog with only a bone of the chickens leg in its teeth stood our too much as guards were called.
