Chapter 8: Can A Goust Die?

"Where did she go?" an agitated to the core tone came out of captain drenched from sweat and fear body just barely held any sense of humanity left in him. He paced about in circles and demanded absolute perfection from his man as his shaking hands slapped his subordinate hard.

"Who are you talking about sir?" a scared soldier replied sheepishly.

"Theirs no one hear... Sir!" another jolted as he was staring right at the spot where his superior was pointing but not seeing anyone. So he just spoke out without thinking.

"FIND HER!" the last of the commanders nerves broke and he slammed the semi opened door that had been blocked off so hard that both the door and the item that was blocking it shattered into pieces.

"Sir your ha..."

A punch to the gut stopped the conversation mid sentence as the captain just stared at his man like a hungry lion stares at a baby goat.

All the guards just moved like the wind to do as ordered.

Pain shot into his hand and as Captain looked at it he realized that he broke his hand from punching too hard. Bones were sticking out of his forearm and all the fingers were smashed into something that reminded him of mashed potato's.

Maya lowered her face into her knees and simply disappeared to the world.

She heard the soldiers arguing about finding her.

But she was right their!

{Wait... Do they actually not see me?} she thought.

Curiosity made her move her head up to see what was going on.

To her shock a pair of boots were in her face.

With fear and despair she looked around carefully. Slowly observing everyone's faces hoping to see as one of them just stares at her and screams "we got you!"  But instead of that they were really scared and franticly searched every millimeter of the street with a fine toothed come.

Several time someone was actually standing in her spot without realizing it.

In fact every single time they so much as try to touch her something unbelievable would happen. They just fazed right thru her like she was some kind of goust.

But unlike a goust the air movement of their bodies would bend and twist and ripple her figure a little just like a small rock hitting a water.

{Am I dead?} ... her mind was asking some basic questions now. No I'm still alive because I can see and hear things.

{Am I a goust?} ... her body was responding to those questions. No I can smell things. That must mean I'm not a goust.

{Then why cant they see me?} ... maybe its because of that Devil Fruit? i did eat some of it by mistake when he hit me.

Maya started to go back to try understand and remember what happened to her. She had to figure out how this invisibility power happened and how will she become visible again?

She got up and slowly started to walk past the guards knowing that they will not see her.

All that they felt was a small breeze move past them as they franticly searched.

After loosing her pursuit she continued to wonder the streets for several hours. After walking carefully trying not to bump into people Maya reached the main shopping area and smelled some cooked meet.

GURGLE... her stomach reminded her that running away requires food and water. without thinking too mush she reached for a extra large fully cooked BBQ chicken and tried to pick it up to eat it.

To her horror the hand simply slid thru it like it was some king of illusion or projection.

Maya was confused to say the least.

How can she touch things if she was still invisible?

this will not do... no she had to be able to turn this power off and back on at will.

But how?

Sinise she felt hunger that meant that she needs to eat to live.

Maya was staring at the delicious food with great desire. Suddenly a commotion erupted around her and the man that she knew appeared on the scene.

Red believed that if he simply strolled around in the open the people who sold him will be worried about losing face and try to catch him again. This way he can have fun relaxing and still catch the ones who wanted him dead at the same time.

The smell of meat drove him into a big crowd. Without a care in the world Red Swarf pushed his way in. Many just stared in disbelief as this type of behavior never has been seen in the Celestial Kingdom. Everyone was always proper and courteous to each other.

The barbarity of this man scared many and when they saw his weapons glittering in the sun with blood dripping off them nobody was able to keep still. The entire area cleared our faster than one can blink.

Red Swarf began eating everything as he pocketed expensive looking items that were left in the empty stores along the street. As he was enjoying his fifteenth bacon rib quad layer burger a rifle shot blew a hole in one of his petties.

{Their finally hear} Red began his attack on his enemies with a huge grin.

The guards were all wearing full armor and some held guns. in total a group of 200 armed man surrounded him from all sides. Originally he only faced regular guards as he moved around in the open without fear. In fact he did that on purpose.

It only took two minutes to reduce this small army to five survivors. they were demanding back up and shaking as Red just eliminated them with a fast slash using a lower right hand only.

A wave of power cut the air itself as bodies were cut in half along the waist line with ease.

A large group of cannoneers appeared from behind the corner.

As Red crushed all opposition with no effort at all the big guns were called in.

This was not even considered a fight anymore. As the buildings began to be destroyed but even with this much effort the man withstood every single thing that was thrown his way.

Red was simply walking in the storm of explosions with a huge smile on his face.

Within only seventeen minute only a single cannon was left standing.

Red was hit square in the face with a explosive round, but that did not stop him at all. He simply slid sideways as he dodged a a shot from the cannon. And smiled as he moved in close to destroy it.

with a huge smile on his face he observed the destruction all around him as not much of a well arranged market was left stranding.

Looking around to his astounding and shock he witnessed something that his eyes could not believe.

A huge watermelon lifted itself up off the fruit table and began floating in the air.

Then a knife floated up to meet the watermelon.

After that the pair of objects danced about as the knife sliced the big fruit into bite size slices.

Finally to end this dramatic show the sweet red pieces of the watermelon disappeared into thin air and only the shell remained.

Red had to rub out his eyes as his brain had a hard time understanding what his eyes had seen.

Was he just imagining things?

Or did that last cannon hit him too hard that he started seeing things?

Red was going to make shore that this was nor a nightmare of some sorts. So with great haste he went closer to the last few still floating pieces of watermelon.
