The old lady kept her face straight, “I caused this embarrassment, so how can I not compensate you?” Then she turned to scold Qi Lingyan, “go on, what are you still standing here for?”
Qi Lingyan frowned. How could he not know that his grandmother was playing matchmaker? Still he said, “I don’t know Miss Su’s size…”
“There’s really no need…”
“Grandmother, I’ll go now.” Qi Lingyan didn’t let Su Xiaonai finish, turned around and left.
He was convinced that Su Xiaonai was playing hard to get, and he didn’t want to waste any more time watching her perform.
Ten minutes later.
Qi Lingyan returned with two sets of new clothes for Su Xiaonai.
“Thank you,” Su Xiaonai rushed to the bathroom.
Only Qi Lingyan and the old lady were left in the living room.
“Lingyan,” the old lady put on an overly amiable smile, with affection in her eyes, “what do you think of this girl?”
“Grandmother, could you stop picking up random nobodies for me?” exasperated, Qi Lingyan held his forehead.
In response, the old lady slapped him on the butt and snapped, “well, I didn’t see you bring back anybody. It’ll be your nephew’s wedding in a few days, and you, his uncle, is somehow still single at your age. You’re making me lose face along with you.”
Qi Lingyan’s slender body stiffened.
He had always hated being touched. Who would have thought that he would be spanked when he was almost thirty?
Even the old lady’s personal servant laughed when she entered.
“If you really don’t want to lose face, you won’t ask me to attend the wedding with his ex-girlfriend. Grandmother, I know what you’re planning, but do you really know what that woman is thinking?”
Overhearing this as she walked out of the bathroom, Su Xiaonai automatically clenched her fists.
She didn’t let her anger show as she said, “thank you, ma’am, Mr. Qi. I should leave now.”
Watching Su Xiaonai leave, the old lady turned to glare at Qi Lingyan.
Qi Lingyan looked helpless, “yes, grandmother?”
“Go see her out, you blockhead.”
She had expected better from her grandson.
By the time Qi Lingyan came out, however, Su Xiaonai was already gone.
At least she still had some sense in her.
“Yes, you saw her off? Did you get to add her on WeChat?” the old lady asked with excitement when she saw her grandson.
Qi Lingyan frowned. “There’s no need to contact her, so why bother?”
“Y-you, you disrespectful child! You want to see me die of anger, that’s what you want! Get out! I don’t want to see you right now!” The old lady was strong, her walking stick attacking the floor as she walked out.
Qi Lingyan was going to run after her, but was stopped by her harshly, “I don’t have you as a grandson. I’m cutting off ties with you.”
“Hmph! Don’t come back at all if you aren’t coming back with my granddaughter-in-law!”
The old lady was serious.
She walked towards the garden and muttered to herself. Can this child actually bring her a granddaughter-in-law?
“Grandma? Are you the grandma of that mister?”
The old lady turned around and saw a little girl around five to six years old. She had bangs and a babydoll haircut, her facial features delicate. Wearing a red dress and white leather shoes, she held a big red envelope tightly in her hands.
What a pretty little girl.
The old lady took a liking to her immediately. Tapping her head, she muttered, “I was going to say that child was turning thirty soon, he can’t have no needs. Turns out he’s just been hiding it from his grandmother, with his child already born.”
“Look at her. If she isn’t that brat’s, I’ll be damned.”
“Grandmother, you put too much trust in my ability. I don’t reproduce on my own.” Qi Lingyan, who had forced himself to chase after his grandmother, couldn’t help but rain on her parade.
His grandmother only glared at him. She didn’t want to be seen as some scary old lady to the little girl, otherwise she would have given him a whip.
It was rare that Qi Lingyan liked any child from the bottom of his heart. Squatting down and hugging the girl, he asked, “hey kiddo, what are you doing here?”
“My mo-auntie, my auntie told me to return this to you, mister, for the clothes just now.” Her big eyes were bright as she handed over the large red envelope.
This mister here is not so bad. He was good-looking and even took the initiative to hug her. He had the potential to be her daddy.
Auntie?
Is this Su Xiaonai’s niece?
Qi Lingyan’s feelings were mixed. He felt he should keep away from the little girl, but somehow he liked her, with her pretty face looking like a doll.
“Mister, are you single?” the young girl looked at him expectantly, “it honestly doesn’t matter if you aren’t. As long as you’re not married, there’s hope for me. I’m definitely younger and prettier than your girlfriend. I’ve got an IQ score of 176, surely higher than your girlfriend. When we have children in the future, they’d be good-looking geniuses as well.”
In order to secure her potential daddy in case he ran away, little Su Mubai was not afraid to deploy her greatest malice to humiliate her mommy’s possible rival in love.
Thinking it had been a while since she asked Su Mubai to return the money, a worried Su Xiaonai came back to look for her. Instead, what she found almost gave her a heart attack.
What kind of clown did she give birth to?
Being this young, how was she this flirtatious?
And with Qi Lingyan too?
She wanted to rush over and snatch Su Mubai back, but she didn’t dare. What if Qi Lingyan saw that the kid was his, and took her away?
Not far away, Qi Lingyan was still hugging the little girl, “does your mommy know you talk like this? Where is she? I’ll bring you to her.”
Su Mubai felt her daddy-to-be was a little too boring. She had said so much to confess her love, but he didn’t even sweet-talk back. And he wanted to send a cute little fairy such as her away.
“My daddy went to outer space, but my mommy is still staying here on Earth to work.”
This was the lie Su Xiaonai told her and her brother when they were younger.
Qi Lingyan couldn’t help but laugh and feel that the little girl looked more adorable. “Come on, let’s go find your mommy.”
Su Mubai sighed, circling her arms around Qi Lingyan’s neck and kissed. “Mister, are you really not going to think about this? It was love at first sight, and from now on I will declare you my boyfriend unilaterally. Everything on my computer will be about you, and you are not allowed to betray me.”
The passionate confession had Su Xiaonai’s eyes twitched.
No wonder Su Mubai is not as smart as her brother. She has used all her brain for guys.
This needs to stop.
Rushing back to the restaurant, Su Xiaonai asked her friend to bring that little heartbreaker back before she got herself trapped.
Entrusted with the mission to take Su Mubai back, Gu Xunjun almost choked on her breath before she could walk up to her.
The old lady asked the little girl with a smile, “what’s your name?”
“My mom’s brain is no good, so my name is no good. You can just call me Baibai. Grandma, you wouldn’t stop me from dating my Prince Charming, right?”
This was all Gu Xunjun could take.
“Su Mubai!” Gu Xunjun walked over with a straight face. “I asked you to send the money over, not to talk these people’s ears out.”
“It’s no problem, she is really lovely,” the old lady said with a smile. If she had the strength, she would have tried to snatch the little girl away for a hug.
Gu Xunjun knew just how easily Su Mubai can win people over. Otherwise she wouldn’t have reached peak popularity right after her debut and stayed there.
Even the stoic Qi Lingyan was in a good mood after talking to her.
“Sorry the trouble, I’ll take her away now. Goodbye.” Gu Xunjun took Su Mubai over in her arms and pinched her little nose. “You little trickster.”
The two of them had walked some distance when Qi Lingyan caught up with them and stuffed the red envelope back into the little girl’s hand, “go get some sweets.”
The girl’s eyes lit up. “Mr. Prince Charming, can you take a photo with me?”
Qi Lingyan agreed without thinking it over.
The young girl was too adorable. He couldn’t bring himself to say no to her, so he just went with it.
Once the photos were in her hands, Su Mubai quickly posted them online.
Qi Lingyan was curious and took a look at her Weibo username. He saw it change from “Baibai_Cutesy” to “QiLingyan_my_idol”.
She posted the photos they took together and about the red envelope.
Her caption: Pocket money from my Prince Charming.
Qi Lingyan had mixed feelings.
He was a private person, but he felt that it was fun to be treated with such sincerity by a little girl.
Su Mubai wasn’t ready to say goodbye, “Prince Charming, remember to follow me back.”
“I’m not on Weibo.”
“Liar!” Su Mubai curled her lips like she was about to cry.
Qi Lingyan actually felt a pinch of guilt and paused, “I’ll ask my assistant to register for an account.”
“You’re the best, Mr. Prince Charming. Goodbye, I will come again.”
Gu Xunjun almost dragged the little girl away.

She could not afford to have Qi Lingyan as her godson-in-law.
Carrying Su Mubai back, Gu Xunjun saw that Su Xiaonai had been talking on the phone, mentioning the name “Miss Su” several times in her conversation.
After she ended the call, she said, “Gu Sinan is marrying that woman.”
Gu Xunjun swallowed a sip of ice water and let Su Mubai go play by herself. “What are your plans?”
