The little Heavenly Demon Queen and the Absolute Spear… Although they hadn't started wreaking havoc just yet, their existence on the battlefield was a major threat to the Liberation Army!
The rustle of steel that ensued between the cannon fodder deafened the plain at Mount Heaven's feet, but everyone was pulled awake as a result of their bold moves.
Yeon was simply too hard to pin down. She didn't focus on a specific target, yet the low number of Unrestrained Martial Artists in the Murim League couldn't afford to surround her as they did with Cheon Chang.
Just her constant movement was enough to sow the seeds of paranoia everywhere.
Those that were focused enough to have a chance at downing their opponents had to watch their backs in fear of being the next to get their necks sliced off, while those that relaxedly stalled their targets in wait for the former's backup had to get serious just to stay alive…
Her first victim wasn't particularly careless, but he still couldn't see it coming!
On the other hand, the Absolute Spear quickly shed off his disguise, becoming a menace on the battlefield as soon as the third guy containing him was impaled by Leo. Two were already having trouble holding him back, and the last person standing in front of him was contemplating running for his life.
'Damn it!'
What originally seemed like a dunk to Geochin was quickly turning in the opponents' favor, and the fire that started all of that appeared to stem from none other than the man standing in front of him…
'Fine, we will just have to crush them with numbers.'
Despite his rising irritation, Geochin's head cooled down quickly. He was hoping that quite a few of the Unrestraineds on his side would die as well. After all, the Murim League's new top brass weren't exactly a controllable force.
He didn't kill the old tyrants just to make space for new ones. It was just that he didn't expect them to start falling like flies. If not through overwhelming force tactics like the one he employed before, Unrestrained Powerhouses weren't supposed to die this quickly…
Regardless of how unethical it was, Geochin had no option but to utilize the fallback plan. Even with the scale of high-tier power being tipped on the Heavenly Strength Society's side, the low-ranked Martial Artists of the Liberation Army greatly outnumbered that of the Society.
Once they thinned down the Society's infantry even further, they could be used as cannon fodder to surround the Unrestraineds in a deadlock, thereby giving the Liberation Army's Powerhouses the chance to harvest their heads!
Those who end dead would be a lot more than anticipated, but Geochin's hands were tied. This was the only path to a fair future! Even if it would drown him in blood, he had to see its end!
'... No, no! This can't be.'
However, just when things were starting to fall into track again, color drowned out of Geochin's face as he stared into the horizon beyond Mount Heaven… Something was coming.
"Are you sure it's a good time to be absent-minded like this?"
Leo was fully aware of what suddenly weighed down on Geochin's mind, but he threw another taunt out of frustration. Despite being totally out of it, the Blue Dragon still moved as smoothly as it did thanks to Namgung Geon taking charge.
Not everyone noticed it at first. The scattered eyes quickly moved to look in the same direction. It was hardly visible due to the skillful camouflage, but the suddenly released wave of energy was impossible to ignore!
Soon, the sound of the marching footsteps reached every ear and the weather turned a bit chilly as dozens of guests stepped onto the battlefield!
Despite the tense and now cold atmosphere, the one leading the visitors had a large smile on her face as she dropped off the green camouflage coat, her gaze traveling through the battlefield before finally landing on Leo.
"Sorry for being late! It's not easy to move around while hiding like this!"
The frigid crisp and the pure white hair that unfolded made it easy for most of those in the know to guess who had intruded, but not all of them were alike. The infamous Northern Ice Palace had come, yet this wasn't their army.
They were more of a ragtag similar to the very same Liberation Army gathered on the other side!
"We will catch up later… Everyone, let us do what we came here for!"
"Haaaaaa!"
Excitement was a hard feeling to draw in the stressful field of life and death, unless… One felt victory leaning on their side, and that was exactly what Leo, Yeon, and Cheon Chang had managed to accomplish through their chain of action!
The frightening Powerhouses were collapsing against what initially seemed like the underdog of this battle. All that remained was to balance the foundation, something that was within the capabilities of this hastily put-together reinforcements. In fact, it was the only task that they could hope to achieve.
The timely manner was a huge indicator of that, their sudden appearance wasn't a coincidence. They had only marched forward once they confirmed they weren't' pointlessly throwing their life away.
However…
'Perfect.'
Leo had no problem with that realistic approach, the 'power of friendship' was bogus unless it was on the main character's side. In the first place, he and the Heavenly Strength Society were ready to deal with all of that on their own, so getting a little help now was already appreciated.
"Flip it aside!"
The Liberation Army was almost done surrounding the Society's members from all sides. If not for the tactical distribution of the Transcendents, they would be slowly compressed into a tight spot, crushed like an old car.
But now, this same awkward position made for a great pincer attack in conjoinment with the late arrivals. The unexpected allies could easily attack their opponents even with their lack of coordination!
"Now then, don't you think it's about time for this to get serious as well?"
