After taking one last look at the Absolute Spear's disappearing figure, Leo called out to Yeon while he stored his new weapon.
'Senior Brother sure was careful.'
By looking at Yeon's eyes, Leo was able to confirm that she didn't hear anything of what they said. From the looks of it, it seemed like Cheon Chang had created some sound barrier to prevent himself from spoiling Yeon…
"Then, shall we get going for real this time?"
Although it sounded irresponsible to leave the horse carriage in the middle of nowhere like this, the horses of the Heavenly Strength Society were smart enough to know their way back to their stables.
As long as it was left alone for a certain while, it would be well on its way back.
"Let's go."
Both Leo and Yeon had no destination in mind, but they just shot forward at the same time. Though he wasn't sure what Yeon had in mind for once, Leo just wanted to run far enough until they would get off from the rest of the world and be on their own!
'If this was a higher fantasy novel…'
Blaming the lacking concept of Transcendence in Murim, Leo lamented their inability to just teleport and reach whatever place they had in mind like entities who had actually transcended the limits of their world.
If this was a novel where characters became capable of doing whatever they wanted in the ending chapters, they would have been able to tour the entirety of Murim in a single week.
'Putting that aside…'
Before he knew it, Leo and Yeon had already run far away from Mount Heaven. There would be no one to interrupt them in this place, but now that push had come to shove, Leo was getting cold feet.
Once again, imagining Yeon looking at him with contempt almost crushed his heart. Just as she had grown dependent on him, Leo had grown dependent on her to a certain degree.
Being chased out of this world by Yeon wasn't something that he even wanted to imagine!
Although Yeon didn't say anything when he showed her the Shadow Star nor did she ask for an explanation when he spoke of the future, that didn't necessarily mean that she would accept him for who he was.
'She could be just pretending she doesn't see it.'
Perhaps Yeon's way of showing love was to ignore all of these suspicious points. By not asking him to explain anything, she just didn't have to even consider his identity so that their relationship would remain the same regardless of the truth…
'Maybe I should just use that while I still have time.'
Leo had no use for Yeon's blade skills, but his anxiousness brought him to think of the 'Skill Reading Page' that he received earlier.
If there was a possibility that it would be his last, shouldn't he try to immerse himself in what she thought prior to what he was about to reveal?
Wasn't this his chance to directly feel Yeon's love before it was too late?
'I…'
Or should he just keep everything hidden as it was?
Did he even deserve that love if all he thought about was selfishly thinking of himself? Was hiding the truth really better for Yeon?
He didn't know what would happen to this world after he left, but he had promised himself that he would find her again no matter what. Yet, he actually wanted to leave her alone without any answers until then.
How could he be deserving of anything if he did that especially when he knew about her dependency on him?!
He even dared to think of purposely invading her thoughts for his own self-satisfaction!
"Ho…"
Having long stopped in place and closed his eyes to think, Leo was suddenly brought back to reality by Yeon's voice. Split between two minds, there was only one thing he could think of.
In order to stop himself from doing something he would regret, Leo suddenly grabbed the Emerald Calamity from his back and drew the bowstring as far as he could!
"...Aaaaaghhhhhhh!"
In one decisive thought, Leo let out a large energy arrow as he immediately used the 'Skill Reading Page' on the Heavenly Arrow!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Throwing one small explosion after the other, Leo tried to detach himself from his anxious thoughts by immersing himself in the former pillar's Transcendent Archery!
Naturally, this wasn't something that he did on a whim. He had already narrowed down the ones that would be the most efficient and beneficial for him to use the 'Page' on to The Fist Lord and The Heavenly Arrow.
However, considering the fact that Yeon's Bowmanship proficiency was the lowest of the two while Archery was one of the hardest skills to master, he made the choice he believed to be correct.
[ The Second Chapter of the Reader's 'Bowmanship' has ended. ]
[ 'Intermediate Bowmanship' has been corrected to 'Advanced Bowmanship'. ]
[ The Third Chapter, 'Advanced Bowmanship', has started. ]
After another share of faint memories and experiences, Leo's raging thoughts calmed down as he finally formed the resolve to not leave behind any regrets.
If Yeon truly loved him wouldn't she be the one that was dying to know everything there was to know about him?
On the other hand, if he was just Baekho's replacement, wouldn't it be better for the both of them that he dispelled that illusion of hers and cut things off before it was too late?
"Yeon. Actually, I'm not a person of this world."
"Hmm?"
"My real, or rather my first, name is Leo, Leo Lock. In my world, your reality was just a novel, a book, that I had once read. That is precisely why I know a lot about more than a few future events."
"I know it doesn't make sense, but for some reason, I possess the ability to enter certain novels. I don't know why or how this happens, but I get certain tasks in the worlds that I visit, and this time, my task was to help you stand against Geochin."
"I personally believe that I'm Baekho and Baekho is me, but I would understand if your perception of me had changed. In case you don't want someone like me around you any longer, just say so and I will take my leave right this moment…"
