Chapter 434  The World Reservation Council’s Enemy

"And most importantly…"

'Is his Role related to Telekinesis?'

Before Leo could hear Damon's warning, he focused on analyzing the pressure that came crashing at them.

In fantasy novels, there were many ways to cause such pressure, but this familiar pressure reminded Leo of the ability of an Unrestrained Martial Artist in Murim…

"Never join the World Reformation Front. Otherwise, we will mercilessly eliminate you the next time we meet on the battlefield."

The other two newcomers didn't fare well under the pressure, but even then, they still looked at Damon with apprehension, focusing on every word he said.

It was obvious that none of the newcomers knew what he was talking about.

"I had already explained to you what we believe the purpose of Roleplayers to be. However, that chaotic syndicate has another idea in mind. They are crazy enough to believe that their purpose is to change the structure of the world, appointing Roleplayers as the rulers of the planet!"

It was obvious that Damon greatly despised the organization that he was describing as the pressure only continued the increase.

There was no more slideshow-like attachment, only a very tangible threat. However, Damon's distorted expression quickly vanished, and his face suddenly turned blank as he redirected his attention to the newcomers.

"They view normal people as inferior and Roleplayers as the true human race. The privileged class that everyone else should bow to… Does anyone here think this way?"

"No!"

'He is pretty smart.'

Leo and Yulia remained silent, but one of the other two screamed in denial while the one next to him kept shaking his head. Damon's scare tactics seemed very effective for the most part.

"Good. Even if you want to run away from responsibility, the one thing you should never do is add on to our already heavy burden, and that's precisely what that syndicate does."

As if all of that was a mere facade, the pressure was suddenly retracted as Damon's blank stare quickly morphed into a friendly smile.

Let alone explaining what he had just done, he went on with his speech like nothing had happened.

"Instead of helping us deal with the threat of the unknown, they became the threat. Trying all methods to reveal their existence to the world, forcing us to go to greater lengths to stop them and hide their atrocities before they blow up…"

While Damon's speech has been plastic thus far with all the intentional pauses and the accompanying magic show, Leo had to admit that he got the image through quite well.

'Two organizations at very opposite ends.'

World Preservation and World Reformation. One wants to keep everything normal as it is while the other wants to change the world and reshape it into their image.

As worrying as the existence of such two opposite poles in his reality was, Leo was intrigued by the contrast to what he had recently experienced.

The Council practically had Geochin's goal. However, they started working towards that goal before it was too late. Using their special abilities to detect and hide other superpowers.

On the other hand, the Syndicate known as the World Reformation Front wanted the exact opposite of Geochin's target, yet practically used the same methods as that misguided protagonist…

Forcing their ideals upon the whole world!

'Though the Council is likely more powerful.'

Considering that Leo hadn't even caught a glimpse of the unnatural before all of that, it looked like the World Preservation Council was winning this confrontation, for now at least.

Needless to say, since a peaceful life was his goal, Leo leaned toward the World Preservation Council's ideology. It also felt like the most reasonable way to go about things.

That is… Unless someone truly desired Earth to be even more chaotic than Murim…

"They claim to be doing all of that for the sake of other oppressed Roleplayers and those that would have to be born in such a restricted world. Yet, they don't even hesitate to kill any of their 'fellow' Roleplayers as long as they stand in their way."

Damon's cautionary tale didn't seem to end just yet. He was very intent on planting the hate he had into the hearts of these newcomers.

"If you can find us… Then wouldn't they be able to?"

At the very least, he succeeded in making the shaky newcomers fear them. This way, they wouldn't even dream of approaching the World Reformation Front even if they had the great ambition of they would attack you before tempting you to join them first. The part that you should be worried about is falling for their sweet world conquest.

"Ah, there is no need to worry too much. It's rather unlikely that they would attack you before tempting you to join them first. The part that you should be worried about is falling for their sweet words only to be used as a disposable, discarded whenever convenient."

Although Damon spoke in a contradictory manner, this was all a part of his plan. Before fear or hate, the seed of distrust had to be buried deeply for everything else to sprout.

"Besides, we might not look like it, but we are a Specialist Team that is usually dispatched to deal with the Syndicate's troublemakers, with us here, no such harm will befall you."

'You are not very honest.'

His words sounded humble, but all that Leo could read from Damon's face was absolute pride. He was the epitome of self-confidence.

"That being said, we can't protect you forever if you decide to walk away or join the Roleplayer Union. It's better that you make a decision quickly since we can't stay here all night."

After laying down everything that he had to say, Damon dangled the hook that he had long cast, waiting for the fish to bite.

'Is this really going to be the conclusion?'

While this meeting had been very educational, Leo felt that something wasn't right. Didn't every special event need to have a plot twist at the very end?

'Right, this is reality…'

Leo's first meeting with the supernatural seemed to be nearing its end without any problem, all that was left…

Bang!

Just then, something big collided with the building. In the end, it seemed like a peaceful conclusion was too much to ask for.
