IS IT GOOD?

The two then appeared in the living room in the suitcase, Hermione squeaked a little bit because she was surprised by the feeling of blinking.
“That feels weird.” Commented Hermione.
“Apparating is worse, trust me.” Ed countered solemnly.
The two then sat on the sofa, relaxing a little bit, but the relaxation was interrupted by Gilligan, who appeared suddenly.
“Well, well, well, look who’s back.” Said the owl, a bit sarcastic.
“Hello Gilligan.” Greeted Ed, not knowing that the owl was being sarcastic.
“Really?” said the owl, “No ‘thank you’, no ‘Oh, you’re my saviour Gilligan’, nothing?”
Ed looked at the owl strangely, “Why would I say that?”
“Because I saved your life?” asked the owl rhetorically.
Ed chuckled, “Yes, you did, but you saved yourself too, don’t tell me you’d rather go with those greedy councilmen?”
The owl instantly grimaced, “No, I’d rather not…”
“Then there you have it; we both save our asses.” Said Ed, “I met ‘uncle’ Alan at that place, care to share your thoughts?”
Gilligan sighed, “If you really want to know, he’s in the tree, it’s just quite hard to find it, his name is on one of the corner branches.”
“So, he’s real? A family I mean.” Asked Ed.
“Yes Ed, don’t worry, he can be trusted.”
“So, will he help the family sort out this mess?”
“Yes, now, what did he say?”
Ed pondered a while before saying, “He said he will take the name of Aldrich after I finish the trial of combat, and he will help me smoothen the search for my parents…”
Gilligan nodded, “That’s good, he will definitely be helpful later…”
“By the way, how am I supposed to survive the trial by combat?” asked Ed weakly, Hermione hearing this instantly listened to the conversation more intently.
“You want to know about it now?” asked Gilligan, Ed responded with a nod, “You will need to break one of the rules that I enforced to you from the first time we met.”
“Which is?” asked Ed curiously.
“The one where you can’t meddle with space too much or it will cause a catastrophe.”
Ed’s expression fell, he sighed tiredly and massaged his forehead, “I know where you’re going with this…”
Hermione was practically dying to know, “Well, what is it?”
Ed looked at Hermione and answered solemnly, “He wants me to commit suicide.”
Hermione digested the information she just got for a couple of minutes, then shrieked to the owl, “You want him to do what?!”
“It’s not like that little girl.” Explained Gilligan, “My idea is that Ed here, will make a tactical mistake of dealing with space, and run away from the trial grounds immediately, so he won’t be one of the victims.”
“How am I supposed to run from a fucking black hole Gilligan, it literally absorb anything, even light itself.” Ed asked annoyedly.
“Use your blinking Ed, trust me, you will succeed if you train hard enough,” said Gilligan, “Besides, if you want, you will use that as a last resort.”
“All right, basically, black hole as a last resort, what about the first resort?”
“You train hard, that’s it.” Answered Gilligan, “You’re one of the best, or rather, will be one of the strongest fighters in the family Ed, your talent in combat is quite something.”
“Well thank you for the compliment Gilligan, but let’s focus on trying to not get me killed shall we?”
The owl sighed, “Like I said, train, I will triple your training routine, and we will work on your blinking so you will be able to escape a black hole.”
“Wait, wait, wait a minute here!” shouted Hermione, “you want to summon a black hole where there are innocent human beings?”
Ed nodded in agreement, “That’s a good point Gilligan.”
Gilligan shook his head, “No, the trial grounds will be a deserted world, so you can let loose there.”
Ed sighed, “You know what, let’s talk about this later, Hermione, what do you want to eat?”
Hermione blanked a little bit, “Huh? Oh, whatever you can make I guess, I don’t really know what’s good…”
Ed hummed, “Okay Gilligan, bring out the ingredients, I will cook for Hermione.”
Gilligan sighed, “Very well Ed, we will talk about your training later.” The owl then disappeared for a couple of minutes, and appeared again, with food ingredients floating behind him. He put the ingredients on the kitchen counter and left, leaving the two alone.
A couple of minutes later, Ed was preparing the ingredients to be cooked, while Hermione was sitting on the sofa of the living room solemnly, she was looking at a bottle on top of the fireplace, her parents’ souls
“Ed?” she called the boy-who-is-cooking weakly, with a longing expression on her face.
“Yeah?” he answered, still focusing on the ingredients.
“I was wondering… how are you going to revive them? my parents I mean.” She asked softly.
Ed froze on the spot, and put on a serious face, he pulled out his wand and casted a spell.
“Accio ‘Book of Revival’” he chanted.
A book flew from Ed’s backpack in the corner of the room and floated to Hermione.
“Read that book,” said Ed softly, “You’ll know.”
Hermione nodded weakly and read the book, she read the content of it slowly and intently, while Ed continued cooking in the kitchen, he was cutting mushrooms, onions, carrots, chicken, beef, potatoes, and many more, the smell of the cooking permeate the room, making the one who smelled it drool a little.
“It smells good,” Hermione commented, “What are you making?”
“Beef and Mushrooms with smashed potatoes,” answered Ed, “And also broccoli Chicken Casserole.”
Hermione hummed, “That sounds great.” She said while smiling at Ed.
Ed smiled back at the girl and remembered something, “Oh, can you tell Roger and Anna we won’t be having dinner at the dining room? It’s already evening, Hermione, might as well eat dinner…”
Hermione nodded, “Okay, I’ll be back in a minute.” She answered while getting out of the room, on the way to tell the Andrews.
Ed then continued to cook, enjoying every second of it. It helped him take his mind off of things, but then Gilligan appeared out of thin air again, startling the boy.
“Fucking hell Gilligan, what if I was pouring hot water or something?” Ed cursed in annoyance.
Gilligan ignored the comment and said to the boy, “So, while the little girl is out of the place, I think it’s time to give you ‘the talk’.”
“What talk?” asked the boy while continuing to cook.
“You remember the third rule?”
Ed froze once again, pausing the cutting. “What about it?”
“You know what I am talking about Ed.” Said the owl sternly, “Do you want to?”
Ed sighed tiredly, “I don’t know Gilligan, let’s just see where this goes okay?”
“You have to be decisive Ed, it’s either a yes or a no.” advised the owl, “Don’t do it halfway, it will only hurt the both of you, especially you.”

“I don’t even know if she likes me that way or not Gilligan, remember the books? Who would she marry?” Ed countered.
The owl shook his head, “This is a different universe Ed, not that book’s universe, it has you in it, the book will only act as your guideline for the future.”
“Is it right though?” asked Ed thoughtfully, “Denying someone their love?”
“They’re not in love yet Ed…” answered Gilligan, “So you did not deny anything.”
Ed pondered a while, his face showing a thinking and longing expression. Seeing this, Gilligan sighed,
“Are you interested in her?” asked Gilligan.
“I-” Ed stuttered, “I don’t know, okay? I’m still a kid, let me figure this out on my own…”
Gilligan just shook his head in worry and disappointment, but before he could say anything, someone interrupted their conversation.
“What are you two talking about?” Hermione asked curiously as she climbed down the stairs.
Ed looked at Hermione and smiled weakly, “No, nothing Hermione, the food will be ready in a minute, just sit on the sofa.” Said Hermione, which she just nodded.
“Gilligan, do we even have a dining room?” asked Ed.
“We have, but we have to replace the bar.” Informed Gilligan, “I’ll teach you.”
Gilligan then flew to the bar, he searched for something on the edge of it. Then he found a red button, begging to be pressed.
“Just push this button.” Explained Gilligan, “It’ll change to a dining room, push the button again to change it to the bar.”
Ed nodded and continued the cooking to finish it. And a couple of minutes later, the food was finished, the smell was quite tempting, making Hermione drool.
“Wow,” exclaimed Hermione, “I can’t wait to taste it.”
Ed shook his head in amusement and pressed the button, changing it to a dining room, he then placed the food on the table, and the two sat for dinner. Hermione then took some of the food on the table, tasting it.
“Is it good?” Ed asked while also taking a portion of the food he made.
“It’s Delicious!” Hermione commented happily, “You’re a really good cook…”
Ed just smiled proudly at Hermione, then the girl commented further, “How are you so perfect Ed? you’re good at magic, music, you will run a company in the near future, and now you can cook, I seriously envy you.”
Ed chuckled in amusement, “Well, I had to make those expectations I guess, I mean, the Andrews took me in, treated me like I’m they’re own blood, they never question anything I do, so I must at least make them proud.”
Hermione smiled sadly at this, and Ed realised his mistake, and about to say something, but before he could say anything, she asked Ed something about the revival.
“How will you get all those ingredients Ed?” she questioned, “It seems a lot…”
“Oxygen, 43kg - Carbon, 16kg - Hydrogen, 7kg - Nitrogen, 1.8kg - Calcium, 1kg - Phosphorus, 0.78kg - Potassium, 0.14kg - Sulphur, 0.14kg - Sodium, 0.10kg - Chlorine, 0.095kg - and Magnesium, 0.019kg.” answered Ed, “The body of the deceased and the soul of the deceased…”
“A lot…” commented Hermione weakly.
“I know, it’ll be quite hard to find the pure ingredients, and I don’t quite understand why we need all of that to be honest, we already had a body… I never fully read it though, so maybe there’s some explanation.”
Hermione nodded. “Yes, the old body is just for the appearance, while those ingredients will create a body that can actually contain a soul.” She explained.
“You’ve read the whole thing?” asked Ed in surprise.
“Yes Ed, I’m quite curious…”
Ed sighed, “I suppose, don’t worry about the ingredients though, Gilligan will do something, so I’m sorry Hermione… We can’t do it now.” Ed answered and smiled sadly at Hermione.
“It’s fine Ed.” She said dismissively, “You need to focus on your training first though, I don’t want you to die…” she continued, worry can be seen in her expression.
“I’ll be okay Hermione, I promise, I’m a lot tougher than you think.” Ed said to the girl while giving her a smile of reassurance.
“By the way…” continued Ed, changing the topic, “How’s Hogwarts? I didn’t ask when we were at the teashop.”
Hermione turned gloomy a bit, “A lot actually, when we first started the semester, I was watching Harry practice quidditch with Ron.” She said while eating her food, “But then the Slytherins came in, I saw them and the Gryffindors got into a fight, so I went down to the field, the Slytherins were showing off the brooms that Malfoy bought for the team, and we were bickering about it, and I made a comment that the Gryffindors didn’t have to buy their way in to the team, and they got in on pure talent, but then Malfoy called me a mudblood.” She told the story, which Ed just hummed.
“Ignore whatever that tosser says Hermione,” Ed advised, “It’s useless to take his obvious taunt, so next time just ignore him, he’ll be fatherless in a few months anyway, so he can’t threaten all of you with his name anymore.” Ed said dismissively.
Hermione frowned at Ed’s dismissive attitude at the mention of killing but didn’t say anything.
“Oh, right.” Ed remembered something and grinned, “Speaking of Ron, how’s your relationship with him?” Ed teased her a bit.
Hermione frowned even deeper, “What do you mean?” asked the girl.
“Well, you kind of know the future right? The one without me in it at least, and you married Ron, so, have you developed any feelings recently?” asked Ed with a smirk on his face.
Hermione scowled, “Of course not, I won’t follow that future you told me about, I want to marry someone else other than him…”
Ed raised his eyebrow, “Hm? Who do you want to marry then?”
Hermione instantly blushed at the question, “W-Well, I don’t know yet, I’m still quite young you know, can we please not talk about this?”
Ed chuckled, “All right, then out of all the Gryffindor boys, who do you have a crush on?”
“Ed!” grumbled Hermione, a bit shy at the question, “I said not to talk about this!” she said with a flushed face.
“Fine then,” Ed giggled, “All right, I remember you were brewing Polyjuice potion when I visited you, did you discover anything?”
Hermione shook her head, her face still a little bit flushed, “N-No, we didn’t find anything, Malfoy only talked about his father and Dumbledore…” answered Hermione, “Do you know who caused the petrification of the students?”
Ed hummed, “It’s a basilisk.” Answered Ed, who surprised Hermione.
“But a basilisk stare can kill you! Not petrified you!” exclaimed the girl.
“Yes, but the victims didn’t directly look at the creature in the eye…” said Ed, which made Hermione think.
“Colin Creevey from his camera… Mrs. Norris from the puddle… Of course!” She made an ‘Eureka’ face. “I need to tell the professors then!”
“It’s useless Hermione.” Said Ed, which made Hermione confused, “I already told Dumbledore, but it looks like he didn’t do a thing.”
“B-But why?” asked Hermione, “Why didn’t he do anything?”
“It’s because of the one who controlled the basilisk.” Ed explained, “I don’t want to explain to you Hermione, I told you that I won’t interfere with Harry’s problem this year, so he and his friends, in other words, you need to solve this on your own.”
“But it can kill a student, Ed!” countered Hermione, “How are you okay with this?”
Ed sighed, “Okay, okay, I’ll give you a clue then, the chamber of secrets’ entrance is in the girl’s bathroom that has moaning myrtle in it.” He relented, Hermione was quite surprised at the revelation, but Ed continued, “And Hermione, don’t go to the library alone please, if you want to go, ask me to go with you all right?”
“Why? why can’t I go to the library alone?” asked Hermione in confusion.
“I’m quite worried that you will be attacked Hermione, in fact, don’t go anywhere that’s quite empty alone, always ask me to come with you, promise me Hermione.” Ed said decisively, which made the girl blushed a little bit.
“O-Okay.” She stuttered. “Then what about the chamber of secrets? How can we open it?”
Ed shook his head, “You have to figure it out by yourself Hermione, I don’t want to interfere any further, but I promise you I will help all I can next year.”
“Next year?” she asked, “There’s trouble again next year?”
“Of course, Hermione,” Ed chuckled, “You’re friends with Harry Potter, how can there not be trouble around him.”
She too chuckled at the statement, “I suppose you’re right.” She said in agreement, “Speaking of next year, we can go to Hogsmeade, and I want to go there with you for the first time.” She continued while staring at Ed’s eyes seriously, but her cheeks were a bit red.
Ed raised his eyebrow, “Not going with Ron?” he teased again.
Hermione shook her head shyly, “No, I want to go with you…”
Ed even blushed a little bit because of Hermione’s behaviour, “All right, I’ll go with you…” he answered blankly.
Hermione smiled widely because of the answer and continued to eat peacefully. The two had a blissful evening, a hearty dinner, and some nice bonding. After that the two went to their respective room to end the day, sleeping with a smile on their faces.
