Ed woke up in his room in the suitcase. His body is full of sweat, the sheets are soaked, and he is breathing heavily. He looked around and remembered that he decided to stay in the suitcase for a while, as his roommates, especially Dean and Seamus, started to complain about Ed’s episodes every night. He doesn’t blame them, though, it’s a normal reaction; in fact Ed was surprised that it lasted this long. Ed just excused himself, saying that he’ll sleep in a private room.
Ed stood up from the bed; he threw his soaked clothes into the basket and changed to a new one. He looked at the time. One in the morning. Ed sighed and just walked to the living room to calm himself down.
He sat down, listening to the crackling of the fireplace. It wasn’t enough. So he stood up; he walked to the gramophone, and searched for the vinyl records. He picked a song, ‘Ella Fitzgerald - Someone To Watch Over Me’. He closed his eyes, enjoying the slow melody.
“Now this is nice.” Ed smiled weakly; he then walked back to the couch, sitting on it with closed eyes. After a while, he opened his eyes once more; he scanned the room, and looked at a specific corner of the room, the bar.
“I never explored that place, haven’t I?” Ed thought to himself as the song went on. Ed stood up, he walked to the bar, and looked around it.
“Alcohol…” Ed said, he grabbed a bottle, it had a yellowish liquid inside, and Ed read the rough label on the bottle, “Miruvor…”, Ed then grabbed another bottle and read the label again. “Château Lafleur… 1950, damn, that’s old…”
He took a couple more bottles out, and stared at it. “I can drink it, right? I mean, it’s just testing… Gilligan also didn’t forbid me…”
Ed kept staring at the bottles, seemingly thinking of drinking it. “Oh fuck it.”
Ed then grabbed a wine glass from the bar, and opened the Miruvor; first, he poured it into the wine glass. He took the glass to his hands, and smelled it.
“That smells interesting…” Ed said. “Okay, here goes nothing…”
Ed then drinks the liquor, and his face is quite weird after, “That tastes… great!”
Ed then poured it again, and drank it. After that, he slowly moved bottle to bottle, trying every single one that he pulled out of the bar. By the end of his charade, he’s drunk, or rather, wasted.
He simply passed out at the bar. Leaving a mess. The next morning, Ed felt horrible. He had the nightmare, but this time, it’s more intense. After he woke up he also suffered from a hangover; he felt dizzy when he woke up, and when he did wake up, he was greeted by a giant owl in front of him.
“Hello Gilligan.” Ed groaned, his head feeling like he had been hit by a truck.
“What did you do?” The owl asked.
“You’ve seen it, Gilligan. I’m just trying some alcohol.”

“You’re 13…”
“So?” Ed said, “10/10, would do it again, the nightmares are really bad though…”
“It’s not healthy Ed.” Gilligan scolded, “I didn’t ban you from alcohol, but this is just too much.”
“Like I said Gilligan, I’m just trying everything.”
Gilligan sighed at Ed’s condition and helped him stand up. “Go shower, you reek of alcohol right now; what if the girl knows you’re doing these kinds of things in this place?”
Ed flinched at this. “Yeah, best hurry to clean up…”
Ed then showered and brushed his teeth, trying hard to get rid of the alcohol scent. He stayed quite long in the bathroom, as he was throwing up. After he finished showering, Ed walked back to the bar and cleaned the place, not forgetting to spray some perfume so the smell of alcohol would be masked.
After that, he got out of the suitcase to start the day; he didn’t do his routine this time, as he was quite late already. He walked to the Great Hall, wanting to eat some breakfast. When he arrived at the long-table, he was greeted by Hermione, who had already eaten on the table.
“You look dreadful, what happened?” Hermione asked in worry. “You smell funny as well… what’s that smell?”
“Nothing Hermione, you don’t have to worry about it.” Ed hastily said, “Anyway, how’s the progress with Luna?” Ed asked as he looked at the Ravenclaw table.
“She’s stubborn.” Hermione sighed, “But at least she admitted that she’s being bullied now…”
Ed smiled weakly at the girl. “Good.”
Hermione narrowed her eyes as she smelled Ed’s breath, “Are you sure you’re fine? Your breath smells really awful…”
Ed was secretly sweating right now as she covered his mouth, not wanting for Hermione to figure out what smell it was. “I don’t really know. I’ll brush my teeth more after this…”
Hermione nodded, still unaware of what the smell was.
