Chapter 15: A Walk In The Park

Sora just looked at Rias with confusion at her earlier request. He anticipated that this would happen after Kiba invited him here, but he never thought she would just come out and say it.

"*She must be more desperate than I thought.*" He thought to himself. "*Good*" he mentally grinned ear to ear like a predator looking at a dumb animal.

She's desperate to get out of her engagement to the phoenix asshole and for that she has to beat him in a rating game. And with her current strength she'll never win so she's trying to build up her peerage as fast as she can. Figures she would try to recruit me now that Issei is no longer an option. 

"*Well there is only one possible answer I can give her.*" He thought all the while his face remained stoic and masking his intentions.

"No thank you." Sora responded to the surprised club members.

"May I ask why?" Rias asked, barely hiding her disappointment.

"Well frankly speaking I don't think there is much your club could offer me at the moment." He said calmly. "Plus I'm not really interested in the occult so joining a club about it doesn't really interest me." He said innocently.

"Oh but our club does so much more than that." Rias said "We do many different tasks and there is so much we could teach you." She said giving her best pitch.

"Really like what?" Sora asked feigning ignorance

"Like how this world's system really works and the mechanisms that work that regular people don't see. '' She said with a confident smile.

"Well that does sound interesting I'll grant you that." He said bringing his hand to his chin as if to ponder her request.

"All you have to do is join our club and we will answer all of your questions." She said a little too eagerly. "You are the perfect new member we have been waiting for." She said while the rest of her peerage nodded in agreement.

"I bet I am." Sora said, chuckling. " While I'm flattered you think so highly of me I'll still have to decline your invitation ." He said with a polite smile.

Rias frowned a bit and furrowed her brows at Sora's rejection.

"Is there anything I can do to make you change your mind?" She asked hopefully.

"At the moment no, but who knows what the future holds." He said standing up from the couch. "Like I said your proposal does sound interesting, let me think about it ok." He said, extending out his hand.

"OK, I'll retreat for now but I'll make it my mission that you join my club." She said with a confident smile while shaking his hand.

"That's the spirit." He responded with a light laugh. "Well if thats all Im gonna head home now." He said turning his back to the club members and leaving the room.

"*Excellent so far so good.*" He thought to himself with a crooked smile as he left the club building and headed home.

Rias POV

Rias was lounging back in her chair frustrated at the failed recruitment. The other members of her peerage circled around her desk ready to hear her thoughts.

"Ara Ara, ufufuf, so it was a complete miss." Akeno said giggling with her hand to her mouth.

"No I wouldn't say that, I think we found out a few things from this encounter." Rias said, sighing. "What do you guys think?"

"I'm not sure." Responded Kiba. "He definitely isn't a regular guy but I know what he is."

"Same, he is not a demon though he doesn't have the smell of a demon." Said Koneko, still eating her chocolate.

"Ara Ara well if nothing else he's really quite interesting." Said Akeno laughing "After all, when was the last time a boy told you no Rias?"

"Never" Rias pondered, trying to rack her brain over the mysteries surrounding the boy.

Too many things didn't add up to his sudden appearance, her lack of intel on him, him being able to avoid both Koneko and Akeno detection, and the feelings she got whenever she was in his presence. She agreed with Koneko he definitely wasn't a demon and as far as she could tell he wasn't an angel or fallen either.

"*Sora Raizel just what exactly are you and what are you hiding?*" She asked herself.

Not that she had given up on figuring it out. Her time was running out and her engagement date was coming closer and closer. She needed more members for her peerage and this boy was the perfect candidate. She would just have to find a different approach to get his help. 

"I want all of you to postpone your current tasks, and focus all of your energies on discovering anything you think will be useful in getting him to join us. Rias said to the rest of her peerage.

"Is he really that important to you?" Asked Kiba, who had never seen his master act like this before.

"Ara Ara, who knew you would be the aggressive type Rias." Said Akeno. "Then again he is quite handsome isn't he fufufufu." She said laughing.

"Yes Kiba, that boy might be the solution I have been waiting for." She said ignoring Akeno's jab. "We will do everything in our power to bring him into our fold." She said, giving them a command.

"Yes ma,am." The others responded in agreement.

The Next Day

Sora was walking down the sidewalk in a certain park when he spotted a young blond nun helping some children. His devilish smile returned as he approached the young nun to reintroduce himself.

"Asia?" He called out.

The young girl turned to face the sound of the voice.

"Sora?" She responded confused.

She was a very pretty girl with long blond hair and green eyes. Her hair flowed all the way down her back with split bangs over her forehead and one single strand sticking out from the top. She wore the same dark teal nun outfit with blue accents. She had a brown satchel at her waist and brown boots. Though her breasts weren't as impressive as Ria's or Akeno's she still had a nice figure with some supple c cups.

After reacquainting themselves they decided to spend the day together and go to multiple locations. First he took her out and treated her to some hamburgers that she never had before. Of course Sora couldn't eat it himself and excused it as a stomachache. Next he took her to an arcade where she was mesmerized by the games and lights.

She thanked him for showing her around and helping her have fun that she hadn't had in a long time. They settled in a bench in the park where they both sat and Asia explained her backstory to Sora. How she was abandoned at a church when she was a baby in Europe. Of how after her powers were discovered she was taken to a larger church and healed lots of people. Then when she helped a certain hurt devil she was banished and excommunicated by the same people she had helped.

Sora listened intently, nodding every so often. He already knew all of this of course but was acting like it was the first time hearing it. He comforted her and told her that she was special and that she doesn't need to suffer. He promised to protect her and would continue to watch over her emphasizing the bracelet he gave her when they first met.

"Remember if you're ever in trouble just hold that bracelet close to you and wish me to be by your side." He said to her, caressing her face gently. "I promise that I shall appear and I will protect you."

Asia seemed struck by his gentleness and kindness.

"But why would you go so far for me?" She asked, confused on the verge of tears. "I'm nothing special."

"You're right, you are beyond special Asia." He told her gently caressing her cheek. "You are precious and I will do whatever it takes to protect you." He said kindly.

"Thank you Sora I promise if I'm ever in trouble I will." She said, wiping her tears.

As they had a heartfelt embrace someone else came to break up the tender moment.

"Do I get a hug too?" Asked the annoying voice belonging to a person Sora couldn't stand.

They turned and saw a woman dressed in a short black dress with a light purple jacket on top. She had a slender body and a pretty large bust. She had long silky black hair down to her hips with violet eyes.

"*Raynare*" Sora thought to himself with a cold tone trying to hide his killing intent.

She approached them and He could feel Asia grow scared and frightened by the woman's sudden appearance. She slightly hid behind his back for protection while the whore crow approached.

"So who's this handsome young boy, huh Asia?" She asked, reaching out to touch Sora's face.

Sora stepped back before she could before introducing himself and giving out her full name. Raynare was obviously smitten with him at first glance and looked at him like a fresh cut of meat licking her lips. 

"Well sorry Sora Asia here has some chores to do at our church, maybe you can catch up some other time." She said as she grabbed Asia's wrist and attempted to drag her away.

Sora reached down and freed her from Raynare's grip, shocking both ladies.

"Asia if you don't want to go with her, you don't have to, you know." He ignored the scowl from the fallen angel.

Asia looked conflicted until Raynare leaned down and whispered some threats Sora was able to pick up with his superhuman hearing about her harming him if Asia didn't comply. In the end Asia agreed to go with her back to the church to protect Sora from her. Before she left she thanked him again for the fun day they had and said she'd treasure it forever.

Before Raynare could drag her off Sora reminded her of the bracelet and the promise he had made her and made her swear to call out to him if she ever needed him. She tearfully said she would and then Raynare dragged her off while sending a wink Sora's way.

The gesture made Sora want to vomit honestly and he turned to leave the park his emotions growing more and more volatile.

"*Ea get everything ready tonight we're going on a crow hunt.*" He said menacingly 

"*Yes master Sora.*" She Responded coldly.
