Sun Fang was speaking on the phone with Mo Cheng when he stepped off the ship, his butler—Ivy dutifully bringing up the rear behind him. The weather on Sequill was markedly different from Guillotine’s and so sunglasses were not required; Sun Fang was wearing them anyway. And it was the pair with sparkly gems on them, too.

There was a lull on Mo Cheng’s side of the conversation so Sun Fang interjected with a pompously serious tone, ”I have now officially arrived.”

Mo Cheng laughed softly and said, ”Congratulations, I’m sure the planet is all the better for it.”

”No doubt,” Sun Fang agreed snootily and picked up one of the carry-on bags while Ivy loaded the rest onto a cart.

As this was the main spaceport on the planet, it was truly gigantic. It rose ahead of them like a behemoth, many times bigger than the spaceship that they had flown in on. Or, more precisely, the luxurious shuttle that they had taken from the spaceship down to the spaceport, since the spaceship was nearly too big to land and it would be a huge waste of fuel to even bother with it. Instead, several significantly smaller shuttles took the passengers from the orbit down to the planet’s surface.

They walked across the asphalt, long shadows cast on the ground beside them. ”So, what did they name the dog?” Sun Fang asked, eager to get the conversation back on its tracks again.

”Noodle,” Mo Cheng said, his voice flat and emotionless. ”They named him Noodle.”

Sun Fang poorly hid his bark of laughter behind a cough. He grinned, stepping through the large entrance into the spaceport proper. ”Well, your sister has a most excellent taste, then,” he said.

Mo Cheng sighed loudly, the sound carrying over the receiver easily. Sun Fang grinned wider, his eyes sparkling behind the sunglasses he absolutely didn’t need to wear in this light. They made their way through the ’port quickly, Sun Fang more than familiar with it. He continued to speak with Mo Cheng for a while longer but eventually stopped when they reached the baggage-claim. He helped Ivy grab ahold of their bags and put them on the cart.

When they were done, the cart was so full that Sun Fang eyed it distrustfully. He wasn’t entirely certain that the whole pile wasn’t about to upend over the edge and force them to redo the whole thing. In hindsight, they probably should have put the bags the other way.

He was too lazy to redo it, though.

Seeing as Sun Fang had been disinherited, he no longer had access to his family’s cars on this planet, which meant that they took a taxi to Mianmian’s countryside manor. The manor was only about a ten minute car-ride outside the city but it was still surrounded by total silence, the hustle and bustle of the city only a distant memory.

His heartbeat quickened the further the car went. The warmth that spread through him at the thought that he would actually be meeting Mianmian face to face was completely out of his control, and he didn’t much care. It had been far too long since he’d seen the other omega, and he allowed his smile to have free reign over his face as they came closer to arriving.

They drove up the long driveway to the manor, boxed in by a row of carefully planted trees on both sides. The trees were blooming; it was the middle of autumn right now and the leaves were a beautiful red color as they prepared to fall. Sun Fang took a couple of photos to send Mo Cheng later.

It started raining just as the car slowed to a stop outside the main doors and Sun Fang climbed out of the taxi. He poked his sunglasses down over his nose and stared above them at the splatter of small raindrops that slowly fell onto the car’s roof. Glancing up at the sky, he quietly observed the dark clouds and clicked his tongue, shoving the sunglasses back up again.

The front door opened before he was even there. Sun Fang smiled at the butler that stood inside it and held the door open for him and Ivy. ”Hello,” he said and nodded at it as he passed by.

The door didn’t slam shut behind them, though that would have been much more satisfying. It shut quietly behind them instead, as the butler was properly doing its job.

Looking around the large open hall, Sun Fang pushed the sunglasses up onto his head. Soon, he could hear thundering footsteps coming ever closer and he relaxed, his shoulders loosening. He took a couple of quick steps to the bottom of the large staircase and looked up.

Mianmian shot out of the hallway and stopped at the top of the stairs. The omega was heaving for breath, his stomach not as large as a woman’s would be at this stage but still undeniably pregnant. After a beat, a gorgeous smile lit up his face and he said, ”A’Fang, you’re here!”

His heart fluttering painfully in his chest, Sun Fang ignored the prickling feeling in his eyes and hurried up the stairs, taking them two at a time. ”Mianmian!” He beamed brightly and as soon as he was close enough, swept the other man into a hug. Closing his eyes, he drank in Mianmian’s own unique scent and it felt like he was eighteen again.

”I’ve missed you,” Sun Fang whispered against the man’s shoulder. He felt Mianmian shudder against him, felt warm hands settle on his back and squeeze tightly.

”I’ve missed you, too,” Mianmian said, his voice nearly unbearably soft. ”Come,” Mianmian said and pulled back slightly, just enough so they could see each other’s eyes. He smiled softly and said, ”You must tell me everything.”

”Of course,” Sun Fang said and smiled back. He cleared his throat slightly and forced back the tingling in his eyes. Mianmian laughed softly and his chest squeezed harshly, the sensation a well-known friend at this point. Mianmian pulled on his hand as he led Sun Fang further into the house and Sun Fang, helpless, followed.
