They ate breakfast at almost eleven in the morning, the sun having risen long before they woke up. Sun Fang had yawned the entire was as he walked down the long hallway (most of the hallways in this building were excessively long) to the dining hall.
”Thank you,” Sun Fang nodded to the servant that placed his food on the table in front of him. He picked up the glass of milk and sipped at it. A moment later, Mianmian dropped down onto the seat beside him.
”Morning,” Mianmian yawned, tears at the edges of his eyes.
Sun Fang smiled, ”Good morning, I hope you’ve slept well.” He looked over the other omega as he said that, checking to see if there was anything obviously wrong with him. But no. He even smelled like he was in a good mood. His smile growing, Sun Fang returned to his own breakfast and continued eating.
The surgery was tomorrow.
Mianmian would be leaving for the hospital tonight so that he’d have plenty of time to settle in and get comfortable. Before that though, they would be spending the day by the pool and relaxing in the warm waters. This manor even had its own indoor pool, so there was no need to dress up to go somewhere else.
When they were done, Sun Fang rose first and approached Mianmian, holding out his hand and giving a suggestive eyebrow raise. Mianmian laughed but gripped his hand and Sun Fang pulled the man up from the chair.
”To the pool?” Sun Fang asked, his heart dancing with excitement as they left the dining hall. He shot a quick glance over his shoulder as he went, frowning when he couldn’t see Ivy anywhere. He turned his head forward again without saying anything.
Mianmian nodded and glanced around, clearly searching for what it was Sun Fang had looked for. ”Something wrong?” he asked.
”No, just—” Sun Fang grinned, ”Have I told you that my butler has a name now? It picked it itself!”
”Nice,” Mianmian said. ”What it is?”
”Ivy,” Sun Fang preened, obnoxiously happy to be able to share these news. He straightened his back.
Mianmian said, ”That’s a great name,” and it didn’t sound like he was lying. Well, obviously he wasn’t. It was an awesome name that Ivy had chosen all by itself. Quite frankly, it was a name superior to all others—except for what Mianmian would name his child.
The pool was already set up when they arrived. Sun Fang let go of Mianmian and walked up to the edge, staring down at the blue depths. The entire room smelt like chlorine, the cloying scent overpowering all others. He stayed there for a moment, just staring, before he turned around and headed toward the corner where there were sheets hanging from the ceiling to change clothes behind for those with modesty.

Sun Fang was not one of those people.
Somebody had already placed his swimming trunks in there. He didn’t bother with the flowing red sheets as he pulled his clothes off, pulling the trunks on easily.
Sun Fang changed quickly, stepping out with a fluffy bath-towel in his grip. He strode over the tiled floor to the edge of the pool with the ladder down, and placed the towel next to the edge. Then he checked to make certain that he wasn’t on the shallow end of the pool. Glancing back at Mianmian who was hidden by a sheet of his own, Sun Fang jumped into the pool.
A splash followed in his wake. He rose from the bottom quickly and dragged in a huge breath as soon as he breached the surface. Rubbing his hands over his eyes, he grimaced at the stinging in them.
Mianmian walked down the stairs on the pool’s shallow end. Sun Fang floated over on his back, smoothly shifting to stand on his feet when he was beside the other omega. ”Hi,” he said, beaming.
Mianmian grinned back at him, practically glowing. ”Hello,” he drawled, playing along with Sun Fang’s games. ”Come here often?” he asked, giving a suggestive wink.
”Not as often as I should, with a pretty thing like you here,” Sun Fang made an excessively sad face, frowning as though in pain. He swooned, falling on his back and floating on the water again. He schooled his features again and continued, ”Ah, it hurts my soul to know I’ve missed something as gorgeous as you – the pain! You can’t imagine the agony!”
Mianmian didn’t bother to muffle his laughter, the sound echoing throughout the large room with its high ceiling. Sun Fang scowled, his eyes glittering, ”Don’t laugh at me, darkish fiend! For I shall have my revenge… some day!”
”Revenge is of no use,” Mianmian said, snickering every other word. ”You can’t beat your own nature; you shall always lose to prettiness!”
Sun Fang snorted, before laughter left him shaking. He held a hand over his mouth, forced to stand back on his feet before he drowned, as he laughed. His body shook, mirth making his eyes shine. ”Mianmian,” he rasped out amongst his giggles, ”don’t be so mean to my heart.”
Mianmian patted him on his back mock seriously. When Sun Fang was finally able to contain his laughter and no longer felt like he would swallow a while liter of water if he tried to swim, got back to floating on his back. Mianmian joined him, and together they floated around the whole pool for a solid twenty minutes.
Sun Fang spent another half-hour or so doing laps, the stretch to his muscles oddly soothing. He supposed he had been spending a lot of time swimming lately, certainly far more than he ever har doing such a short period of time before. Perhaps his body was getting used to it.
Regardless, the laps were a mind-numbing exercise that helped him relax, his mind flowing freely like the water around him. By the time they left the pool, Sun Fang’s mind was much clearer and his body much more wrinkly.
