Ivy didn't stay mad at him for long. In the first place, annoyance with Sun Fang was a skill that Ivy had trained to acquire and not something that happened to it naturally. It mostly used it as an expression to announce its dissatisfaction without outright stating it. Normally, it was a rare thing for Sun Fang to make a mistake that would make Ivy avoid him for a good three days. But Ivy really did love its regular excursions to the farmers' markets and the treasures it found there so when Sun Fang was too busy playing his video game to fawn over its finds...
Well, he was ignored until he offered to go the farmers' market with Ivy.
So now here they were.
At a market at the edge of the city, where the people were plenty and dressed in more earth-toned colors. Tanned from working outdoors, even below special-grade UV protection glass, the farmers that were present were all happy and loud people. They recognized Ivy as soon as they saw it, waving cheerfully their way.
Sun Fang was pleased to note that not only did Ivy wave back, it also stopped several times to talk to people. It was clear to see that it was friendly with these people, hell, maybe they were friends. This wasn't a side of Ivy that he got to see often, because Ivy was very professional and good at its job. Sun Fang enjoyed it, taking pictures when Ivy wasn't looking. He was going to send these to Mianmian and Deng Xi, brag about it properly.
Ahhh, now there was a child hanging onto Ivy's leg, beaming up at it! Sun Fang's heart wasn't going to survive this! Fanning himself, he swooned against the stall he was standing by and ignored the amused looks he was getting from the stall owner. Ivy with a small child was dangerous, okay, it was akin to a weapon of mass destruction.
Sun Fang wasn't the only one looking at the picture they made and cooing! There were others, too! Even the stall owner that was so amused at his expense couldn't help smiling when looking at Ivy. The way Ivy was diligently listening to the toddler's babbling was adorable, and Sun Fang was fervently grateful for his past self for agreeing to do this. To think he could have missed such a sight... it would have been a crime.
"Ivy work for you?" the stall owner asked, nodding at Ivy.
Sun Fang beamed. "Ivy is my butler," he said, cocking his hip against the stall's table and turning toward the owner. The stall was filled with baskets of some kind of fruit that Sun Fang didn't recognize. His eyes drifted over them, taking in the earthy, brown color. He asked, "These native to Guillotine?"
"You have a good eye, Young Master," the owner confirmed. The beta picked up one of the long, oval-shaped things and held it out to him. "Smell it," he said, almost smirking.
Sun Fang's eyes narrowed in suspicion, but he took the thing and held it up to his nose. And immediately gagged, "Holy shit, that's awful," he swore, dropping the fruit. The owner must have anticipated that, because he caught it seamlessly, sniggering. "Why would you do that to me?" Sun Fang whined, shoving away the hand carrying the cursed object when it tried to approach him again.
"Sorry, sorry," the owner put the fruit thing back down and waved a hand, grinning. "It's just always so hilarious, the way people react, I can't help myself."

"Ah, do this a lot, I take it?" Sun Fang asked, crossing his arms over his chest and giving the man a faux serious look, complete with the furrowing eyebrows and the nasty glare. His lips kept twitching though, undermining his attempt at portraying disapproval.
The man laughed. "Here and there, yeah," he said, grinning widely. Sun Fang finally lost the fifth against his own humor and burst out laughing, snorting a little from the force of it. It wasn't a very attractive laugh, nothing at all like the dignified laugh all Sun Family members should so as to not embarrass themselves. Sun Fang didn't mind this; it was a thing that set him apart from the Sun Family. And he very much wanted to be apart from them.
His eyes narrowing, he glanced over his shoulder. Ivy was still in the middle of a conversation. Humming, he asked the owner, "Do Ivy like these?"
"Not particularly. It buys it sometimes, but I think it's for a very specific recipe. Most of the time, it doesn't get any," the owner said, black eyes lighting up. "Why, you want any?"
"Get me four of them," Sun Fang said, for absolutely no reason at all.
The man started. "Seriously?" he asked, voice doubtful. Then he said, "Never-mind," and, then muttered, "I'm not supposed to make the customer doubt their purchase," below their breath. Sun Fang still heard it though. He muffled his laughter behind his hand and just patiently watched as the man put the four disgusting smelling fruits into a cloth-bag. It didn't take long, and Sun Fang paid with digitally with his wrist-bracelet.
His nose scrunched up when took the bag from the seller. He tied the top closed to contain the smell, but actually, it wasn't really that bad... after all, he couldn't smell much from the horde of fruits laying on the table. He sniffed discreetly, but he really couldn't. Then it was probably only an issue when one got close enough.
Good enough, in his opinion. "Thank you," he said, politely like a good-mannered person. The man grinned at him, ducking his head a little like he was embarrassed, and Sun Fang's mood just lifted further.
Ivy had begun to move on though, and Sun Fang didn't want to be left behind. He waved jauntily at the seller, grinning at the beta before he left, the sweet smile he got in response certainly sweet enough to lift all his troubles off him.
