Sun Fang returned to the bar the next evening, this time bringing Ivy with him for company. Ivy, who had been brought to lots of places by Sun Fang didn’t react to the splendor being shown. It seemed like the people here were even prettier tonight, and most of them were dressed up for fancy parties. Sun Fang approved—he, too, was dressed up extra pretty tonight.

Granted, he had an ulterior motive.

It took him almost fifteen minutes to spot Hua Xingyi but when he did, he promptly slapped Ivy’s arm (multiple times) and whispered, ”See him?”

”Yes, that is the person whom you showed me sixty-eight pictures of last night,” Ivy responded dispassionately. Sun Fang rolled his eyes and was just about to scoff when Ivy continued, ”Do you wish to date him?”

Sun Fang’s head turned to stare right at Ivy. He blinked rapidly. Opened and closed his mouth like some uncouth caveman. Finally, he said, ”I haven’t thought that far ahead. I don’t even know him.”

”You didn’t know Mo Cheng,” Ivy very reasonably pointed out.

Sun Fang leaned against the backrest and crossed his arms over his chest, pouting a little. ”I know,” he muttered. His eyes found Hua Xingyi’s figure again, the boy in the middle of carrying around fifteen tall wineglasses on a carefully balanced tray. He was making his way through the crowd of people and tables, twisting just on the edge of gracelessly as he went. Still, his focused eyes and scent was almost captivating on its own.

Clearing his throat, Sun Fang said, ”I know,” again.

Ivy smiled at him. ”I just wanted to make sure,” it said, and Sun Fang’s heart fluttered a little. Wanted, Ivy said he wanted something!

Once Hua Xingyi had finished his delivery, Sun Fang stood up and waved cheerfully at the man. The other omega looked at him with utterly uncomprehending eyes for a moment, before he visibly remembered and gave a tight smile. Turning to the waiter by his side, he said something and then walked over to Sun Fang’s table. Sun Fang sat down again, leaning against Ivy and slapping its leg as Hua Xingyi got closer.

”Hello, sir. Can I get you anything?” Hua Xingyi asked, whipping out a digital notepad at the speed of light.

Sun Fang said, ”A bag of chips. And if you don’t mind, I could buy you something for your break if you’d let me keep me company for a bit?”

Hua Xingyi frowned at him, clicking his tongue softly. Shaking his head slightly, he finally said, ”I go on break in about an hour, so if you’re still here, sure. You can buy me some chips and soda,” softly, he then muttered, ”I could certainly use the extra energy.”

Sun Fang was about to ask about it when Hua Xingyi then stalked away, brows furrowed as he evidently spotted something on the other side of the bar that he didn’t like. Despite being of average height, when he walked with such large steps and with his head high in anger, he seemed a great deal bigger.

Sighing, Sun Fang let go of Ivy’s leg. He asked, ”You’ll stay?”

”Of course,” Ivy said. Sun Fang smiled at it, pushing a hand through his hair and twisting a short lock around his finger. After a moment, he picked up his phone and clicked through the different apps til he got to the messages. There, he pulled up his conversation with Mo Cheng, reading over the latest message Mo Cheng had sent with a critical eye. Well, it was just a comment about how Mo Cheng’s nieces had wrecked havoc on the café. Still.

Giving Mo Cheng his heartfelt condolences for the chaos his café had undoubtedly descended into—it was likely enemy territory for a bit there—Sun Fang then proceeded to launch into a description of what he’d done today. That was, he described how nice the beach was, since that was basically all he’d done.

Once he’d sent the message, he moved over to social medias.

The next time he looked up, Hua Xingyi was sitting down across from them.

Sun Fang tilted his head to the side, finally glanced at the clock on his phone, and then grinned sheepishly. ”I lost track of time,” he said, putting down his phone and locking it, turning it upside down so he couldn’t see the the screen.

Hua Xingyi had one opened and three unopened mini-bags of chips and a glass of sparkling orange soda in front of him; when he caught sight of Sun Fang looking, he quickly swallowed his food and said, ”I put it on your tab.” Then he drank a large gulp of soda and smacked his lips, eyes curving gently in pleasure.

He quickly popped in another chip. Sun Fang raised a hand to cover his mouth, smiling as he said, ”That’s fine. And I’m sorry for bothering you on your break.”

Hua Xingyi shook his head, ”It’s fine,” he said and continued to eat, utterly shameless. Sun Fang coughed on a laugh and grinned, senselessly pleased. He nudged Ivy’s shoulder and nodded at Hua Xingyi. Ivy looked, then looked at Sun Fang and rose an eyebrow. Sun Fang rolled his eyes theatrically, puffing out his cheeks. Ivy’s eyes froze on his fluffy cheeks and then, before Sun Fang could react, Ivy poked his cheek!

What a rascal!

Sun Fang promptly poked Ivy’s cheek in revenge. Then, because it wasn’t good enough, he poked Ivy’s other cheek as well. Take that, Sun Fang viciously thought, single-minded in his need for vengeance. It was the sound of a soft laugh that pierced through his viciousness, and he turned his head to glance at Hua Xingyi.

The omega was looking at them, sipping from his soda’s straw, and smiling. His pink eyes were glittering in the bar’s low light, the sparks almost shooting Sun Fang. Seeing Sun Fang staring at him, Hua Xingyi simply giggled and waved. Sun Fang had the irrational urge to hide.
