Eventually, they settled on a house next to the ocean. It was just above a beach, the view in the pictures and video uploaded on the site gorgeous. Ivy stared at that view for a long moment, and Sun Fang had just about made up his mind from that alone. Then he saw the three-story building and the pictures of the house’s interior.

Honestly, he kind of fell in love.

”Do you like it?” he asked Ivy, on the edge of his seat. His gaze moved from the screen to Ivy and back again, and then he looked around at what he could see of the study room. Comparing it to the house in the pictures, he suddenly found that he wasn’t very satisfied with this place at all.

”Yes,” Ivy answered. It glanced at him, the thick eyebrows slowly furrowing in a struttingly human expression. ”Do you, Fang’er?”

Sun Fang grinned brightly, warmth burrowing through his bones. ”I love it,” he swore, putting his head on his hand. He looked back at the screen; eyed the lush green garden that surrounded the house, the tree-line not far off and, of course, the beach below the house. The white house stood tall above it, a chimney sticking out of the top. It had a long veranda going around nearly the entire building, and a large balcony on the second floor. The roof on the top slanted slightly, covering the very top of the third floor. And at last, there was a long gravel road leading from the house into the distance.

Sun Fang’s eyes traced over the many, many images the seller had posted. He counted the rooms as he went, pleased to note that there was more than enough for all the guests he could imagine visiting. It was a very different place from the apartment sure, but… maybe that was a good thing.

Nudging his shoulder against Ivy’s, Sun Fang asked, ”If I placed a bid, would you be happy to live there?”

”I would,” said Ivy. It looked at the image of the ocean again, and its eyes lit up—Sun Fang grinned. He slumped back on the seat, releasing a soft breath. Then. Then it was a done deal.

They were moving.

To a whole different planet.

Laughing gently, Sun Fang rose and shook his hands, energy suddenly filling him. He pulled on Ivy, dragging it up after him by the hand. ”Come, come,” he muttered, smiling at Ivy over his shoulder. Ivy docilely followed, allowing Sun Fang to set the pace. Sun Fang’s eyes softened as they entered the living room, and he walked right up to the couch. Sitting down, he pouted up at Ivy: ”Cuddle with me, please?”

Ivy blinked at him. It sat down beside him, their hands still connected. ”I haven’t done the laundry, yet,” Ivy pointed out once it was securely sitting.

”Want to be a rebel and postpone it?” Sun Fang wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, enjoying the opportunity to corrupt his pure-hearted butler. Oh, Ivy was so helpful. So dutiful. So wonderful. But surely, pushing the boundaries to discover what was okay and what wasn’t was natural? After all, if one didn’t know where the boundaries laid, how could one ever truly feel safe?

Throwing out his thoughts, Sun Fang refocused on Ivy just in time to hear it say, ”It will not hurt to delay it a bit, no. And,” here, Ivy’s eyes stared right at him, the gaze scorching despite the inhumanity. Sun Fang’s breath caught in his throat, and Ivy continued, ”cuddles with you are very enjoyable.”

Sun Fang’s smile went softer, the edges less sharp. He looked down at their joint hands, squeezing Ivy’s gently. ”I like cuddling with you, too,” he said, clearing his throat to get the sudden wetness out of it. This was fine—Ivy being so candid about things like emotions was something that Sun Fang had been waiting a long time for. It was more than fine that Ivy was becoming comfortable with expressing its wants and desires.

Sun Fang just… his heart was just really warm right now, okay!

Clearing his throat, he shook his head a little and grabbed the remote. ”Let’s watch a movie and cuddle,” he announced, scooting back on his seat and making himself comfortable. He felt Ivy hum beside him, the sound rattling Ivy’s chest where most of the voice-processors were. Ivy then moved, turning so their frames didn’t clash.

Sun Fang suppressed his smile as he curled around Ivy, the movie he put on running through the starting motions. He exhaled deeply, tension leaving him as his eyelids slowly lowered and he began to doze off.

It was hours later that the movie ended and Sun Fang was brought out of his periodic dozing. Yawning, he raises a hand to cover his mouth. His eyes blinked rapidly, and the wetness at the corner of them annoyed him. As he rubbed his eyes, he began to untangle his limbs from Ivy. ”Sorry,” he muttered, rubbing the tip of his nose. ”Was I heavy?”

”No,” Ivy responded, standing up. He towered over Sun Fang for a moment, casting a long shadow over him. Through the window, Sun Fang saw a fading sun, and on the wall behind Ivy he saw a black screen. He yawned again.

”I’ll get to the laundry now,” Ivy said. It reached out and, before Sun Fang could react, ruffled his hair. Sun Fang’s head followed the motion for a moment before his neck started working, and he scowled. Ivy smiled at him, a stilted movement that nonetheless sent a spike of heat through Sun Fang’s chest, and added, ”It was a good cuddle.”

”Of course it was,” Sun Fang said. He stood as well with Ivy’s help, Ivy pulling him up effortlessly, and continued, ”I’m a world-class cuddler.” He smirked at Ivy, waiting for a reaction.

Ivy merely poked his nose and Sun Fang’s eyes widened. Raising a hand to feel his nose, he wandered out of the living room in a daze.
