In the end, no matter how much Clyde thinks he can only think of a single way and that is by killing all the three assassins with him inside the carriage
That is the only way for him to leave a trail without being caught. There is no other way. Even if there were carriages in the front and back, as long as Clyde deals with the ones with him, it would not be hard to be subtle and leave a trail
Fortunately, he can use blood. He can just have some blood slowly slid down from the gap in the carriage's door and unless the assassins were purposely looking, they would not notice the blood dripping down
However, the question now is how can Clyde possibly kill all three assassins? With how desperate he is, Clyde does not think that his morals would stop him from killing people
After all, back at the bar, because of the situation he was in, he was forced to kill people that wants to kill him to survive. The current Clyde is not the type of person to pity the people that wished him dead
However, the problem was that he was already no match against three professional assassins. What more if he has to kill them silently?
The only thing that Clyde can rely upon is the magic that he inherited from his family. The magic is quite powerful and can definitely kill people in one blow but the problem was that, the magic should hit the enemy
In such an enclosed space like this, it was easier to hit the assassins since they don't have much room to dodge but how to kill them fast and silent?
If Clyde were to kill the assassins, he must kill all of them at the same time without letting them utter even a single word. That is easier said than done but Clyde do not have much to think
The more that the carriage moves, the harder it would be to track him. As of right now, he judged that they are almost already out of the small town
If he leave no trail soon, it would not be easy for his allies to find him
As such, Clyde can only risk his life that is already in danger. He can use some more time to think by acting as if he was unconscious until he arrives at where these assassins wants to keep him but without a trail, it was almost impossible to find him
Ryden might be a wargod but he is not omnipotent. His tracking skills would be useless if he don't have even a little bit of clue
Deciding on it, Clyde started coughing but making sure that he was only loud enough so that it was only the three assassins that would hear him
Clyde utilizes the blood in his mouth as they fell down his lip and chin. With him suddenly vomiting blood, it would make people think that he was poisoned
Since the assassins captured him instead of killing him right on the spot, they must want something from him or maybe the sender of these assassins would want to torture him first
Since that seems to be the case, Clyde is risking it as his plans would all be for naught if the assassins don't care whether he live or not
Fortunately, it seems like luck is in his side this time as his hypothesis was correct. The assassins do not want him to die or more like they cannot let him die
A normal human reaction at this type of scenario was to immediately went on Clyde' side to check upon him and that is what the assassins did
They even bumped on each other a bit due to how faast they were moving to make sure that Clyde will not die prematurely
This normal and expected human reaction has become the assassins' demise as as soon as Clyde felt the assassins nearing him, he quickly opened his eyes and spat the remaining mixture of blood and saliva in his mouth on all three of them
Clyde's galmble worked and he has already proven that the assassins cannot let him die. As such, another expected human reaction was to use one's arm to prevent the blood from entering their eyes
The assassins merely tried to block Clyde's useless attack and not kill him directly as soon as they saw him awake
As a result, Clyde was given time to use his magic and three vines instantly grew and shot out from the floor
Clyde targeted the assassin's throats since it was no use if he killed them but let them make noise
Luck was really in his side this time as even proffessional assassins could also be surprise. Not to mention, Clyde being able to use his family's magic to an above average extent is not really known by the assassins
They thought that Clyde was just making a futile attempt to escape, not knowing that he is enacting his plan to kill them
With the vines piercing through the assassins' throats, they all died at the same time and only then did Clyde breath properly
Everything might look easy and went according to his plans but only when being in the same situation that he is in would people realize how nervewrecking it was
His life was literaly in the line and even a single mistake would lead into his death and Clyde do not want to die for the third time! If he will die, he wants his death to be a natural one, a death that came from old age!
As much as Clyde wants to calm himself and his shaking body, he do not have time for that. The carriage is already outside the town and he hastily dripped some blood
Only then did Clyde calmed down a bit but even though he succeeded in his plans, this is still not the end. He can jump down from the carriage but tha would be foolish
He cannot outrun the assassins. Not to mention, the assassins most likely wants to capture him alive but they might rather kill him than let him escape
Clyde do not know if he can have a 4th chance at life and he has to treat his current life as the only life that he has
In the end, Clyde can only continue leaving a trail in hopes that Ryden would be able to find him
-----
When Ryden as done buying all sorts of food, he decided to head back to the inn they had rented. He cannot wait to let his wife taste the local cuisine
However, before he can see it, Ryden's heart instantly sped up as soon as he saw the unconscious Eriz outside of the room he left Clyde on
Extreme fear and anxiety swelled up in Ryden's heart and he immediately kicked the door open to see the situation inside
Ryden saw the room devoid of anyone with the window still open
There doesn't seem to be that much sign of resistance but Ryden is sure that Clyde would not suddenly vanish with his maid being unconscious
The thing that Ryden is afraid to happen still happened. Clyde was abducted and he don't have a way to find him!
Even if Ryden has a way, he is in too much of a panic to think of anything. His brain was malfunctioning due to fear and the only thing he can do was to panic, panic, and panic
Ryden's whole world fell apart when he notices a piece of paper in the bed and he hurriedly took it to read the content
"If you don't want your wife to die, come back to the Capital as soon as possible and kill yourseld in public" Ryden read and his kneels fell into the ground
Clyde was indeed abducted and if he don't kill himself, his wife would die
Despair... Ryden despaired. Just as he thought that he can lead a happy life with someone, the world hurt him again
The question now was is Ryden willing to die for Clyde?
They might have a deep relationship but they don't really romantically love each other, right?
Besides, the situation is different now. In the past, Ryden died all because he was plottwd against without him knowing
The only reason why he stayed in the Empire was because of the great planner Clyde if not, he might have fled and lived as a fugitive in another Kingdom
But since Clyde is there that can help him live a peaceful life rather than that of a fugitive, he stayed
But if Clyde is gone, Ryden would lose a planner and a schemer. Most people at his situation would decide to just flee or try to save Clyde first and if it did not succeed, he can only say sorry and flee
However, the more Ryden thinks about fleeing, the more it left a bad taste in his mouth and he also realizes something
