"Follow me Mielle."
Once we reached outside I questioned her filled with curiosity, trying to map everything in my head.
"Where are your farming fields located?"
"Left from here princess, why?" The woman looked at me surprised, but in return, I stared back confused as I expected a more detailed explanation.
"Left... how many fairies are we if we were to count the entire number living in the forest?"
"The queen believes to be 3 thousand," the maid added to the conversation in a bowing position as she didn't want to interrupt the chat.
"Do we have enough sources of food for everyone Anita?"
Realizing there was a lot of information that I had yet to know, the servant looked down thinking about the best way to explain, making a pause of a few seconds. Once her thoughts were sorted the light blue lips started moving.
"We fairies also absorb the mana in the air after some age thanks to that we don't quite starve... but if we were to be in a zone where mana isn't abundant we'd die."
"So... depending on the place the food we eat isn't a necessity after some time?" I voiced my conclusion out loud interested in this new piece of information, forming quite a grin.
"It still is as our body works better with it, we just rely on mana when the food is scarce like in winter, though when we get around 100 years we manage to live solely on mana, it does take a long time to get there though. And there are some energies that are only recovered through normal food." The old man Lumby clarified with a smile increasing the wrinkles on his face, filled with enthusiasm about being able to teach this young lady.
'This is very good since we're part of the spirit race it is a very good advantage.' I looked at the sky pleased, allowing my thoughts to drown in the fluffy white clouds of a beautiful day.
'In times of war or necessity, we'll most likely never starve. We might even be able to apply lasting tactics to force them to surrender as they run out of resources.'
'I'll have them improve our stocks, so that we can increase the numbers of fairies that can live in this place, in order to be able to feed more newborns.'
My arms extended to the sides as if englobing something within the free space between them.
"I want to talk with all the farming chiefs, make them come here tomorrow after lunch around two in the afternoon."
"Two in the afternoon?" They asked confused as such a piece of information was not part of their culture.
"You guys don't know what a clock is?" I tilted my head once more filled with despair at how behind they were in technology and science, further suspecting possible issues in terms of coordination with one another.
"We're truly sorry!" The few fairies that were gathered shouted without wanting to be reprimanded.
And then Anita declared as the silence became awkward between the present figures. "We only use morning, afternoon, and night. There are no numbers in our times, nor know about this thing called clock, princess Flamerah."
"Call everyone inside, immediately."
Once everyone was outside and all set, I grabbed a stick and drew a circle on the ground, placing numbers from 1 to 12 through the circle, and piercing the stick in the middle.
'If the overseer didn't screw us to the infinite, at least this little trick should still work even here.'
I looked at one of five suns, to be exact, the one that felt closest and brighter, gazing onwards to the shadow that was produced in correlation to the item in her hand.
'If this is correct it should be 2 in the afternoon. It's possible it could be off by a bit, show me the clock.'
Clock:
1:42:36 PM

"Phew, I'm glad sundials work here despite the number of suns. Everyone listen up!"
I stretched my body up and then with a smile on my face I started explaining things.
"What I'll teach you today, I want it to be spread among the forest to everyone."
I spent a while teaching them about the hours eventually receiving the materials necessary to craft the shield.
Once I'm done I headed back inside and halfway inside the basement I turned my torso around, looking over my shoulder at Anita.
"Don't forget all the farming chiefs tomorrow as close as possible to 2 in the afternoon in case it gets cloudy they should arrive right after morning goes by."
I reached the furnace to craft the shield using the leftover energies I possessed. Once I finished, I allowed my body to relax. At my tired sight, Anita grabbed the chance to give me a massage on my shoulders as I waited for the result.
"It sure is troublesome to have so many unknown people around me all the time," I let out a sigh looking at their faces memorizing them for now.
"That's normal, princess. You're the future of the forest the one that will guide all of us towards a new path," the maid smiled as she finished her words proudly, massaging me a little too tight from her own excitement.
I looked up at her as my hair rested on my shoulders, noticing her cute bright smile, "you really believe that?"
"Of course! I'm your maid after all!" She said resolutely, eyes filled with the utmost determination.
I laughed, looking at her, and then gave way to a question.
"Do you think my short indigo hair suits me? You don't need to lie I seek honesty."
"I see nothing wrong with it, but I'd need to see you with long hair to know which one would fit you the best."
"You forgot the princess part. Not that I mind about it, but thanks for the honesty."
I got up automatically and removed the shield from the furnace, placing it on the anvil, striking it thrice outside the mold.
The maid gulped upon hearing that remark despite being relieved from having the princess's gratitude.
"This one took an extra smack than the rest. It has quite the square shape."
My golden starry eye evaluated it.
"Shield (F) +15 defense, -2 Agility, Durability 250/250."
"I supposed it turned out a tough one."
An idea crossed my mind, 'Store all the weapons in inventory, and then open it. Do include the rankings of my items from here onwards."
