Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Ruhms

POV: Lilith

A Great day indeed.

A voice interrupted my peace but I was not angry nor irritated as I recognize who it is.

“Your majesty, I’m told you require my presence along with my work tablet” I turn around and find Ismael, a smile etched on my face “its been a while since we’ve talked like old friends”

“We’ve seeing each other three months ago, but you’re right we haven’t had a time like we used to before you took over” Ismael replied.

“Well, it is what it is. I’m sure you understand, my hands are full, especially now that we have magic on our hands” I said.

“Yes. Quite literally on our hands”

“So, how is the little bean?” my smile turned into a full blown smirk, its been a while since I’ve seen the little child.

“Emma? She’s fine except for every time she sees you in tv, she bursts in excitement and asks when she’ll be seeing you again”

“She might just see me tomorrow” I murmur, thinking I should give a speech with the changes that took place. “how old is she this year?” I asked.

“She’ll soon be ten in a four months”

“Anyways, about the tablet?” I asked, time to cut to the chase.

“Yes, here is it” Ismael said as he pulled a thick tablet from its case.

“So what impossible thing you want me to build this time”

“Well, its not impossible if you are known as an infrastructure madman!” I said, I turned on the tablet, took out its pen and started drawing.

“Ohh, thats going to be hard to do, its going to take a week to make sure its perfect and I’m going to need the big machines for this.”

“You can use whatever you want to make sure its a match” I inject my magic into the pen as i let the magic fill the diagram with its symbols and text. “But this is really important, you need to finish it as soon as you can and I’ll give you a month to do so.”

“And where exactly do you want me to build this..”

“Temple” I cut in “About 1.5 kilometers from the light tower up north, don’t worry I’ll tell the war guild to send a squad of high level soldiers as protectors and I’ll pass by sometimes to see progress.”

I finish the diagram and move to what I want built on top of it.

When I finish I hand it to Ismael, my smirk gone, my face dead serious. “And there cannot be any tiny mistakes.”

He gulps and nods. “Yes, your majesty”

POV: NONE

The day continues on, Lilith back on her desk as she looks over paperwork and generally does her work as the supreme leader, the empress.

While beyond her walls, the capital is half empty as some go visit the church while others stay in their homes, and those with work do their job.

The war guild collaborates with the science guild as they hunt monsters increasing their power level, while the science guild work to discovered how magic works in order to produce magical technology that will benefit the empire.

Overall things in the empire are peaceful, but thats only a cover as there are some rats who think ahead and do some crazy things, some are taken care of while others find ways to disappear.

For the world, nothing is peaceful. With magic around the corner now, what was once a cute animal became a predator that tricks you to pet it, only to bite off your hand, its the Survival of the fittest, the law of jungle which now reigns supreme.

This not only goes for the fauna, but also flora.

In the Overworld, you must know there are trees that have average height which you would find everywhere on modern earth, but there are ones that are so gigantic that you could compare a human to an ant, the only thing thats the same as modern earth are the wildlife, in other words ‘fauna’ but now with magic things change.

East of the capital, there is what one would come close to a desert, there is a dry dead forest, its trees are small, about the height of an average human but their roots could move and slither around the area as if they are alive, an animal comes around and next thing you know its impaled by a tree root.

This dead forest was discovered when the empire settled in, a drone was lost and a squad was sent to investigate only for two souls to survive the nightmare they described, from then on it was named the dark forest, a fitting name that not only describes the evil looking trees that inhabit the place but also at night a fog descends on it making it hard for anyone stuck to see which direction the next attack would come from.

What I’m saying is that flora can be monsters too.

Time passed.

A new morning arrived.

People had their breakfast and went to their jobs.

The radio and tv station announced to the people to attend the ‘Allee des Ruhms’.

When the time came, you could see although in its name says ‘Allee des Ruhms’, its not really an alley as much as its a main city square, except this large place is private, gets cleaned daily but only used when Lilith is going to say something to the public.

People begin arriving, and only a few hours later the place was full, you could hear them talk between themselves, the place was noisy.

The Empire.

Year 85, about 2 days after Overworld system awakening.

Allee des Ruhms.

A whistling sound was heard and everyone welcomed a silence and only that whistling through the air sound was being heard, soon a boom came as at the platform Lilith arrived in a heroic landing, dust was lifted up, soon she came from it and stood in front of everyone.

Lilith looked at the crowds standing in order, she extended her right arm from the shoulder into the air with a straightened hand and everyone else follows doing the same.

 

They stay like that for forty seconds before Lilith put her hand down, making everyone follow and do the same.

She moved forward to the microphone.

She looked at everyone at a condescending way, her expression calm.

“National Comrades”

“You have gathered here today to welcome new changes, that will benefit The Empire!”

*silence*

“As you have seen the past two days that magic does exists in this world, it only needed a chosen in order to awaken. I am to inform you, that I was the one chosen to lead the evolution and expansion of the realm.”

“I don’t have much to tell you, but what I am here for is to announce that somethings will change around here.”

“And these changes will require you to be brave and stand up as the upcoming storms will make you stronger!”

“There will be a new guild added and new changes to the laws applied to deal with the presence of magic and strengthen The Empire!”

*silence*

“And let me give you a warning, to any who oppose us from without or within!”

“The Empire cannot be deceived and can never be destroyed!“

The people, elders, adults, children all extended their right arm from the shoulder into the air with a straightened hand and chanted loudly.

“Heil Lilith!”

“Heil Lilith!”

“Heil Lilith!”

“Heil Lilith!”

“Heil Lilith!”

“Heil Lilith!”

“Heil Lilith!”

Lilith put her hand up in signaling a stop.

“Now, Obersturmführer Emilia Evrnid shall address the changes like always.”

Lilith saluted, then bent her knees launching herself into the sky.

*Bang*

Many other booms were heard as Lilith broke the sound barrier many times over. the one that was called out, a brunette middle aged woman in black uniform with a red arm band on the left arm, took the stage. “Now let us start with the changes In laws that will affect…”

As Emilia Evrnid addresses the public, Lilith was flying towards where the temple was going to be build, yesterday the land was prepared and today the magic diagram construction will start, these workers did not go to Allee des Ruhms as their current work is placed as a priority.

Lilith flew above the cloud, sometimes a bird would try to attack her only to get lasered off the sky and fall to the jungle below to be eaten by another wild beast.

Such is the way of the Overworld now.

A beautiful yet dangerous world.

(AN: had to think about making a speech that fits the personality of Lilith, one also full with emotion, i think? i took from some places but overall, i think i did good. tell me what you think in the comments.
