Wendy was severely punished by Mike because she had bullied Scarlett.

After returning home from the detention center, she immediately sent the photo of Scarlett hugging Richard to various press.

Wendy wanted to retaliate against Scarlett by ruining Scarlett's reputation and making Mike completely abandon Scarlett.
