Alenor shakily lifted her right hand, left being the one with the arrow, and took the Bead. it was warm and on her hand felt like something was slithering. But the glow dimmed down, as if a saddened puppy when their master abandoned them. Celine stood up, and whispered something. Mana gathered around her, specks of red and white, circling around her. Celine’s ring shone and specks ran towards it. Condensing into her hand, as she opened her eyes, they were glowing, white. And released a sparkling white breath like a winter morning. To Alenor, she looked holy. She put the bead into her mouth, a warmness in her mouth and slowly spread through her body. Her muscles relaxed, all the irritation from sleepless nights was leaving. She felt sleepy. Wrapped in warmness she could finally rest. Then all feeling vanished leaving a sour taste in her mouth. She shook her head. Trying to forget that warth she just felt.
Celine looked so kind, her presence was warm, unlike Nobles who always excluded coldness. Slowly white swallowed all red specks, Celine’s hands were glowing white. She brought them toward Alenor’s shoulder. Pain in her shoulder grew, like something was pulling it. Celine grabbed her the arrow. Burning heat, like a hot iron impaled through her shoulder.
FZZ.. FZZ..
It burned her skin. Alenor cried out in pain, her vision turning black, ears ranging. She clenched her teeth. Two white chains of words and symbols circled around the arrow. Celine continued to whisper intelligible words, ignoring Alenor’s cry. White Chains started to wrap around the arrow. Arrow fizzled, Like water sprayed on Hot iron, as the chains wrapped. Pain subsided, burning stopped. Chains completely wrapped and Arrow turned white, frozen.
Alenor’s eyes regained vision, Celine’s hand on her shoulder, she was crouched right in front of her, her eyes blue as the sky, filled with concern. Her lips moved, as she shook her slightly. Those words never reached Alenor, her ear still ringing.
Celine grabbed her from both sides, with a slight force she pushed both of them up.Alenor balanced herself. Ringing faded. She fell on her knees, as Celine let go. Celine moved again but Alenor gestured, she would stand up by herself.
“ Can you hear me?”
“Y-Yes, Ma'am….”
“How does your shoulder feel? Would you like to drink something? that bead's taste is not very nice.”
“It feels very… numb, but the pain has subsided. No, I'm alright.”
“If that makes you comfortable. Come inside, How rude of to stop you at door steps”
Alenor moved behind Celine, following her. Behind them, Pattern reverted back to their initial form, Doorway vanished. The wall was as it had been a few minutes before. Alenor looked around just to see there was no way out of this room. A dread filled her, She halted in her tracks.
“What happened?” Celine asked, a tinge of sadness in her voice. Alenor suppressed her emotions, ‘She is safe, she just healed me.’ she told herself.
“N-nothing”
“So, as far as I know, your leader is dead. Who gave the charge?” Celine said she stopped in front of a Window.
“ Gwyene, he is the big guy with broad sword and gray hairs. He took over after the death of the leader of our group on the first night. He is a bastard of some far novelty or royalty, I do not know of.”
“Yes, he did not feel like someone who would work under someone.”
“...”
“What charge did he give you, Alenor?”
Celine called her name with such kindness and with no loathe to it. Her gesture soothed Alenor’s inner turmoil. She wanted to apologize for the inconveniences she had caused but she knew Celine would not like those words. Instead, She should focus on her command. She unclasped the locket’s knot from her neck and presented it to her. With a bow. A hard ingrained manner.
“He gave me this locket and said this instrument would guard this place after their fall. It is-”
“An Arcane of Sanctuary”
“Yes.”
“Why did he not cast it on the First gate? If it works here, then it should work there too.’

“Forgive me, Miss Celine. I did not think of it.” Alenor hoped her words conveyed her sincerity. That she would never try to trick her. Celine mused, likely having doubts about this situation. Alenor did not think of that possibility. Why did she not think of such a possibility? Did Gwyene have an escape route so he wanted only other functioning members to leave?
‘Then, why give away such a valuable item, was it fake?’
But Celine seemed to know a great deal about Arcane Arts, and she did not indicate as such. What else could she say now?
“Do not fret over minor details, with that accursed instrument in your body, it is a miracle you are able to walk. I understand if you were not in condition to ask questions. And since you have entered The Strayer’s Guide, you have earned my absolute trust. So relax, I will not accuse you.” Celine stated with a phony smile. Alenor could tell. “I presume that the instrument is bound by conditions that cannot be fulfilled on the First gate. Let me inspect it for a moments”
Alenor handed the locket to Celine. Celine whispered something and Locket glowed before returning to normal. Alenor hoped there was nothing concerning about it. She was supposed to die on the front line, not play with lockets.
“ It’s not been altered, and Red cryl cannot hold anything other than a sanctuary spell so it should be safe, unless we cannot leave the Sanctuary which would just be a prison anyhow. Do you know it’s NAME”
“Ichor’s sanctuary”
“Hm… “
Celine mused and looked up, at the ceiling, Alenor followed her. An unimaginable amount of information fed through her eyes, freezing cold waterfall smashing into her head. She quickly looked down. She felt light headed. There were so many circles and patterns and Text at ceiling. Like it was a platform for ritual. That thought made her shiver. She stopped her ever negative thought process.
“ It’s a prison. Once the spell is cast nothing can enter or leave this place. If we use this spell then we will be Gambling on the time. If Warlord does not arrive within that time we will be dead”
“ But.. considering this is already the end of the realm and I have no plan of fleeing. This spell is elder’s grace”
Upon Alenor’s no response, Celine looked at her.
“Did you look up?”
“Yes…” Alenor uttered in low voice. Already feeling shame
“It’s my fault, I should have warned you. Do not look at any ceiling, only I am allowed to know information contained within it.”
“Yes, Miss celine.”
“Were there any other instructions?”
“No”
“Hm..” Celine looked outside the window, where? Alenor could not see”
“This Banal one ask her highness permission to take its leave”
Alenor said with a shallow bow, this was unbreakable etiquette when someone like her left any noble's presence. Celine’s eyes widened, and her face twisted in disgust. Alenor saw her hand raising and there was a stinging pain on her left cheek. She looked down at the ground. It did not truly hurt, of all the pain she has suffered it was nothing. Yet tears welled up in her eyes. She made her angry.
“‘Banal’, do not use those words so casually, do you know how horrifying history it holds? I left everything and came to this place, this forgotten place, just to stay away from all of the blood fallacies. And now you come here to remind me what I am, on my last day”
[Author note: hellow, as I have repeatedly failed to use scribble hub's author note, I will just write like this. Now, I just want to say this story would be very different from what you may expect from this arc. it is just for set up and a point of beginning, with very few characters. I have almost complete this arc. Chapters will get longer.. around 2k words. I want to drop all the chapter but then this story will not get any new readers as well as grammatical errors that I snuff out before posting. I will try to improve my writing style as we progress... it's first time I have really written a story so they are this bad. If you have any tips or suggestion please comment down and thank you for reading this long useless paragraph. And for whatever reason my wi-fi is down so this chapter will posted late than usual schedule. so I will continue writing this A//N-Now, This story will be in two parts- first is Warlord and The Lady and second will be called King of sages( it would be more battle heavy than the former) I do not know how long will it take to complete but it will be 100% completed. In exam months this will be on hiatus. Well now half the chapter is just Author note ???????? on a side note pls check it out on RR if you use it. https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/62401/paradise-warlord-and-the-lady ]
