Emotions of highness, the night a truly mysterious place. Memories lingering inside of the past, despair grabbing at the core, familiar yet frightening. Hatred, conviction, resolve, endless feelings stirring from far within. Those words echoing through her mind, to remember who she has been. That soft heart being on trial, those many emotions clawing its way to the surface. Those very feathers raining down from the sky, the representation of the malice within her. Those very feathers, those very wings in which she has taken pride in, deteriorating to such a pitiful state. The wings in which she has been proud of, turning into the blackness of the night.

Rose...she is indeed my greed in physical form. Pity does no good...but what did she mean...? That I do not remember.

If there is not one conflict, there is another. Memories eluding the mind of the angel, unsettling emotions grabbing at her. Perhaps it is fear of confronting what is not only inside of the past, but also what is closer to the present. Cyra extending her hand, a feather landing within her palm. Her vision resting upon it, such dreadful eyes they are, watching the feather slowly wasting away, turning more and more into the blackness plaguing her heart. Maybe one can say the image of such is the darkness deep inside of her, a reflection of herself.

"Perhaps I deserved to have lost these wings...still...if anything, I must reclaim that which is mine." She dreadfully speaks.

To reclaim which is her own, despite the wrong she has done, that will continuing onward. Dreadful it may be, agonizing really, but that is okay. So long as she can continue to breathe, then there is always hope remaining, no matter how slim it may be. Closing her hand into a fist, the feather burning away into dust. Opening her palm, watching the dust blowing away into the wind. From a distance, a familiar person standing there, looking at her. The person slightly glancing down, soon turning their head. Inhaling and exhaling, that mysterious one walking towards her.

"That was pretty heated." A familiar voice states.

That voice of familiarity, the one lurking within the shadows. Cyra turning in the direction of the vampire from earlier, the devil standing a few feet away from her. A strange one he is, revealing himself once more. Normally, a demon is not foolish enough to reveal themselves twice, let alone once. Either way, in this horrifying night, it is not so bad to have a friendly face, no matter who it may be. There are many things resting on her shoulders, most of which she cannot even come to a conclusion on at the moment.

"I thought you were going to rest." She responds a bit in surprise.

"And miss out on a battle such as that? Nah, I can wait just a bit longer." He prances back and forth, propping his arms behind his head.

"What is your aim demon?" she folds her arms, looking towards him, her eyes of suspicion.

While he does not appear to be of a threat, and a rather friendly fellow, the young woman cannot simply let her guard down. Those familiar eyes of hers, the devil knowing them so well, that gaze that can strike fear into the mightiest of foes. Someone capable of the most extreme of feats, even if they must push onward in the deepest of abyss. Admirable really, to go so far, to keep getting back up whenever they are down. An old fire burning anew, the eternal night bringing nightmares into reality.

"As I told you, I simply want this to stop, she really tore you apart there huh." He turns from her.

"..."

"Listen, okay? Everyone makes mistakes. If you go into battle conflicted, you will certainly end up dead. Keep searching, keep looking, and surely you will be rewarded." He glances back to her, his eyes gentle upon her.

"..."

That maiden slightly looking away, feeling all too familiar emotions. Words evermore similar, guiding they are, comforting really. Even if it is appearing hopeless, so long as one can keep a steady mind, then it is okay. Enduring those hardships can lead to a reward of much worth, to keep searching, to keep resisting. This is the will to oppose what is reasoning, that fire burning even hotter by the moment. Cyra wondering on why this demon is so different, his attitude being closer to that of an old friend. In any case, she is unable to find any reason to be hostile towards him. That vampire shrugging, a yawn escaping him.

"Anyway, time for my nap. See ya around angel."

A peculiar one this devil is. Within the vastness of the Nine Worlds, there is no such thing as good nor evil, simply a means of perspective. This demon may not be one with a reprehensible view, but certainly he is a friendly face for once. That angel can only watch the devil heading deeper and deeper into that night, his words striking at her very core. Everyone is capable of making mistakes, and that is okay. However, one must never go into battle with a conflicting mind. This holding the possibility of leading to an early end, burying the desires of the person along with the rest.

Could it simply be a coincidence...? Did he know you...? No...maybe...you never did judge even demons. I have not the time to waste, but he is right, if I go in conflicted, then I will surely perish.

Once again the maiden looking up into that blood moon, that object cursing the very night itself. Feeling the gentle breeze hitting against her, the air seeming gentle. Devils no longer inside of the area, that warm light from before making certain of it. Even if for a moment, one can have a short rest inside of this eternal nightmare. Cyra returning to the fountain area, watching the streaming water, seeing the reflection of herself. The doubt clear in her eyes, the sorrow deep inside of her. Taking his words to heart, that angel thinking back to the past, reflecting on a more pleasant time.

—The Past Revisited—

—1100 Years Ago—

The harsh sun shining down, chaos tearing through the battlefield below. Hills stretching high, bodies spanning far and wide. A massive war it is, seeing numerous weapons for miles. A sickening sight it is, witnessing so many bodies in dismemberment. The daylight doing no good in remedying the situation, only intensifying the brutality that has befallen so many. Blood staining both the land and air, stubbornly protruding. Gods, demons, angels, Elvens, dragons, and so many more are at war. Liquid of crimson spilling, the steel of a blade cleaving its enemy in two. A maiden, one serving the gods, standing with her sword in hand. Stress residing deep within her, that young woman holding her right hand upon the side of her head. Her eyes clearly expressing disgust, her weapon slowly lowering. From high in the sky, a mighty beast identifying its next target. The maiden that is struggling far below, that monster descending, revealing its mighty claw.

"Hey! Keep it together!"

Those words from a voice shaking her back into reality, that maiden looking to the sky, seeing the dragon nearing her. The beast approaching by the moment, its fearsome claws closing in for the kill. An icy mist shrouding the surrounding area, cold yet comforting. A mysterious man appearing in front of her, stopping the claw of the dragon. The young woman stepping back, witnessing the sparking of the katana and the claw of the dragon. Foolishness in her distraction, a moment of vulnerability eating away at her. Standing there, repelling the mighty claw of the beast is the god amongst gods themselves, the highest of the rankings. Hair crimson as the moon, eyes in reflection to the ocean. Armor harder than a dragon's scale, reflecting the belief he cherishes. Those eyes locking onto its moment, that deity instantly cleaving the dragon in two. Closing his vision for a moment, the god extending his blade, soon sheathing it. Taking a moment, gathering his nerves, the god turning, facing the maiden.

"You're one of the new recruits..." He folds his arms.

"I—I'm sorry..." She apologizes, looking down in regret.

"Hey, it's fine, I warned those bastards to leave new recruits outta this mess." He turns, some anger to his face.

That god taking a moment, observing the surrounding area, seeing devils scattering far and wide, massacre all around. Safety for the time being, but difficult in identifying for how long. That angel resting her vision upon him, confusion clear in her eyes, wondering specifically who he is. Dreadful the experience has been, much she is wishing in knowing. Lives that are no more from this madness, everything feeling surreal. Conflict around every corner, an experience most shaking. One pushing onward, slowly falling apart.

"Your name?" he regrettably questions.

"Maria..." She responds, slightly propping her head.

"Well, Maria—"

His eyes fixating a bit, the deity thinking for a moment, that maiden finding him quite a peculiar one. Disgust expressing from his eyes. Little importance it is for the time being, a conflict much more of severity. Quickly scanning the area, that deity ensuring the state of the surrounding enemies. Numerous having distractions, that god returning his vision towards her. There is much he is wishing to know, but at the moment, getting out of the current situation is of more importance.

"—tell me...the squad you came with...are they okay?" he questions a bit hesitantly.

"No...they are all dead..." She looks away.

"Tch...I'm gonna seriously give those gods an earful when this is over." He turns with disgust in his eyes.

That maiden looking towards him, wondering his aim. Perhaps he is a friendly face in this madness, for certain he does not appear to be a threat, at least for the time being that is. Coming so far, maybe those words of a certain someone has been true. Painful the experiences has been, agonizing really, the heart wishing for a rest. Maybe this is the break she is needing, even if for a moment. Even so, this might be far too much of a burden upon another.

"Stay close to me, okay?" he glances back to her, slightly hanging his head low.

"B—but...I will only get in the way..." She uncertainly responds.

"You are not dying on my watch, remember this if anything." He calmly speaks.

"Huh...? What do you mean...?"

"If you go into battle conflicted, you will surely perish. Cast aside your fears, your doubts, those will simply hasten your demise. Even as bleak as this situation seems, there is always a way. You just gotta find it." He confidently states.

"..."

Maria taking his words to heart, carefully thinking on it. Clearly the conflict within her may have been the reasoning for forfeiting her life, those words ringing through her. There is no doubt in her mind that the strife within her may have been a fatal repercussion. That deity facing in her direction, placing his hand upon his waist, extending his offhand towards her. Brightly Smiling at her, filling her with hope. No matter the morrow, no matter the sorrow, so long as one can continue to resist, then there is always a chance.

"It ain't over till it's over, so don't you go givin' up, okay?" he gently speaks.

A pleasant person he is, despite the situation they are within. One that can continue smiling, even if the conflict is so dire. That stranger reminding her of someone, that young woman incapable of identifying them. Even so, it is nice, meeting a friendly face for once. Returning a smile, that maiden nodding in agreement. Shaking the other's hand, both looking towards the intensifying battle. To continue to resist, to be able to grab hold of those desires far inside. That will in pressing onward, even in the blackest of abyss.

"I'm Valor by the way." He states.

Valor turning to the conflict with his blade in hand, the chilling wind blowing through the battlefield. No doubt, no hesitation, only the battle. In war, conflict constantly within the mind. Survival of the utmost importance, bringing back as many as possible. Numerous potentially sharing in the joy, this being of necessity. Conflict never ending, this no doubt of expectance. After all, one having to find their stance in this endless turmoil, only then can there be a moment of bliss.

"Let's go, Maria." He speaks, glancing back to her.

"Right." She agrees.

—Present Time—

Holding her right hand to her chest, remembering such pleasant times, those memories eternally burning inside of her. Those events bringing back a spark far inside of her, confusing yet comforting. Those two against the worlds itself, a time of bliss. Even if the conflict is dire, it is okay. Two friends constantly extending a hand to the other, smiling in the most unlikely of scenarios. A simpler time it has been, but some of her most happiest experiences as well.

"I have admired you ever since. I should have died that day...yet you made it a priority to save my own. Now I have done this...please forgive me. I will do everything that is within my power to quell such a threat..." She speaks, sorrow lingering within her.

Regret deep within, to have done such a wrong. Those times of bliss may not even be a possibility anymore, but she will try. Even if there is sorrow ahead, this is part of her punishment to endure. Her blade in hand, that angel looking onward to the dark path leading deeper and deeper into the mysterious night. Casting aside those emotions for the time being, Cyra resting her vision ahead to the eternal night. No hesitation, no doubts, that war weighing on her mind.

"I must quell this threat, I must reclaim Reviver, my wings, and most importantly, I must discover why you disappeared. Dying here will do no good, wait for me...old friend."

To reclaim what has been lost, to discover what has become of her old friend. Two tasks that might be far above her capabilities, but even so, she must try. That maiden heading off into the unknown, her enemies growing by the minute. The night seeming to never end, an unforgivable mistake, to right the wrong that has been done, and end this nightmare. A war that should have never been, birthing from the desires of one.

Old friend...just as you guided me before, I am positive you are guiding me now...I must find Reviver, and I must stop Rose. That is my first priority.
