The following days passed by quickly. After cashing out on Wolfblade, he was pretty happy. 20 gold coins in the span of 3 days was pretty good. However, the following days became pretty depressing as each day passed.

20 gold coins in 4 days.

20 gold coins in 7 days..

20 gold coins in 10 days...

A week had passed since he had gotten his 20 gold coins from Wolfblade but he wasn’t able to find any other jobs or bounty that had a good pay as he traveled to Allwake City. Now, he had finally reached Allwake City and could only hope that he would find more jobs soon. It had been a month already and he didn’t how much time it would take him to reach the second stage of qi refinement.

Entering the city, he had a smile as he anticipated as he traveled around.

“Hello, when does the next auction start?” Qian Yu entered the city’s auction house and asked a receptionist.

“There was an auction a week ago so the next one will be in three weeks,” the receptionist answered.

‘Well at least it didn’t start yesterday…’ Qian Yu didn’t seem too bothered. Leaving the auction, he started entering the poorer zones of the city. The buildings were a lot older. Easily, one could tell that the wood on the houses were old and the streets were pretty dirty as more litter was seen on the ground.

Along the way, he had met and gotten acquainted with a few rogue cultivators. In one of these encounters, he had been told of a “secret” gathering spot for rogue cultivators in Allwake City.

Qian Yu was slightly skeptical of the gathering. To him, it seemed pretty unlikely such a gathering was so famous and talked about. Would the higher ups in the city really let a rogue cultivator gathering go unnoticed? Likely, there were people monitoring the gatherings, he thought.

Qian Yu followed the instructions that the rogue cultivator had given him and he soon found himself inside a random bar.

“Hello sir, would you like to drink something today?” the bartender asked.

“A Red Lily,” Qian Yu said.

“Would you like a private room sir?” the bartender replied.

“No, let me go to the restroom first,” Qian Yu answered.

“Alright, head down that hallway and enter the 2nd room on your right. Put this chip into the trashcan and make sure you lock the doors,” the bartender replied normally.

Qian Yu followed the instructions and travelled down the hallway. Seeing a trash can specifically made for the chip, he locked the door.

*Brrr* Qian Yu put the chip into the trashcan and instantly, a door started opening up from the stone wall.

‘So damn cool,’ Qian Yu couldn’t help but be amazed at these small magical devices. First it was his identification card and now there was this small tablet-like chip that was used to act as some sort of key.

At the same time, it confirmed that it was most likely, not a gathering for rogue cultivators. How could they have such advanced formations and scriptures?

Walking down the corridor for a few minutes, he finally arrived at a spacious area as he saw other rogue cultivators. After half an hour, people stopped coming in from the countless entrances. All together, there were about 100 people which was within Qian Yu’s expectation. People soon began getting active including Qian Yu.

“Selling beast cores!” “Finding a herb!” “Hiring a team to safeguard me!” There were plenty of shouts in the gathering.

In these gatherings, information was traded the most and Qian Yu didn’t mind spending a couple gold to get valuable information. Other than that, people were either here to sell or buy something whether it be artifacts, certain herbs, weapons, etc. Qian Yu could sell his Snowdrop flowers here but he discovered that he would make less money selling it this way so he chose to save it for the auction in three weeks. As long as the flowers were stored properly, they wouldn’t lose their magical properties.

The last category were requests, which was the other reason Qian Yu was here. A few people went up and made their requests which included a variety of offers.

“Need a team of qi gathering cultivators to hunt a spiritual beast!” A man yelled out. Finally, a certain request was brought up that met Qian Yu’s standard in terms of difficulty and pay.

Following the person who announced it, the interested rogue cultivators were brought to a private room to discuss the details. Including Qian Yu, there were three people who were interested in it.

“Welcome welcome, please take a sit,” their employer said. As the four people sat down in the separate room, Qian Yu began to observe the other three to the best of his abilities. The man who had announced the request stated that only qi gathering fighters could join. However, Qian Yu wasn’t experienced or strong enough to see the realms of the other three.

This “leader” looked like a man in his 20s. He didn’t have any noticeable features but he did give off a friendly vibe. In fact, Qian Yu felt that the leader reminded him a little bit about Gu Zan.

Other than him, one of the other 2 that was interested in the request was a female. Additionally, she wore thick black robes and had a hat, veil, and mask covering her facial features so he couldn’t really get any other information.

As for the other rogue cultivator who was recruited, he didn’t bother hiding his face. He was a middle aged man and one of the older rogue cultivators that Qian Yu had seen before.

After everyone sat down, the man who gave the request started expanding on his request.

“I need help killing a peak uncommon grade spiritual beast, and the pay will be 50 gold coins for each of you guys. I’ll keep all the spoils,” the man calmly said.

‘A peak uncommon grade spiritual beast! Ice Mountain Tigers back home are only in the early stages most of the time… but a peak uncommon grade is crazy!’ Qian Yu thought. After the winter hunt had ended, he learned that the Ice Mountain Tigers that Zhao Xieren and the rest hunted were at the early stages of the uncommon grade. This was because these tigers would be hunted every year when the winter hunt came so they didn’t have the opportunity to mature and grow stronger. This was the only reason why a group of body refinement fighters and a few qi gathering realm fighters were able to kill a beast that was similar to a soul foundation human.

As for why he needed to kill the spiritual beast, it was most likely for the beast core which had numerous uses.

The three recruited rogue cultivators thought for a minute or so until the middle-aged man said, “What is the beast and when do we depart?”

“We’ll depart tomorrow and I will tell you the identity of the beast tomorrow when we leave,” the leader replied.

“Alright, if there are no questions, that is all. We will meet at the Drunken Tavern near the east gate tomorrow in the morning,” he said.
