Author’s Note: Hey all, hope you are enjoying the MC’s new companion. Anyways, I’ve finished with school and now that summer has started I feel like I can put in a lot more time on writing.

Recently, I have been putting in some thought about the amount of mature content in the novel and would like to hear what you guys think regarding the following. Currently, we are at one R18 chapter and by the end of the volume in about 20 chapters, there are only two more. Smut chapters, in general, usually don’t have much in progressing the plot. Originally, I planned to have a decent amount of R18 content (as dual cultivation will have another purpose that will be revealed later on), but currently, the R18 content rate is pretty conservative. I feel like this has not only affected the future R18 rate and content but more importantly, the identity of the novel being more focused on everything else besides smut and of course, the type of audience I get that is fine with this pacing.

Lastly, I will be opening up a patreon page soon whenever my stockpile reaches a number I’m comfortable enough with allowing for advanced chapters. I’m also planning to have the page be more focused on the R18 aspect by having something like an extra monthly smut chapter that will probably be more kinky or something if and for anyone interested.

Thank you and enjoy!

“Oh yeah, one last thing. Do you know if I can get a bloodline inheritance with my heavenly constitution?” Qian Yu remembered what could be the most important thing he had somehow forgotten.

‘Is this what that seer and woman meant by fate? Am I going to get a qilin bloodline!’ Qian Yu couldn’t help but be excited as he thought of this.

Unfortunately, Tian Xinyi’s next words shattered his dreams, “Sorry master, but that isn’t possible. You cannot receive a bloodline if you have a heavenly constitution. It will dilute the power of the heavenly constitution and your body cannot handle both powers rampaging through your body.”

“…” Qian Yu silently stared at the ground as he cursed inwardly, ‘Of course it doesn’t work. Damn it!’

“Alright, I will go rest again. I’m still not in the best shape. Bye master!” she happily said as she touched him and disappeared.

Laying on the bed, Qian Yu just looked up as he thought, ‘It’s nice to not be alone’. It was always nice to have somebody with you to talk to and not be alone. He had felt this after he left the sect but even more so after Sun Hong and him separated yet he never expected his next travelling companion would be a spiritual beast.

The next day, Qian Yu left the village as he hurriedly rushed back to the Soba Capital. With the upcoming appointment with Elder Zhang, there was nothing too big he could do. Outside of taking a couple simple tasks to earn some pocket change, Qian Yu just cultivated and played around with Tian Xinyi.

Like that, the following days passed and soon, it was the appointment with Elder Zhang, just a week before the start of the Soba Festival.

“Hello sir, do you have a reservation?” a receptionist asked Qian Yu who was at the first floor of Tiger’s Den and unlike before, this restaurant had 9 floors to it.

“My name’s Qian Yu. I have a reservation with Elder Zhang from the Ice Arts Sect,” Qian Yu answered the receptionist.

“Ahh, yes Qian Yu, please follow me,” he smiled as he led Qian Yu up the stairs.

Soon, Qian Yu was brought to a private room as the receptionist opened the door, “Hello sir, I have brought your guest here.”

“Alright, thank you, come in Qian Yu,” Elder Zhang smiled as he beckoned Qian Yu to come over.

Qian Yu nodded as he walked towards Elder Zhang, “Greetings Elder Zhang”.

At the same time, the food had just come in, making it the perfect timing.

Seeing the food on the table, Qian Yu soon heard some words in his consciousness, ‘MASTER, IT LOOKS SO GOOD!’

‘Calm down Xinyi, I don’t dare to bring you out in front of someone at the Martial Fighter realm,’ Qian Yu pacified the gluttonous spiritual beast. It would be completely abnormal if Qian Yu was able to form a spiritual beast contract while he was in the qi gathering realm as this wasn’t usually possible since their soul world wouldn’t be formed yet.

Smiling to Elder Zhang, Qian Yu took a seat as he waited for Elder Zhang to talk.

“Hahaha, it hasn’t even been 2 months yet but you are already at the 4th rank of qi gathering realm,” Elder Zhang laughed as a hint of suspicion could be seen in his eyes.

“Ahh, yes, I was actually fortunate enough to land my hands on a heaven grade cultivation technique,” Qian Yu laughed as he put his hands behind his head. This was the story that he had come up with. If he used a sky ranked cultivation technique, it would be less realistic to ascend so many realms so fast. At the same time, it wouldn’t bring too much suspicion and jealousy as technically, the Ice Sutra was a legendary grade cultivation technique and Elder Zhang probably knew this. Eventually, he could get his hands on it.

Even if they investigated him more, they would easily find his connection with Bai Jia and they would probably think that he got his cultivation technique from her. Qian Yu was even more confident of this after discovering her crazy background.

“Alright, looks like you are not so simple. Eat first and we will talk after,” Elder Zhang ambiguously said as he started eating.

Truly the meal was delicious and Qian Yu couldn’t help but exclaim at the delicacies every time he came here.

Half an hour later, the two people finished eating as they finally started talking.

Starting off, Elder Zhang calmly said, “The sect would like to buy the three sky ranked cultivation techniques from you for 100 spirit stones each”.

Qian Yu was drinking some tea when Elder Zhang said that as he choked on the tea, “AH *cough cough*, 100 spirit stones each?” Qian Yu was delighted.

‘Comparing it to all the work I’ve put in to get my spirit stones so far… this feels amazing!’ Qian Yu marveled at his lucky encounter.

‘Master, how much is that? How many times can we eat here with that money?’ Tian Xinyi asked him.

‘Well, I have been working my ass off for a while and I only have a couple dozen spirit stones. As for the second question, to be honest, I haven’t looked at the menu and prices even though I’ve been here twice…’ Qian Yu replied as he shifted his focus back to Elder Zhang.

“That is a lot of money,” Qian Yu blatantly and concisely said.

“It is nothing for the sect. However, the sect will only give you 200 spirit stones and a spatial storage treasure if that is fine,” Elder Zhang said as he brought out a spatial storage treasure and put it on the table.

‘So, a regular spatial storage treasure is 100 spirit stones I guess,’ Qian Yu quickly thought as he felt the ring on his chest. He had tied it as a necklace to avoid attracting any unnecessary attention.

Moving his hands into his robes, Qian Yu took out three scrolls and placed them on the table.

“That is fine by me, but how do I activate or use this treasure,” Qian Yu pretended to act clueless making it seem he had never used a spatial storage treasure before.

Elder Zhang turned the rotating top of the table and the goods were exchanged as he said, “It’s easy, just focus your qi and bind it into the ring”.

Qian Yu nodded and pretended to have never done this before. After a few minutes, he opened his closed eyes as a smile was on his face, “Thank you Elder Zhang”.

“It is nothing, you may go now,” Elder Zhang dismissed Qian Yu as the two were done eating.

“Yes, of course,” Qian Yu stood up and bowed to Elder Zhang as he left the room.

‘Sigh, did I say or do anything wrong?’ Qian Yu wondered to himself as he walked out of the room.

Meanwhile, Elder Zhang was still in the room as he took out a piece of paper. He looked at it and sighed as he muttered, ‘Close with Bai Jia of the Bai Family, lucky kid’.

Walking out of the restaurant, Qian Yu went to see the craftsman to give him the beast cores.

“Hello, Master Xia, here are the beast cores,” Qian Yu said as he entered the room.

“Did you decide on your weapon yet?” he asked as he was crafting some kind of weapon.

“Yeah, I’ll stick with the spear,” Qian Yu decided. Over the last few days, he had decided that since he had always used the spear, there was no reason to change. While the glaive did have advantages, his weapon currently was still the supportive part of his fighting power and Lightning Spasm was the lethal attack anyways.

“Just leave the beast cores on the table over there. Come back in two weeks. There are a lot of orders,” master Xia said as he continued working.

“Alright thank you,” Qian Yu said as he left the room.

Walking out of the building, Qian Yu took his daily stroll around the capital as he looked at the preparations of the festival that was going to happen in one week.
