Meanwhile, over a dozen people were fighting the two black spiritual beasts.

“Pillar of Stone!” “Flames of Origin - Serpents!” a few cultivators attacked from a far.

*Fwoosh* The projectiles flew out towards the beast yet none managed to connect.

“They are so flexible and fast,” a cultivator cursed fearfully.

*Slash!* the claw of the spiritual beast soon found another victim as Qian Yu got to the battlefield.

‘Damn it, there’s a few dead already. A lot are injured as well,’ Qian Yu thought as he looked at the spiritual beasts. In the previous fights against the other rare grade spiritual beasts, there were of course a lot of casualties. However, rarely did people die and if anything, most were just heavily injured. Now, though there were a few dead bodies on the ground already.

“Hey, what are you doing, let’s go help them!” Another few cultivators arrived.

“… fine, let’s go,” Qian Yu said as he gritted his teeth.

“We just need to stall a couple minutes,” the guy said as he ran forward.

“Thank god some backup came!” one of the fighters said as the group had just come up.

“What’s the plan right now?” someone asked.

“We gave up trying to kill the two beasts so we are just trying to use everything defensively now to protect ourselves and zone the beasts,” the cultivator explained.

‘Tch, the only bad thing about Lightning Spasm is that it’s useless against physical attacks,’ Qian Yu snickered. In a situation like this, he was completely useless and decided to just play safe.

“Sounds good,” the arriving backup nodded.

“Yea, hmph, killing them might be hard but stalling should be fine,” another cultivator confidently added.

“Here they come again!” the fighter yelled.

“Flames of Origin - Wall” “The Stone House!”

A large wall of yellow flame suddenly surrounded the two spiritual beasts blocking their vision. While it didn’t really contain them for long, it brought a few seconds to set some things up.

Once the flames started appearing, earth pillars started forming from the ground and in a matter of seconds, the circle of fire was enclosed by the slabs trapping the two spiritual beasts.

“Haha, wasn’t that easy! That should buy us a minute or two,” one of the previous confident cultivators laughed.

“Yea, what are they go-” the other started talking.

“BAM!” a sound came from the direction of the wall.

Glancing at the wall, a large hole could be seen as the smoke dissipated.

“Where did they go AHH!” A nearby man was saying before he screamed.

“AHHH!” another man by the side yelled out.

‘What the!’ Qian Yu cursed as he looked at where the sounds came from. On the ground, there were two new bodies lying in a new pool of red blood. By their bodies, two spiritual beasts with red eyes were looking at the group.

“H-how did they break my wall so easily! I’m just a step from a Martial Fighter,” the guy screamed in fear as he started walking back.

“Shit, they hid away with the smoke to attack us!” Another one said.

“J-just what are these! How are they beating us with so many soul foundation fighters” one of them yelled in horror.

Slowly, their feet started retreating.

“RUN!” They shouted.

‘Damn it, I should have left when I knew I couldn’t have done anything,’ Qian Yu cursed as he started running.

However, even with his greater than average heavenly constitution, how could Qian Yu compete with the soul foundation cultivators. As such, the qi gathering fighters were at the end of the pack and soon, the two monsters would catch up.

Within seconds, Qian Yu turned his head as he saw the spiritual beasts leap at him along with another cultivator.

“FUCK, I don’t want to die!” one of the qi gathering cultivator said as he turned around and blocked the claw attack.

‘Me too,’ Qian Yu gritted his teeth as he proceeded to do the same.

“Bang!” “Snap!” Two different sounds rang out.

“AHHH!” Qian Yu yelled as he was launched back into the air. As he did, he looked at the other cultivator who was targeted, and in this case, was lying in another pool of blood. By the side, the normal spear was broken into two pieces.

Qian Yu didn’t have time to praise the mortal ranked spear as he immediately tried to get up and start running again. Yet as he did, he immediately fell back down as he looked down at his leg and thought, ‘Fuck, I didn’t even notice I got impaled by a rock’. A few seconds passed and Qian Yu felt the claws of death coming for him as they were just a few meters away.

*Swoosh* The sound of air ripping violently suddenly vibrated throughout the battlefield.

“RAWRR!” and within seconds, the two beasts shrieked as blood rang out from their bodies.

For the first time, an attack had managed to land on the two beasts.

Turning their heads towards the source of the attack, everyone including the spiritual beasts saw a floating cultivator with a bow in his hand.

“It’s Cao Tu. He’s here!” a person shouted.

“We’re saved!” another person shouted.

“Mutated Bloodclaw Hyenas… interesting,” Cao Tu didn’t bother with the cries as he immediately went into battle.

“Eat this!” Cao Tu smiled as he put forward his bow. Putting his hand on the string, he pulled it back all the way. Yet he wasn’t holding onto an arrow and instead, an arrow of qi was soon formed.

“Explosive Shot!” Cao Tu yelled as he let go. “Bbdum” a large sound rang out as he released the arrow and flew forward.

“BOOM!” instantly the arrow flew forward and before Qian Yu even realized the arrow had left, a small explosion rang out from one of the spiritual beasts.

“GRAHHHH!” The beasts screamed in pain as they looked at the human causing it agony.

Yet as it did, it saw three more arrows flying towards their direction.

“Boom!” Another three small explosions rang out as both the two Bloodclaw Hyenas were hit this time.

“RAWHHH” the healthier Bloodclaw Hyena screamed as it ran towards Cao Tu. Meanwhile, the other Bloodclaw Hyena had 3 large bloody holes on its body as it struggled to stand up. With blood oozing out of its body, it had red bloodshot eyes as it stared and slowly approached Qian Yu a few meters away.

‘Shit, it still wants to kill me even with being a step away from death,’ Qian Yu finally managed to stand up as he popped one of the healing pills he got from the inheritance realm. Using the spear, Qian Yu propelled himself up as he limped away from the beast.

“Heh, I didn't think your defense would be so strong. Alright, fine. Let’s see how you like this,” Cao Tu laughed as he pulled back on his bow forming a black arrow at his fingertips. Releasing he shouted, “Yin Arrow of Death!”

*Thud* As Cao Tu said that, a spear dropped while a black arrow of death shot through the sky before piercing the Bloodclaw Hyena running at it. Hearing the name of the martial technique, Qian Yu froze like a statue dropping the spear as he remembered where he heard of that skill before.

“GWARRR!” it roared as it collapsed while its body started getting corroded from the inside.

Yet another Bloodclaw Hyena was just a few feet from the frozen human amidst the chaos.

‘Huh? Yin Arrow of Death. Isn’t that the same technique that almost killed Sun Hong?’ a thought rang out Qian Yu’s head.

With crazed eyes, the near dead Bloodclaw Hyena used all of its remaining energy as it raised its claw.

“MASTER!” a voice screamed from nearby.

‘Why… why… why is that here?’ Uncontrollable memories flooded through Qian Yu’s head.

*Thud* Qian Yu felt something knock him over.

‘Why did you do that to Sun Hong?’ Still, the memories kept coming.

“Slash!” a sound rang out as blood splattered.

‘Huh? Is this blood on my cheek? Why is Zhen Yue on th-’ Qian Yu finally snapped out of it as he looked downwards. Only a few seconds had passed but in the battlefield, anything could happen.

“ZHEN YUE!” a voice echoed out the battlefield.

“Zhen Yue, why aren’t you saying anything? What happened to us going to find your family? Zhen Yue, you’re fine right?” tears streamed down Qian Yu’s face as he held the girl in his arms who had a large cut across her torso.

“I’ll stop the bleeding first okay? So promise you’ll wak-” Qian Yu started taking out some bandages, herbs, and pills before he noticed something about her injury.

“W-why is the wound black… this is poison,” Qian Yu muttered as he felt his vision go blurry.

“And I… don’t know the antidote,” Qian Yu's head started spinning.

“Doesn’t that mean Zhen Yue is going to die?” Qian Yu muttered.

‘Isn’t this your fault?’ voices started appearing in Qian Yu’s mind.

‘Aren’t you the one who just stood still?’

‘If you didn’t then Zhen Yue didn’t need to have to push you away.’

‘Yea, it’s my fault. I should be the one on the ground...’ the thoughts stopped as something brought Qian Yu’s consciousness back to reality.

*Thud* A pouch was thrown in front of Qian Yu and Zhen Yue.

‘Huh, what’s this?’ Qian Yu’s soulless eyes confusedly looked at it.

“This is the antidote for the poison, use it on her fast,” a young but stern voice told Qian Yu.

‘Antidote?’ Qian Yu no longer felt dizzy as he reached forward for the pouch.

Looking up, he saw a man in golden robes with a bow on his back who was currently giving the antidote to the other injured cultivators.
