Gray continued his ascension up the floors leaving behind a trail of the enemies corpses behind.
The door he had chosen was in fact that correct door, it had taken him into another hall with a few turns left and right.
But as if luck itself was on his side, he ended up encountering another pair of captains heading somewhere.
He silently followed after them, making sure not to get caught only to end up standing inside of another giant room at the centre of the ship which was filled with captains.
He peeked through the doors before it closed, and counted individually how many there were.
Eighteen.
There were Eighteen inside, plus the two which had just arrived totalled it up to twenty.
*Kachunk*
The door closed, and Gray's figure had vanished.
[Pause Step].
One of the lamps attached to the ceiling swayed left and right repeatedly.
[Pause.]
It stopped.
Gray had appeared at the top of the lamp, paused it in place before looking down below.
He scanned his eyes through the room. The Kessho's were mostly seated at the table, eating their meals and chatting away.
They were so relaxed they hadn't even noticed the fact that Gray had already infiltrated amongst them.
*Growl*
A slight rumble came from the depths of his stomach as he watched them eat, they were eating some sort of meat glazed in a special sauce.
Just watching it made him hungry.
He completely forgot that he hadn't had a proper meal since they had left Khouria.
He glanced over to one end of the room, there was a kitchen there and a Kessho serving the meat, and a small line of Kessho's waiting ahead of it.
Behind the one serving the food was a grill, skinned animals of different species which Gray had never encountered were being grilled.
The ones which weren't were pinned against the wall, and frozen in ice so that they wouldn't spoil.
Gray looked back down and listened in on the conversation of the Kessho directly beneath him.
From where he stood, all Gray could see was his beige red hair, trimmed beard and large muscular figure. Based on his voice alone, he seemed to be in his twenties if not older.
On his waist was but a single mace.
He was chugging down beer while eating the meat and having a laugh with his table.
Gray could feel it, both he and the table were captains.
It wasn't just them but rather... Everyone in the entirety of the room.
"Things are going good, at this rate, we'll have conquered this continent before we know it." Said the beige red haired Kessho, as he wiped the remnants of the beer around his lips.
"The only problem we're facing is the other race that's also fighting for this continent." Said the Sepia brown haired Kessho drinking beside him.
The beige red haired Kessho breathed out heavily and happily raised his mug to the Kessho next to him.
"We're more advanced than them, stronger too. This will be another easy victory."
Upon saying so, the other Kessho's at his table happily raised their mugs, giving him a nod.
He refilled the beer in his cup and chugged in the other one.
"What we should focus on now is taking care of the rat above me." He said with a grin.
By the time he had said that, Gray's bloodied Katana was already inches away from his neck.
*CLANG!*
Gray's eyes widened however, as in almost an instant, A Kessho leapt up from beneath the table, knocking it over before parrying Gray's swing.
Sand yellow Hair with Crystal red eyes, Gray only got one glimpse at her figure, before her short knife collided against the edge of his blade.
She wore a black suit, sort of like Violet's but tighter, further accentuating her large curves. She had a black mask on which covered part of her expressions but based on the glare she gave Gray it was easy to tell what expression it was.
Gray landed on top of a table, almost slipping as he knocked over a few mugs, whereas the girl crashed into one of the men's chest.
She kicked off of it leaping towards Gray, while the other Kessho's were still getting ready for battle, having been caught by surprise.
*Swoosh!*
Gray's head tilted to the left, allowing him to barely avoid one of the knifes she threw at him mid-air.
Another three knives were thrown at him, with her just a few feet away.
Simultaneously, she thrust her main knife right at his chest, aiming for a quick and instant kill.
However-
[Pause.]
All the knives thrown, froze in place right before his figure. The knife which she had thrust forward, had stayed behind while the momentum dragged her forward.
*WHAM!*
A kick landed cleanly on the side of her face, a split second after.
*Splash!*
The kick passed right through her, her entire body shifted into water just as his leg made contact.
Her water shaped head, exploded upon collision while the rest of the water shaped after her body crashed into Gray.
"!?"
Gray's brows raised in surprise, he turned his attention to the left, where a glowing red fist burst towards his face.
[Trajectory Shift: Level 1.]
*Fwoosh!*
Gray avoided it, his body was bent backwards and his eyes were glued to the glowing red fist in front of them.
It was the beige red haired kessho from before.
Gray instantly countered, bending all the way back and catching himself with his arms as he kicked towards the Kessho's head.
The kick was forced to a stop right before it.
The Kessho on the other hand swung his other fist right at him
*WHAM!*
[Pause.]
His entire figure froze, whereas Gray was sent flying across the room.
*Crash!*
He crashed against one of the tables, before slowly coming to a stop as it slowed down his momentum while the two were dragged back.
Gray's guard was up, his arms were trembling and red.
He had blocked the punch right before it hit him.
'Oh... So he was able to block that? Not bad... Not to mention how he used his ability on me...'
Gray's eyes widened as he looked down.
The water which had splashed against him, had binded around his legs and arms preventing him from moving freely.
He could hear her giggles of the girl in her water form right beside his ear as the water squirmed around there.
'It's good that he was able to use it and all... But I'm not the only one he has to worry about.'
Gray's eyes flashed left and right, as two Kessho captains, leapt at him with their weapons.
One had an axe, while the other had a sword.
They swung diagonally at him from opposite sides, leaving him no room to dodge.
[Fast-Forward.]
Gray in the air, he had fast-forwarded a leap up. But at the same time.
*Glurgh*
His mouth and nose was covered with water preventing him from breathing, the female Kessho had also fast-forwarded with him since she was in contact with his body.
She herself didn't realise this, but it worked to her benefit.
The water slowly began expanding, almost creating a water cage to deprive him of air. She was limiting him, he had to deal with her as fast as possible.
At the current state, his arms were completely restricted.
*Creak*
A dent was left on the ground as another Kessho leapt at Gray from the crowds.
They were all geared up ready to deal with the mad man who dared to attack them in their own base.
Upon reaching him, the Kessho swung his long steel staff, horizontally at Gray who was in the air.
[Pause: Double.]
Gray's eyes narrowed, he kicked off a platform off paused air towards the Kessho who had leapt at him, and watched the confusion grow on the Kessho's face as his staff froze in the air, right before it hit Gray.
*BAM!*
Gray's knee, crashed into the grown Kessho's face.
[Unpause.]
[Pause.]
He unpaused the platform and paused the Kessho in air, wrapping his legs around him to not fall before thrusting both elbows down at Kessho's eyes.
*Humph*
He repeatedly slammed his elbows on the Kessho's eyes two more times for reassurance, before leaping off of him and avoiding a projectile launched at him from the corner of the room.
While mid-air, he scanned the room once more, looking left and right.
[Pause Step.]
His knees crashed down face of a Kessho amongst the crowd.
"What the hell are you guys doing!? KILL HIM!" One of the other Kessho's shouted.
As of that moment, they all charged in on Gray at once.
Gray couldn't properly move because of the water girl restricting him. If he paused the water, that would only make things worse for him since she was attached, he wouldn't be able to move.
He was at a disadvantage.
But Gray was not the least disturbed, in fact, he couldn't help but grin.
