A voice called out to him, snapping him out of his thoughts. He opened his eyes only to find a worried Aurora, looking at him.
"Yeah- Sorry, did you say something?"
Upon hearing this, Aurora narrowed her eyes.
"We're all waiting on you." She replied, turning towards the kids.
Gray turned to them to before apologizing. They had finally woken up, both of them. The girl was confused at first, but her brother managed to calm her down and explain the situation to her.
Her name was Lita she was 9 and her brother was called Kylo, he was 10. Ever since they had woken up, Lita had remained constantly wary of Gray, almost glaring at him from time to time. Whereas for Aurora, she seemed to admire her.
Gray hadn't noticed this however, as ever since, she had given him that vision, which apparently she couldn't recall doing, he couldn't think of anything else.
'After the girl had swung on me, it ended… But more importantly… Those ships… Does this mean what I think it means?' He wondered.
"Sorry, but yeah. Is that the place?" Gray asked as he pointed at the large hemispheric dome, branched off from the main roads, beside new York city's vast river.
A place which had recently been constructed. Large walls surrounded it, and a single gate was but the only way to enter. The place, constantly had military vehicles entering and leaving the vicinity. Power also seemed to be operating based on the fact that there were bright lights outside.
As for the safety, it seemed to be holding up pretty well. There were countless armed troops placed on top of the walls. Firing off at any zombies which approached.
Because of all the sounds however, more zombies were constantly being attracted, making it seem like it could crumble at any moment. But there was one factor which was stopping that from happening and that was the ability users.
There were small groups of people all around the dome, each and every one of them had an ability.
Some could manipulate flames, burning the approaching zombies to the ground as the men reloaded. Others manipulated the earth, creating quagmires for the zombies to fall in, causing them to become immobile.
There was even one with an ability which allowed him to propel solid objects, at whatever he aimed at. Telekinesis, A psychic power is the closest thing it resembled based on Gray's knowledge.
To see that such a place actually existed in the apocalypse, it was quite interesting.
"Yeah, I think that's the place…" The Lita replied.

"Josh, hey you having fun?" Said one of the gatekeepers.
He carried an AK-47 and stood on top of the gate, all he could see no matter how far he looked was a dark city which had lost it's light and a bundle of corpses, covering the grounds.
"Well it's not like, going out to the beach fun or making out with your sister fun, it's more like having a gun shoved up your ass or getting hit in the balls fun. Ain't that right Steve?" Josh replied.
"Couldn't have said it better myself, jackass." Steve replied.
A military truck approached, stopping just ahead of the gates.
"ID and Vehicle pass." Said Steve, his rifle positioned steadily on his arm.
The driver in the vehicle brought out an ID, placing it just outside the vehicle as he spoke up loud and clear.
"Here's my ID SIR! Vehicle Number 3098, Ammunition, Sir!"
Josh scrolled through the list, looking for vehicle number 3098. Once he found it, he allowed the truck to pass through.
"You can go."
The gates opened.
"Thank you sir!"
The truck passed through and the gates closed once more.
"Are you sure we don't have to confirm whether they're bitten or not, Josh?" Steve asked.
"They're forced to head to the quarantining area right after, you really think they're getting past there with a bite? Even if the truck was full of zombies, they're not getting past." Josh replied.
"Yeah, I guess you're-"
Steve was interrupted by Josh who suddenly asked.
"Hey, is that a group of people?"
Confused, Steve looked towards the direction Josh had been staring, coming down the same path that the truck had come, a group of four individuals could be seen.
Two teenagers and two children.
"It definitely is. Contact HQ."

The four stopped ahead of the gates, there were around three gates all around the dome, since the north side of it branched off to the river, a gate wasn't necessary on that side to keep watch.
Gray and his group entered through the south gate.
"Hey! Any one of you guys bitten?!" Josh asked.
"Obviously if they were, they wouldn't tell us." Steve replied.
"Shut up, Steve."
Gray interrupted the two as he spoke up.
"No, none of us have any bites."
"Alright, just know that if you're lying, under government guidelines and the people's safety, after you walk through this gate, you may be put to rest." Said Josh.
"Yeah, we understand." Gray replied.
Josh quickly inspected them from above. They carried two hiking bags and except for one of them being covered in a lot of dried blood the rest wore neat clothes. It was almost as if they hadn't just come out of hell.
"Since you're here I'm sure you know that this is a refugee, therefore any of your weapons which may bring harm to any individuals will be confiscated. There are other rules you should know once you go inside, but the guys in there will tell you. Is that cool with you?" Josh asked.
The four nodded.
"Good, I'm glad you kids were able to survive up to this point. Open the gates, Steve."
The gates opened, and a warm breeze blew by. Through the opened gates, Gray could see the territory inside, along with countless military vehicles. And if he looked even further ahead, he could see the dome.
