When the ‘Shield’ Saintess Shiva visited the saints’ place, she was greeted with a rare sight.
Among the seven round table chairs, two were vacant.
There was usually only one that was vacant as the ‘Shield’ Saint who possessed the same skill as her had yet to be found, but this was her first time seeing any other one being vacant.
Hence, Shiva asked, “It’s so rare for one of you to be absent. Did he oversleep or something?”
Then the ‘Sword’ Saint Elysium who was sitting at the back of the round table calmly opened his mouth, “You are as fast-talking as ever, aren’t you?”
Elysium was the leader of the saints, and he was from a race of demi-human called ‘oni’.
His strength was arguably the strongest of the saints—even the ‘Shield’ Saintess Shiva couldn’t block one blow of his.
Which was why Shiva could be said to be pretty gutsy for jesting with him.
“I ordered him to annihilate the dwarves, save a few,” said Elysium.
“Oh, but they are a demi-human race like you guys, so why? Weren’t you going to destroy humans only?”
“Of course, the humans will be exterminated. However, the dwarves’ technological capabilities are about to reach threatening level. I’ve judged that they’re going to bring disaster to the new world we envision if we leave them be. Hence, I ordered him to leave none but a few of their most talented ‘women’ which he could control alive.”
“I see. So that’s why you sent him specifically. ‘Incubus’ who can captivate all women—the ‘Staff’ Saint Hesperios-sama.” said Shiva.
Elysium laughed scornfully and said, “It’s regretful that ‘all’ doesn’t include you.”
“Isn’t that a matter of course? For better or worse, I have the power of the ‘Shield’. Wouldn’t it be weird instead if I fell to the charm of an incubus?”
“Hmph, the likes of a vixen sure can speak well.”
“Fufu, I’ll take that as a compliment.
“But was that a good idea, I wonder?” After a pause, Shiva boldly continued, “the boy and his girls seems to be heading for the dwarven village, you know?”
“No matter. The immortal youngster would be a different matter, but although his companions are saintesses, they are, after all, ‘females’. That being the case, they wouldn’t so much as to put up a fight against Hesperios. Rather, I pity the youngster. After all, his beloved women would be robbed off him before his very eyes.” Elysium leaked a rarely seen smile.
Shiva said as if amazed, “Uwah, what a trashy taste. You’re surprisingly quite nasty, aren’t you?”
“Hmph, better than you who turned over to us despite being a saintess.”
“My, well said. But you better not underestimate those children, you know? ‘Love’ can be unexpectedly absurd, after all.”
“……”
After saying her piece, Shiva left the saints’ place, leaving click-clack sounds of her high-heels in her departure.
