Chapter 870 - Hidden Story

Under Su Tao’s treatment, Lu Yunchuan’s condition was alleviated. The hospital had used standardized measures, and Su Tao’s treatment only helped to promote the absorption of the medicine injected into the patient’s body.

Su Tao’s treatment had an advantage. It could prevent Lu Yunchuan’s body from being damaged by overdosing.

Walking out of the operating room, Su Tao was greeted by Tao Qiuping with a smile, “Hello, Mr. Su. I’ve been hearing your name for a long time! My name is Tao Qiuping, the President of this hospital.”

“I’m sorry to alarm you. I shouldn’t interfere with your hospital’s operation, but the patient is an employee of a friend of mine. So I gave Martial Uncle Yue a call out of desperation to get a backdoor from you.”

Su Tao’s words warmed tao Qiuping’s heart. Logically speaking, what Su Tao did was a little excessive, but Su Tao’s humble attitude didn’t make Tao Qiuping feel any discomfort.

Su Tao was a physician, so he had his fair share of experience with people. He knew how to deal with such a situation. If he had taken it for granted, it would only damage the hospital’s impression of him. Not only that, but it would also affect the reputation of fellow physicians and Yue Zun.

Waving his hand, Tao Qiuping sighed, “It’s an honor to have a National Healer like you here today. I saw what you did in the operation room, and I was only filled with admiration. I never expected that TCM would be so magical.”

“There’s nothing wrong about Mr. Ji’s method. I just helped to accelerate the entire process of allowing the patient to absorb the medicine in his body.” Su Tao hurriedly replied.

Ji Hai had seen Lu Yunchuan’s data. Although he knew nothing about TCM, the fact spoke louder than words. Under Su Tao’s intervention, Lu Yunchuan’s condition had improved without using physostigmine. This proved that Su Tao was more skillful.

Furthermore, Su Tao had maintained a good attitude throughout the entire event. He wasn’t overbearing. Ji Hai smiled, “It was an eye-opener today. I never imagined that TCM would be so effective in promoting the absorption of drugs.”

“Not all poisoning can be treated this way. For today, the stomach meridian was more appropriate. TCM has to be flexible and adjusted according to fit the situation.” Su Tao replied.

“Is there a chance for us to invite you to give a talk in the hospital? The county is now promoting the development of TCM, and we are also thinking of conducting a reform in the hospital. Not only does TCM need a basic understanding of western medicine, but vice versa as well. So please do not refuse our request.” Tao Qiuping smiled.

Su Tao never imagined that things would develop in this manner. He had requested a backdoor from Tao Qiuping, owing a favor. So it was hard for Su Tao to refuse this request. With a smile, Su Tao agreed, “I would like to thank you for your trust in me. Since that’s the case, then I’ll wait for your notice. I’ll express some of my basic opinions about TCM.”

Tao Qiuping had a basic understanding of Su Tao. It might be their first meeting, but he had heard a lot about Su Tao and the Three Flavour Hall lately. The Three Flavour Hall might’ve just started, but business was booming. Many people would rather choose the Three Flavour Hall than a standard hospital. So Tao Qiuping couldn’t help feeling curious if it was really that amazing.

Tao Qiuping met many skillful physicians, but he also knew many swindlers in this field. But he resolved a knot in his mind after meeting Su Tao today. Su Tao’s medical skills were real. His acupuncture was so magical that even a layman could sense how much skill was required.

Seeing that Su Tao had agreed to give a talk, Tao Qiuping was in a good mood. He then turned to his secretary, “Try to have all the staff included in this talk. Mr. Su is a National Healer, and it’s not easy for us to get someone like him to give a talk.”

This was the influence of a National Healer. As long as you bring out this identity in the medical system, it means both ability and reputation.

Su Tao might be young, but anyone with experience would know that there was no way you could judge the book by its cover.

As for the nurse who rejected Su Tao’s entry at first, she was feeling complicated. She never expected that Su Tao would be so skillful. Tao Qiuping had a high position in the government system, and even he had to be polite to Su Tao. When she recalled what she said to Su Tao previously, she couldn’t help feeling embarrassed.

At the same time, Su Tao never expected that he would accidentally flaunt his skills in the hospital. But that was life. With great power comes great responsibility.

Furthermore, Su Tao didn’t hide his status. He revealed his identity when the nurse asked. So he couldn’t be blamed for it.

“May I invite Mr. Su to the conference room for a cup of tea?” Tao Qiuping invited with enthusiasm.

“Thank you for your offer, but my friends are waiting for me outside.” Su Tao rejected tactfully.

“Alright. I won’t force it in that case.” Tao Qiuping said with a smile, albeit to some disappointment.

After separating from Tao Qiuping, Su Tao saw Ni Jingqiu, who was waiting outside. The doctor had already explained the situation to her, so Ni Jingqiu was in a good mood.

“Divine Physician Su, I owed you another one.” Ni Jingqiu smiled. “What should I do? Do you want me to give my heart to you?”

“Stop joking around.” Su Tao shrugged. He then asked curiously, “Why is Lu Yunchuan poisoned? It doesn’t seem like someone is trying to poison him. It looks like it was caused by his medication instead.”

With a bitter smile, Ni Jingqiu sighed, “I asked Su Mu about it. Lu Yunchuan has been taking atropine from work pressure. However, it was unknown why he overdosed.”

Atropine was a type of stimulant, and it was under strict control. But in this society, anything could be obtained with money.

“I’m afraid that there’s a story behind this incident. Su Mu seems to be anxious about Lu Yunchuan. Is there a special relationship between them?” Su Tao nodded his head.

Ni Jingqiu smiled bitterly from Su Tao’s keen eyesight. She replied in a low voice, “Strictly speaking, Lu Yunchuan is Su Mu’s mentor. Back then, Su Mu almost failed her internship. But Lu Yunchuan discovered Su Mu’s strengths. Not only was she serious, but she had her own principles and thoughts as well. So he went against everyone and kept her.”

Scratching his head, Su Tao asked, “Doesn’t your company have a rule that forbids the relationship between employees? And one of them must be fired if their relationship is discovered?”

Ni Jingqiu was briefly stunned by Su Tao’s words. She smiled shortly after, “Isn’t this the management system for most companies?” Many large companies forbid relationships between employees. They’re worried that the employees would lose their efficiency. Usually, when they were fired, they would be fired together. Furthermore, if they hold different positions, the company’s secrets might be at risk, posing many problems. This was the reason why most large companies forbid relationships between employees.

“How inhumane.” Su Tao sighed.

“You’re thinking of it too lightly.” Ni Jingqiu smiled helplessly. “But the relationship between them can be regarded as their wishful thinking.”

“Oh?” Su Tao caught the scent of gossip. Then again, he wanted to find out the cause of Lu Yunchuan’s poisoning. It was a physician’s professional habit, just like how detectives would search endlessly for the truth.

Ni Jingqiu wasn’t the kind of person who would talk about her employees’ gossip. But when she saw that Su Tao was so interested, she did not hide it from him, “Lu Yunchuan got married a month ago.”

“It’s too cruel to Su Mu.” Su Tao smiled.

“Why don’t you give her some warmth if you think that she’s pitiful?” Ni Jingqiu smiled.

Shaking his head, Su Tao replied with a smile, “Firstly, Su Mu isn’t my type. Secondly, I’m not Su Mu’s type. Thirdly, only Lu Yunchuan can give Su Mu warmth. Let’s go and take a look at the patient. He should be awake by now.”

The two of them headed to the ward. When they knocked on the door, Su Mu came to open the door before returning to her seat. She continued peeling fruits with a knife. Lu Yunchuan seemed weak, which he struggled to get up with incredible difficulty. Looking at Su Tao and Ni Jingqiu, he replied, “I’m sorry about that, Ms. Ni, Divine Physician Su. I’m sorry to trouble the two of you.”

Ni Jingqiu sighed out in relief. Lu Yunchuan was an important asset to the company. If anything happened to him, it would be a significant loss to the company. Waving her hand, she replied, “Lie down and rest well. You don’t have to care about company affairs for the time being.”

Lu Yunchuan looked at Ni Jingqiu and hesitated, “Ms. Ni, I…”

Shaking her head, Ni Jingqiu smiled, “Don’t be so negative about it and cherish life. In life, there are no obstacles that are impossible to overcome. Everything will become insignificant over time. I’ll give you enough time to recover, and I hope that you can lead a healthy life.”

It was undeniable that Ni Jingqiu was a qualified leader. Her words had caused a man like Lu Yunchuan to start tearing up.

Lu Yunchuan needed time to recover, so Su Tao and Ni Jingqiu did not stay long. They left the room after Ni Jingqiu reassured Lu Yunchuan further.

When the door was opened, Su Tao caught onto a floral fragrance. Raising his head to take a look, he was stunned when he saw a woman in her twenties coming in.

Su Tao had seen many beauties in his life, but this woman could be considered one of the best. She was 5’6” in her heels and a white long-sleeved dress. She had slender brows, an oval face, big eyes, and rosy lips. From her appearance alone, she seemed friendly.

“Hello, Ms. Ni!” The beauty greeted Ni Jingqiu.

“Lu Yunchuan is fine for now. He’s currently resting!” Ni Jingqiu comforted with her words.

When Su Mu saw the woman coming in, she immediately got on her feet, uneasily, “You’re here, big sister!”
