The person who shouted just now was the Dragonborn in the same guild as Leona. His name was Vulcan, right? He and the rest of his guild were standing at the portal and were on their way to the tenth floor as well. It was just coincidental that Han managed to come here at the exact same time and on the exact same day as them! Just a coincidence!
Ah, who was he fooling? Han planned this from the very beginning! Ever since Han saw this guild coming to pick up Leona all those weeks ago, he already knew that he needed to find a way into the guild. Han wasn't going to say he was the smartest person alive, but he was smart enough to know how important it is to have information. Han needed information on the Trinata guild, just like he needed information on all the other top five guilds in this Temple. But he wasn't interested in joining any guilds right now, so he decided he had to get rid of his morality to an extent. Why exactly he got rid of his morality is something you'll find out a little bit later.
"Oh, what are you all doing here? Are you on your way to the tenth floor as well?"
Han asked this in a smooth tone and the members of the Trinata guild looked at him like he was insane. How can this white Star be going to the tenth floor? Doesn't he know how dangerous it is?
Leona looked behind Han and she frowned when she saw him with another girl! This was the third one in only one week! And he even brought her along with his girlfriend!? What kind of player is this!?
Rin Woo saw Leona looking at her and she blinked in surprise before trying to wave at her. She thought these were Han's friends so she was just trying to be nice. But she was shocked when Leona huffed in irritation and looked away from them. Did she do something wrong?
Roland came forward and spoke to Han directly.
"Are you sure you want to go to the tenth floor? It's not exactly the same as the other floors. It's very dangerous for beginners. Your two companions might be okay, but you and that human will surely have a hard time and become a burden. That will not be good for your image"
Han smiled at Roland. So this man still thought Han was a weak person? It was a little strange to be treated like a weak man, but Han decided he wouldn't bother correcting anyone yet, it was only good for his plan after all. And besides, people always underestimate those they think are weaker than them. It'll be better if he isn't put under the spotlight yet.
"Don't worry, I think we'll be fine. We can all go together if you're really worried about me so we can help each other out"
Roland's face scrunched up in distaste and he shook his head. He hated people that were only good at being a burden. This Han knew he was going to hold them back and he still wants to go? Does he not have any shame? Roland didn't want his own team to be held back too, so he decided it would be good to separate now.
He told this to Han and he expected Han to be disappointed but he was surprised when Han's expression didn't change at all! Roland's suspicions grew immediately! Han must have some kind of power that made him this confident! There wouldn't be any other possibility for someone to be behaving so calmly when they knew they could die very soon!
Roland and the rest of his group watched Han enter the portal with his own group and Roland decided he was going to test Han! He would figure out exactly what makes Han this confident!
...
Han and the three girls appeared on the tenth floor and found themselves in front of a large metal door that was three times taller than Han. The door had some words written on it and Han read it curiously.
'Abandon all hope and fight only for survival. Beyond this door lay death'
Wow, talk about morbid.
A hand grabbed Han and Han looked down to see Yue holding him. She was looking nervously at the door and Han could see that both Lily and Rin were also nervous. It was understandable that they will feel nervous when faced with a message like this one. But they had to get over it. Han could destroy everything inside these doors at once, but he wouldn't let the girls become so dependent on him. If they wanted to climb any higher with him then they needed to fight!
"Win. That is all I'll say to you. I'll be on the sidelines cheering you on, so you better win"
Han touched the door and it groaned as it opened slowly. He could feel the girls become more confident behind him and he internally cheered them on. That's my girls!
The door opened to a dark room and all four of them entered.
Boom?
Lily flinched as the door shut loudly behind them and then bright lights started to fill the entire room. It was a huge circular room and Han could see a door on the other end of it. That must be where they needed to go if they wanted to get to the next floor.
"Well, it seems we're trapped together after all"
Han turned to his side and tried his best to act shocked to see Roland and his own group standing there.
"Don't be so shocked. We used a door also, but all the doors lead to this same room. Look around, we aren't the only ones here"
Roland was actually right. Han could see a few people scattered around the room and looking surprised. They must've all entered from different doors, but the room brought all of them to the same arena? What kind of test was going to take place here?
But Roland and the other woman, Senna. They didn't look worried at all. They must already know what kind of test this is since they went through it before. Han was tempted to ask them what it was, but he already knew they wouldn't say. Roland already told him they were not going to work together so there was no reason for them to help someone that wasn't from their guild.
The people in the room were about ten in number, and if you include Hans and Roland's groups, you would have sixteen people. Han shrugged and pet Yue one last time before he began walking away much to the shock of the other group.
Roland watched as Han left and he now knew that Han was completely useless! This man wasn't even going to fight!?
"Are you trying to freeload? Don't tell me you won't even carry your share of the fighting?"
Leona said this with a glare that showed just how pissed off she was and when Han waved her away she felt her ear twitch in annoyance! This man is just a freeloader! She was about to go give Han a piece of her mind, but Roland held her back and told her not to go. It wasn't worth it.
Leona forced herself to calm down and then she turned back to the challenge they were supposed to face. Roland already told them what the challenge would be and Leona was more than prepared for it. By the time they were finished here today, she was going to have at least one skill above level 200 no matter what!
From his place behind the groups, Han leaned against a wall and watched as they all advanced deeper into the room. A bright light shone from the center of the room and then a loud roar broke out across the room. Han had to push off the wall and look closer because he couldn't believe what he was seeing! It was an [Advanced Zombie]!! That zombie that made him go berserk before he could kill it before! So that was their challenge? If that was it, then isn't it too simple -
Han's thought derailed immediately as many more lights shone across the room and formed into [Advanced Zombies] as well. Now there were about fifty zombies in the room and it was no longer so easy from Hans's perspective.
From his calculations, one person would need to defeat about three zombies to survive. And that was only on the off chance that everybody here could actually fight these things. If anybody was too weak and died then the zombies that are meant to fight that person would go after the others, making it all more difficult.
Ah, what a tricky situation. The number of zombies in the room was exactly three times the number of people here including Han. If Han didn't fight then somebody else would have to deal with his three. Han thought on it for a moment before he shrugged. The girls needed the workout anyways, so what was the fun in taking their prey? Han would help them by making them fight more!
