Once Han and Gregory left the portal, the guard that was shouting at them took a deep breath as he felt his heartbeat calming down. Ah, that was refreshing. To think that there are still Nightwalkers that think that can get past my awesome skills! The guard felt on top of the world for this small achievement! But this excitement was short-lived as the other guard that tried to stop him before came up to him and asked him in a scared tone if he felt any power coming from Han! The first guard blinked in shock and he actually furrowed his brow as he thought for a moment. Then his eyes widened and he felt his knees go weak! He didn’t feel anything!
All of these guards were white stars and so for them to not feel the power coming from someone else means that person is a black star! There weren’t many black stars in the temple! Apart from the seven kings, there are only two black stars among all the adventurers! That means that man is one of the black stars!
“I spoke like that to a black star!? What have I done! Will he try to get revenge on me!? Why didn’t you stop me, you bastard! I thought you were my friend!!”
The second guard deadpanned and ignored his idiotic friend. He was glad that he managed to keep his cool throughout the conversation. He could feel that Gregory was also a white star and he wondered what sort of business people as strong as the two of them had on this floor. It must be really important for Han to just ignored his rude friend!
…….
The floor Han and Gregory walked into was a large town that had many people walking around and many merchants selling on the side of the street! The merchants sold weapons, armor, and even food while most of the people walking around wore simple clothes and carried weapons that showed they were adventurers. Han didn’t care about any of the things here. He has already seen many floors like this before so he and Gregory just started to walk deeper into the floor. They had to find out where the guild was. It might actually be more beneficial to move around with that badge the guard was talking about so let’s just go to the guild first. At least then no one would bother to ask any questions if I tried to go to a higher floor. Seeing a strange man in a cloak walking around will only be ignored for so long.
“Hey! Wait up!”
That was a shout from behind the two men and they turned around to see the kids from before running up to them. Well, maybe calling them kids would be a bad representation. They were basically the same age as Gregory. Gregory moved a little bit in front of Han and Han noticed that Gregory was glaring at the children while watching them. So you’re taking your job seriously now? We’re meant to be undercover you know.

Han decided to ignore Gregory and waited for the two children to run up to him. Once they did they smiled at him and the boy bowed!
“Thank you for what you did back there! I don’t know who you are but you got angry for me because of what they did so thank you,”
Gregory rose a brow and looked back at Han and Han ignored him! What? You’re the one they’re thanking, not me! Don’t try to put this one on me! I always told you to work on your terrible social skills and talk to people your age but you only talked to me and other adults back in the castle! I won’t even lift a finger to help since this is all your fault!
Gregory cleared his throat and tried to elbow Han to speak up but Han wasn’t having any of it! He dug his knuckle into Gregory’s back and Gregory’s entire body shivered in pain as he felt his spine bend inwards! Fuck! What the hell is wrong with you, Han!!?
Han still had that expressionless look on his face as he smiled at the two kids. Gregory, are you trying to put all your social interactions on me from now on? I refuse! I’m your king and I order you to talk to these children!
Gregory finally relented and turned to the two of them with a blank face.
“Yes, you’re welcome. Is there anything else I do for you?”
The boy in the group looked toward the girl beside him. His name was Rau and the girl beside him was his sister named Grey. They were actually trying to get to the sixty-third floor and it was just their back luck that they didn’t manage to convince the guard that their family lives there.
“Thanks for stopping the guard before he could take things too far. I know he would have gone too far if you didn’t release your bloodlust as well. Those guards are always like that They never believe the adventurers no matter what we say,”
Gregory tilted his head to the side as he studied the boy closely. What is this idiot talking about?

“Why would he believe what you say? You were obviously lying, weren’t you? Or did you think you were fooling anyone with your performance? The only reason I got angry was that he hit you for no reason. If it is about the portal, then I see no reason for him to have let you through the portal at all,”
The boy’s eyes widened and he suddenly got an embarrassed expression on his face. Han saw that the girl behind him was glaring at Gregory while holding tight to her brother’s hand but Gregory didn’t even give a fuck.
Han hummed as he watched them closely again. They seem a bit ‘too’ close, don’t they? Nah, stop thinking like that, Han. Not everyone is like you. I know I’m just a pervert. Han chuckled in his mind at his own nature.
Back with Gregory, he was surprised the boy thought he was actually fooling anyone. The truth was that anyone that has been around royalty enough would be able to pick up the little things that people do when they are lying. Even those that are very good at lying still cannot hide how their heartbeat skips for a millisecond when they know they are about to say something that isn’t true. You also can’t stop your voice from wavering the normal frequency that it would have when you are speaking the truth. Someone like Gregory that has been with Han for so long can easily pick up things like these. Han was a little proud of Gregory. At least he didn’t get angry for a stupid reason. He realized that the children were lying and he just got angry at the injustice.
The boy scratched the back of his head and laughed. He couldn’t believe they actually caught him! He was trying to see if he can get on these people’s good side because they look unbelievably strong. It would be nice to have friends that can protect you in a world like this. Grey pushed Rau forward a little as if she was telling him to still ask them and the boy decided to still try! The worst they can say is no!
“Uhm, if you’d like, maybe we can form a party. You’re going to the guild, right? But you don’t look like you know much about this place. We can form a party and get our guild badges together so we can all go to floor sixty-three! I know it’s hard for you to trust me, but I really need to get to that floor! I’m not lying this time! We left something important there and my sister needs it!”
Gregory stared at Rau for a moment before he turned back to look at Han. Gregory could tell that the boy wasn’t lying this time. His apology was genuine and he actually needed to get to the sixty-third floor for some reason. And besides, a little white lie to get to a higher floor isn’t that big of a deal to Gregory.
But ultimately, the final decision fell on Han. Han hummed as he looked down at the children. Rau had this desperate look on his face and Grey was looking at Han with the same kind of expression Yue would give him when she needed something really badly!
They’re just kids and I do need someone that I can trust to take us to the guild. Since I know this boy needs to go to the guild for something important then it would be best if he was the guide, I don’t think he would have any reason to double-cross me. And if he does I can just kill him.
